  1. Yah......posting on the WORLD WIDE WEB is an effective tool to keeping it quiet. LOL....bahahahahah
  2. [Sir Mix Alot] I like big BUTTS and I can not lie!" [/Sir Chops Alot]
  3. Uh, yah right. The NTSB report says that the cause was because of "the pilot's failure to maintain aircraft control during the takeoff/initial climb." Oh, and the plane was 1,000 pounds over max certificated weight and the CG was aft of the aft limit by 10 inches. Yah, "dust devil". One survivor statement said the pilot was moving his hand fast in the area of the elevator trim: Which is amazingly just like a Take-off departure stall from a mis-trimmed elevator. "Dust devil" Full report HERE Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  4. Yah....just got a note about that too that there is nothing for it on the website. We've never skipped one yet so I would imagine it's an oversight for the website. I'll try to ask around. Chris
  5. Pete, I didn't remember you talking about this incident at all when I was out in Cali. Wow. Glad you all came out ok physically. Think about that situation today....that plane would never have been allowed to approach New York. It would have been forced to land somewhere else or been shot down by F-16s. Amazing isn't it? The only option we have to confront hi-jackers who make it into the cockpit is to get shot down. Ah well, we'll be getting guns soon. Imagine his surprise if he had fired that starter gun......Just a bang and nothing hit. Then BANG and lights out. Chris
  6. MMmmm.....I would say check the SDC website for updates on event information. Chris
  7. This time of year is like one long continuous Safety Day. We've already had one AFP refresher day that was attended by more experienced jumpers than AFP students. That was cool. Safety Day is similar to the Winter Expo but with no vendors and is focussed more as a big group discussion going down the list of topics. Lots of people adding in good info and gets people thinking early in the season. You will not be disapointed if you attend SDCs Safety Day. It's free. The Winter Expo has an entry fee but again you have some very cool discussions going on. I believe the vendor section is free for access though. Chris Schindler
  8. I agree that the inspectors have an important part to play still. We need as much info as possible about what is being found and what the Iraqis are doing to cooperate or hinder them. I so wanted more info from Bush about intelligence they said they had. They revealed some but unfortunately I think they still could be more forth coming. Not that I don't think they have it. I just don't know why they are protecting it. I feel that France and Germany have an obligation to NATO to support Turkey no matter if they like this war or not. And if I remember the issue correctly all they opposed was the -planning- to support Turkey. What's wrong with beginning the planning? This doesn't make sense really. Or I might be missing some aspect of the issue that came up. I think so far the Afghani people are better off now than they were under the Taliban. The women have more rights and hopefully more free speach and fewer guns will reign in that country. It won't happen over night. It will take a lot of work from within if those people want it. I feel the same can come for the Iraqi people. I seriously hope we don't go down the road of taking all their oil. I'm a bit optimistic that will not happen. We do want to protect our alli Jordan's oil supply too. They get it from the Iraqi's. And very cheap too. I do feel that Hussein is a threat to citizens in the US and around the world. And we do need to remove him rather than just let them stay at risk of random attacks. I feel we have been appeasing the UN enough by supporting the no-fly zones for over 10 years with no end in sight. We are paying the bill for this. Enough is enough. Chris Schindler
  9. Damn. Curses you Riddler! I'll think of sumpin though. Just gotta give this super hero some time. [final Jeapordy music comes up] Rig? no....can't afford a new one for myself.... Boasting about physical attributes.....no....no....she'll never believe it.... Damn.....I think you win.....
  10. Hell.. I'll spend some time under her table at the pub tomorrow night Some MAMA time lol Oh yah...oh yah!???? Welll....I'lllll.......give even more altitude than I was planning to before.....so there!
  11. Oh sure, try to cover up your whoriness by flattering me at the end. I'm onto you, sugar! I'll give you extra altitude if you leave the thread open Mama.......
  12. Well, to be honest I don't know squat about the conflict with the IRA. If they were sending money to do that then I would certainly disagree with it. I'm not your enemy and don't want that sort of support coming from this country. OK? I think you feel we are doing the "it's my way or the highway" because we are blood thirsty. We're sick of blood too. But a wise man said that those who do not learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Do we want a wider conflict later? Appeasing this jurk with endless and hollow motions by the UN is just like Hitler. Enough is enough. Glad you agree that Hussein should go. Sorry you disagree with how we are going about it. But I do think the Europeans are influincing Bush's actions whether they believe it or not. I personally thought we'd be at war with Iraq before Christmas. We are not and I think that is directly attributable to the protests of the world. You just might get the "extra time" you want for more inspections. But for how long? That's the problem here I think. There's no deadline. The U.S. is trying to set a deadline so we can be done with this matter rather than letting it go on and on. We hope to pull out our military down the line rather than having "peace keeping troops" on the Saudi and Kuwaiti border with Iraq. Personally I'd like to see US troops pulled out of Germany too down the road. We've been there long enough. And Italy, and Japan, and Korea, etc....Then maybe we could pay attention to Africa and help out. Then again, they may not want our help. Oh well, my intention was to try and calm this thread a bit with some tempered American opinion. I guess I'm still an "ugly American" in the eyes of many.
  13. McCain--------> Baaaaaaaaad...... Enemy of all airline pilots. It sucks enough having to negotiate under the Railway Labor Act and not being able to strike when our contract runs out. Noooooo.....we have to wait until a member of NMB "releases" us from negotiations which can be years since the contract ran out. He wants to takes us towards baseball stile arbitration which would effectively take away our right to organize as a union and strike for working conditions. He says all airline pilots are over paid. Excuse me, but he doesn't live on my wages and I fly the same route and airports as mainline United, Delta, American. The market is going to correct itself but the McCain/Lott bill is insane to labor unions. [/rant]
  14. Alright! Everyone stay calm! This thread is being hi-jacked! No funny stuff and you may see KNOCKERS!
  15. I sure do hope he runs for president of the U.S.A. I'll vote for him. Every time I hear him speak I am more convinced that he has a good head on his shoulders and is very intellectual. He would make an excellent president in my opinion. Hopefully '04. But might have to wait til '08. Chris Schindler
  16. Ok, everyone, I think we are all common people seperated by a common language. Words on a computer screen don't always express how people are really approaching this. "Fuck you asshole" is pretty clear but that came later. I think the big gripe Americans have is that we tried appeasement of Hitler. Look where that got us. I know Europe is tired of war. Hell, I can't imagine having every city there having been the site of so many battles and blood shed. So I don't know your perspective. But please understand ours. We don't seek war so we can be a bully. Many here feel that we are spending too much time in Iraq. We had to go there originally because the Kuwaiti's could not prevent an invasion. We had to come to Saudi Arabia's defense also. Many Americans were dumbfounded when we did not go all the way to Baghdad and remove Saddam the first time. Many saw this coming again. NO ONE believed that he would sit quietly by and follow the UN resolutions. He has continuously shot at UN forces in the no-fly zone. This is not a guy who is just gonna go away quietly. So, 9/11 happens and there are no direct ties to Saddam. But we do know that he is capable of selling weapons to the highest bidder. I have no doubt that in the future he would support terrorism on U.S. soil. He is already sending money to families who have a member blow themselves up in Israel. Now regardless your opinion on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict do you really expect us to sit back and wait for suicide bombers to start blowing themselves up in our malls? Our restaraunts? Our kid's baseball game? Appeasement does NOT work with people like this. They don't give up. And the cost will be much higher later rather than sooner. The U.S. was slow to act in WWI and WWII. We do NOT want to be late to the game in this conflict. I am for armed conflict in Iraq if they do not come forward with the WMDs as put forth in the UN resolution. But let's not kid ourselves either. No time limit for them to comply is just more appeasement and that does NOT work! Let's get it done and then get this country rebuilt with some good efforts for a peaceful nation. It will be rebuilt by all of us just as Europe was rebuilt with our help. Not solely by the US. But with our help. And for those that want to bag on the US and our relationship with the UN who was the biggest supplier of humanitarian aid in Afghanistan BEFORE the removal of the Taliban? My understanding is that it was the U.S.A. So no, we don't sit iddly by while the rest of the world cleans up the problems. Now for the NATO problem. France, Belgium, and Germany took an oath to defend a member nation if attacked. Now, the US is ready to go alone into Iraq and the possibility of attack of Turkey is very real. Turkey is a member of NATO so they are obligated to defend them. Their decision to not PREPARE to defend them is a real afront. So why be in NATO if you aren't prepared to back up your words? When the going gets tough, the tough get going. Well, this is a tough time and we need their help to back up a member nation if we get our asses handed to us in Bhagdad. I think it only wise that we ask for help to defend Turkey because we don't want them swinging in the wind. Seems a prudent thing to do. "That's all I have to say about that now." -Forest Gump (a wise man) Chris Schindler
  17. "Strategery"!......bahahhahaha.......I love that one. See, we make fun of his "new" words too. But that was a good one!
  18. Big engines just compensate for poor pilot technique in turn around time. LOL...... Ummm.....during the record my -27 engines were keeping up nicely with the Arizona -34 otters. Other planes had to ask for power reductions because their -27s weren't as strong or "tweaked" (read tuned) for best operation. Roger recently replaced the compressor sections of most of his engines and it has made a world of difference. Should help reduce the hot section wear too. They run cooler and pull max torque to a very high altitude. The -34 engines can NOT pull more torque than a -27 engine. They are both limited to 50 lbs/Tq because of the gear box. The -34 engines can run hotter than the -27s and so that allows them to run max Tq to a higher altitude. But if that -34 engine aint tweaked for max performance then the extra heat doesn't mean anything. Sorry. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  19. Was this aircraft set up for jump ops or was it strictly used for personal travel? Was it a Cessna 170? Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  20. California, I knew they were a bunch of weirdos. What a crock. Which politician on crack thought that one up? Friggin idiots.
  21. Ummm.....try turning it the other direction?
  22. Oh thankyou. MMMmmmmmmm......
  23. Oh come on.....let's see some shots while getting the air out of the canopy! Preferably standing by the container!
