  1. Ummm..............ummmm....... sorry?
  2. And his email says he's "dlund@........." Hmmmmm
  3. It's also sad that people are unable to follow simple Directions.
  4. It's been done by another pilot crew. Intentional engine reversal inflight. Was done to find out what happened to another Casa that crashed. Normal flight was recovered between 1,000 and 2,000 AGL from an entry at 14,000 AGL. A phone call was made to tell the investigators what to look for. Not certain on the year but I'm almost positive that it was before 1996. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  5. It's not that hard to pack if you just read the manual and ask some other riggers how they do it. Hell, I'm not even a licensed rigger and I thought it was way easier to pack than a Vector. My pop top almost never needed adjustment after packing. And if it did it just took a couple of tugs and it was good for the rest of the repack. And yes, it was all under the supervision of a licensed rigger. Edit: And it did NOT increase the pull force on the pin. Chris
  6. Why is this a poll? The poll answers don't make sense. Chris
  7. And it would be an excellent opportunity for a "regime change". Which means he never really would leave his country to debate Bush. Or would this be his way of saying "I surrender now that I'm out of my country." And interesting thought.
  8. This is where I disagree completely. The UN put forth the resolution. Sadam had the chance to comply on his own. He would have much more ground to stand on if he had. I don't see how this is the Inspectors fault. They tried to do their jobs and they were constantly blocked at every turn. Why? Because Iraq really does have WMD. If I were pulled over for DUI and the officer tried to arrest me and I resisted who's fault is it that I resisted? The officer's or mine? Chris
  9. Not saying you're wrong Richard, but what has been going on for the past 12 years since the last Gulf war? Endless resolutions with no consequences and non compliance by Iraq. When does diplomacy really end? Why is none of the past 12 years being considered in this stance by anti-war people? It seems that only what G.W. has done since the beginning of his presidency has been looked at. And as I remember Bush 43 came in with a hands off stance towards foreign policy. Don't mess with us and we won't mess with you. Well, we got messed with. No, Iraq did nothing against the U.S. directly recently but they have been in non-compliance for 12 years and they HAVE been shooting at our jets in the no-fly zones. So why should we keep sending our sons and daughters into harms way for a resolution that will never end? This needs to come to a head and be finished. Then we can focus all of our attention on North Korea which needs to be dealt with for sure. Chris
  10. Oh those numbers include my reserve and taxi time. You should be able to load an otter in about 60 - 90 seconds. Now I have to say that when flying I'm getting to altitude as the green light is coming on. I'm not straight and level except for jump run. Well some times it's not straight as I do hook pattern jump runs. Load turn times are kept and I usually turn takeoff to land in about 14-17 minutes. That leaves 3 minutes really for loading. Anything that goes faster just improves my total turn around time and gives us more loads by the end of the day. Save 60 seconds on every load over another pilot and you will turn at least 2 loads more per day. But there are times I've seen pilots that turned loads 5 minutes slower than me so the difference is even greater. And in the end, your fuel burn will be tremendously greater. If I'm sitting idling on the ground I have a lower fuel burn than if I'm at altitude waiting to get over the target. And I've also seen pilots that couldn't climb at best rate of climb speed within 5 knots. To be honest if you can't fly an otter +/- 1 knot you have some work to do. 11. Yes, it is a lot of work. Flying 17 people on the tail (16-way chunk and video) is tough work and you better be ready for it in the Otter. Or else yes, you can stall it. But I also believe the otter can recover from a stall easier than the Casa or Skyvan. The wing is fat and wide. In layman's aerodynamic terms it has more "bite". If you have shed most of the weight (hopefully the group went when they felt the buffet) the aircraft will recover easily. The Casa and Skyvan have a much thinner wing and will be more difficult to recover. Situationally any plane is capable of being out of control all the way to the ground. So it is imparitive that no matter what plane is being used for jumpers the pilot knows proper "unusual attitude" recovery technique. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  12. I put on 800 pounds total. I run 4 loads on that. That's about 114 gallons total. edited: That includes my reserve fuel. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  13. Jumped from and flew right seat in Mister Douglas N129H. One landing at the controls. What a beauty. DOM 1941 I believe. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  14. Well, you might want to have a talk with your pilot because I use about 22 gallons TOTAL PER LOAD to that altitude. Inefficient flying by a pilot can really run up the operating costs on any turbine airplane. Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  15. Dates: March 1st and 2nd. Don't know the registration fee. Chris
  16. I at least know that part. March 1st and 2nd.
  17. May not be the pilot's fault if he doesn't know where he is going. Chris Schindler
  18. These buildings might consider doing an emergency door briefing like we do on an airplane. You obviously have to fight human nature to go out the way you came in. Kind of a kill joy to a party or concert but we can see what the alternative is. Condolences to all.
  19. Sure thing...... Bytch is gonna rub oil all over Quade behind the bushes after school..... Pass it on.
  20. Got pulled over going to a DZ to apply for a flying job. Sucked. Got to the DZ and the DZO was a prick. Didn't work for him. Went down the road closer to home and made my very first jump that day. So all in all the day worked out great! Chris Schindler www.diverdriver.com ATP/D-19012 FB #4125
  21. You gonna make me? Yeah, you and who's army? No more war! It's just for the oil! Hey Lisa, I got some rubbing oils......he he......he he.....
