My dad talked me into going to do a tandem last summer. He always wanted to try it and he didn't want to go alone. So, we went as a way to celebrate his 45th b-day last August. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

***Feels good to have a couple of parachutes on your back instead of a tandem instructor doesn't it? *** Why yes it does. That student gear is heavy though. But, it was definitly awesome. I had really great instructors this weekend. I am so tired right now. I just can't sleep though. Too busy watching my videos. Well-the weather this weekend was finally good enough for me to do some AFF jumps. I did jump #1 yesterday. It went really well. I was so nervous in the plane. I could barely walk to the door because my legs were so wobbly. I thought about riding down with the plane. I knew that if I did this that the chances of me getting back on a plane to skydive were pretty small. So, I took a deep breath, and told myself to calm down and that I could do it!! Once I exited I was so much more relaxed. Under canopy - which was what I was most fearful of-I was much more relaxed that I thought that I would be. Today I did AFF jumps #2 and #3. They went well. I was not as altitude aware on jump 2 as I was on jump one. I actually thought that I was lower than I was. The landing for jump 2 was a little hard (I did a little bit of a somersault instead of a PLF). Coming in for the landing for jump 3 I was a little nervous. But, I had little assistance from the guy on radio and it was very smooth. Overall - I had an excellant time and can't wait to go again. I am so sore right now but I feel great. I have a trip planned to NYC for a long weekend in May. I plan to take a walk in Central Park. I went to NYC last summer, but only for the afternoon. I drove past the park but that was about it. After you graduate and if this happens let me know. I just graduated with my MBA last June. I'm still stcuk in the same job I had before and far from making the big bucks.
