I can totally believe that. Racist bigot, I hear, too. Ya - the song One in a Million expressed that part of his life quite deliberately. There was a lot of controversy at the time that he had already addressed, but ultimately still felt the need to write Don't Damn Me in response to it all - and then some. I appreciate this type of art and the explanation behind it. It allows us to understand how and why these people think the way they do. Subsequently, that level of knowledge allows us to get into their mind and effect change, rather than ridicule and sow even more discord.
