  1. That's sounds so creepy. Honestly, it conjours up an image of one of these turning it's head towards you without being controlled by a hand... Lol, that's kinda what I was going for. I could've just stopped at Father, but decided to just push it a bit. ...but dude, that's great. I'm still laughing thinking about it. It reminds me of a long running joke between my fiancee and I when we see porcelain dolls. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  2. Exactly. It's atrocious and can't be defended. There really isn't anything to argue about, hence the thread drift. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  3. I addressed that in Post #118. It was posted just a minute before your reply so you may have missed it. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  4. Does your particular flavour of Christianity not recognize the Trinity? In the brand I was raised in God and Jesus are one. I believe the Spirit of God is omnipresent. Jesus, while on earth was not. Now He's seated at the right hand of the Father, waiting - just waiting. He's waiting for you, Ken. 6. The only evidence needed is that which is experienced on a personal level through the application of scripture. Now you may say that's just placebo, but given that nearly 2 billion+ people have shared similar experiences, I'd say that's a pretty effective placebo. Do you think a sugar pill would fare as well? 7. The book was collated with various writings from over the years. That's what happens when you mix it with politics/government and use it for power and control. Do you really think that those people represent the majority of believers? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  8. See, you just turned Santa into what you wanted him to be so you could make some parallel to religious figures. Santa isn't Omnipresent - he was born in Turkey and now resides at the North pole. If he was omnipotent, he wouldn't need flying reindeer nor a need for us to send him our Christmas list. While those have always been traits of God, I don't think omnipresence was ever a characteristic of Jesus. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  9. Subjectivity of the post? Not sure which post you mean, I've lost track and I'm not going to take the time to sort it out. Dan implied that overtime, people changed the idea of Jesus into what they wanted him to be - but some believe he is God, some believe that he is just a prophet, some believe that he's a mere mortal, while others want to believe he was non-existent. It's all subjective. You were the one that asked about Islam and the Bible. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  10. Yes, I would definitely use the Main Concept .mp4 at a variable bit rate. However there are a few issues that you need to understand in order to control the file size without playing guessing games all day and wasting time. In RMK's screenshot is shows a max of 16mbs and an average of 8mbs by default. It really should read a max of 16mbs and a minimum of 8mbs, because when you render a video with those settings, you'll end up with a video that's between 11-12mbs. If you want to control file size, you have to control the bit rate. Ideally, it would be nice to just input a constant bit rate. (which is right above "variable bit rate" in the screenshot) However, Vegas doesn't give you an option to input a custom value, so you have to use variable bit rate. In order to get a constant bit rate using the "variable bit rate" section, you have to input the same value for max bit rate and average bit rate. So if you want to encode at 8mbs, you will input 8,000,000 for max and 8,000,000 for average. Now, how do you know what bit rate to use? The file size of the video will depend on the length of the video and the bit rate with which you choose to encode it. If you have a 10 minute video and want it under 500MB you'll have to encode it with a bit rate 6.5mbs - so you'll input 6,500,000 for the max and 6,500,000 for the average and it will produce a file of around 480MB. Here is a table for other lengths: 15 minute video - 4,000,000 bps = 450MB (approx. file size) 20 minute video - 3,000,000 bps = 460MB (approx. file size) 25 minute video - 2,500,000 bps = 500MB (approx. file size) 30 minute video - 2,000,000 bps = 480MB (approx. file size) Please remember that a lower bit rate may reduce quality depending on the source file. You should be fine with 4-7mbs even though those aren't optimal bitrates. 2-3mbs may get a bit sketchy, but for the most part they should be ok - just double check. I really wouldn't go below 2mbs, but it's up to you. If you have a video longer than 30 minutes, it's probably best to just encode at a higher bitrate and have a larger file size. For videos under 10 minutes, a bitrate of 7-8mbs will be fine. Hope that helps. If you're still having trouble I could walk you through it given more info - or you could send the video from the mac guy so I can look at his settings and find something comparable in a PC environment. 12. Kind of like Jesus. No wait, that's exactly like Jesus. Ya, well given subjectivity of the post, you're not really saying much - are you? Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  13. Actually, Santa was real - it's just that overtime, people made him into something they wanted him to be, rather than who he actually was. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  14. Acts 11:26 "...first called Christians in Antioch..." See also Acts 26:28 and 1Peter 4:16 Pfffft, that was written like 1000 years ago! We were talking about the bible - how dare you quote scripture! Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  15. You're free to believe or not believe whatever books you want, but you don't have to believe them in order to have a discussion on what's it's about. You may not believe in Neverwhere but you can still discuss it without constantly saying bah, that's impossible, I don't believe it, that's ridiculous - why would people worship rats?! What a book club buzzkill. . . Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  16. Oh, so they are right about that part of the mythology, but wrong about everything else? This really isn't about being right or wrong. Gowlerk said that Islam isn't mentioned in the bible. I said neither is Christianity - but you can look at the text and get an idea for the basis of those religions. Muslims claim that Islam is an Abrahamic faith through his son Ishmael. I was simply pointing to the part of scripture where they may have gotten it from. Beyond that, scripture doesn't really say much more about that side of the family. 17. Ya, ya - it's uncanny. I wonder how it would go over today if Hillary got some no-name republican to talk shit about Trump whille lighting a cigarette and smoking it with his legs crossed at 3 minutes into a televised campaign message. . . ...anyway, the guy seemed sincere, but it was obviously scripted BS. For the fist time, it's nice to see history repeating itself however - It gives me hope that shit really ain't as bad as we think. It's only as bad as it's always been - and thats a good thing. 18. Ya, well I'd say there's like a billion+ Muslims that base their faith on it and would disagree with you - I don't really care - I was just addressing the arrogance of your question. Never was there an answer....not without listening, without seeing - Gilmour
  19. You need faith to believe that Abraham even existed. What does that have to do with the question that you initially asked? Why are you selectively quoting my reply to another poster and ignoring my response to you? Is it really that hard to apologize for the arrogance of your comment and admit that you were wrong? 20. I wouldn't put much faith in what's really a combination of four texts each written somewhere between 2500 and 12000 years ago. But blind faith is the problem and blind followers are the result. I don't need faith to know that Islam is an Abrahamic religion - that it is a "great nation" - that Ishmael, the son of Abraham, is considered the father of Islam. I hold it in faith that Ishmael - the father of Islam - would be a "wild donkey of a man" - that his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him" - that "he will live in hostility toward all his brothers." I take it on faith that that may perhaps have something to do with the fubar known as the middle east and it's affect on the rest of the world. 21. Well, I don't even think "Christianity" is mentioned in the bible either. You have to remember that Islam is an Abrahamic religion. Ishmael, the first born son of Abraham, is believed by Muslims to be the father of Islam. Abraham's wife Sarah couldn't have children so he decided to have a child with his maid-servant Hagar, who bore Ishmael. Gen 17:20 And as for Ishmael, I have heard you: I will surely bless him; I will make him fruitful and will greatly increase his numbers. He will be the father of twelve rulers, and I will make him into a great nation. Gen 21:13 I will make the son of the maidservant into a nation also, because he is your offspring." Gen 16:11-12 The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now with child and you will have a son. You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers." Sarah finally gave birth to Isaac. She feared that Ishmael would be a bad influence for a variety of reasons and asked Abraham to send Hagar and the child away. As Hagar wandered in the wilderness she cried out to God that her son doesn't die: Genesis 21:17-18 And God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. Up! Lift up the boy, and hold him fast with your hand, for I will make him into a great nation.” I believe all those verses above are in reference to Islam - as I already stated, even Muslims believe Ishmael is the father of Islam. I think that's what much of the fuss is all about. The Muslims say that Ishamel is the first born son - The Jews say, "ya, but he's the illegitimate son so he's not legally entitled to the birth right, IIRC. 22. How have you guys done this to yourselves? How were you left with Trump and Cruz as the only options when someone like Kasich, who at the very least has the advantage of appearing to be a real human person and not a cartoon, was still in the race? It's mind boggling! A few months ago, I shared a similar sentiment here in post #66 of this thread. If it was about being real, honest and having a record that demonstrated positive results, then Kasich was the most wholesome peanut in that pile of elephant shit at center ring.
