And I guess I just have to reply to my own post....... I am certainly not trying to convert anyone here. Faith is something you have to seek for yourself I think. There are those around you that can be an influence not in the way that they pressure you to believe as they do but that show you their convictions even when others may scoff. I am by no stretch of the imagination a "good Christian". I have messed up plenty. I just hope that I can find inner peace with all that I worry about. It will be a lifetime struggle. "Peace to all" may seem hollow to some. Unwanted by others. But, I do hope everyone that has read this thread finds a path to continued faith in God. Threats of fire and brimstone usually don't attract as many to that idea. Chris

Benny, the version of "troll" that you use is much more sinister than what is exhibited here. I have had my own struggles with faith over the years. One thing that I found warming was that faith was there for the taking any time. There were those who were very strong in their faith but did not shove it down my throat. Some seem to think that any mention of faith is an attempt to convert. Why would you feel so uncomfortable about people who do profess (not confess) their faith during certain conversations of the day? The mear mention of Jesus, God, or Holy Spirit tends to make some feel unseasy? Why is that? If you are certain of your beliefs then you should not worry. But if you do feel uneasy then maybe there is something nagging at the back of your mind that you are supressing. It may be that you do want to believe but it is not fashionable for you right now. It's ok. Faith is there for the taking whenever, where ever. I don't walk a straight line in my faith. Life is a rocky road. I have recently felt it more though. And I'm happy about that for me. I hope you are satisfied in your own life. No, I do not belong to the CSA but I am in a Cross jump picture that appears on their website. That was a cool thing for me to be involved in. It has a special place in my heart and mind. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Good luck to you Jerry. Get well soon. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125 -
Load Organizing. They don't need a "coach" but someone to keep them occupied, interested, and introduce them to other people since it is a larger DZ. (that's Drop Zone if you didn't know that one either )

Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) with CL-65 (CRJ) Type rating. (By the way that's what I got my originial ATP on. Scary, I know.) Started flying skydivers in May 1995. Started jumping in August of 1995. Had a CFII rating but let it lapse. Got tired of people asking for just BFRs and not wanting to do all that I asked. "Well the last guy only made me fly for half an hour." Guhhh....no thanks. Had a IAD JM rating but it's lapsed and went through Tandem training. Got to do two live students then decided that's not how I wanted to spend my weekend. I felt I could do better doing newbie LO. Doesn't pay but that's ok. I enjoy it. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125

Wow...and you're upright this early in the morning? Impressive.

Do you have 100, 500, 1000 jumps of experience? Or do you have 1 jump experience 100, 500, 1000 times? I think those that crank out a lot of jumps and are active in the sport hardcore for a given amount of time have an easier time with the breaks. I believe this thread refers more to people who are still starting out and have maybe less than 100 jumps over 3-4-5 years. This is a much more difficult situation to make sure they are safe. Not that there's anything wrong with that....... [Charlie Brown] Good grief. -
Sorry if that surprised you. I think maybe it was taken more than I meant it. What I'm saying is that in Phree's example the person was told to move on and I didn't know all that was going on there. If the person wants to do all the retraining necessary (and be back on radio) then why not let them jump? No, hangar flying ain't everything. But why quash the dream (send them bowling) if you don't have to. If even with the recurrent training the person is a hazard to themself then most definitely council them that this sport might not be for them. Better? I actually disagree with this. If they understand the costs involved in maintaining their currency why not? I mean, there are people who hang out at the DZ but jump seldom. They do pick up more info than the average monkey. But is it a matter of the instructor just not wanting to feel like they are waisting their time with this jumper or what? If they pay the money for the extra training each time why not? I say keep jumping but just remember you will never progress really. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
