We actually had an AFF grad, go through all the ISP requirements and finished up his 25th jump with his A licensce quiz with the proficiency card completed. It just suprisies me how so many new students dont look forward to completeing these and acquire the skills that go with it. As an instructor I would like to see more students being pushed(if they have to be) to complete the A license. I Am Sofa King We Todd Did!!

Not sure why i felt like sharing this but oh well. January- Both my Labs were ran over, they never really strayed all that much- one person said one of them got hit and the other was hanging around waiting and got hit also. Feb- Lost my job of 6yrs- with a VERY well known company- was planning on retiring there but oh well, I guess I need to watch my back- Will never Supervise again, to much BS to handle with kid gloves. Mar- got Divorced-this was coming to an end long before though-suprising she said she thought she could change me-you get what you get. In the mean time lost everything-I slept on an air matress for 4 months with a 19"TV- and that was the lot of my posessions. May- broke my tail bone trying to avoid the taxi way by shutting down a swoop that went further than anticipated. July- Totalled my car due to flipping it- person pulled out in front of me but I missed them and hit a curb that tossed me over- in this state no contact means your at fault. Total loss. Sep- broken ankle- tandem passenger sat on it- was really my doing though. That about sums up this year so far. I tried playing some country music backwards to see if I could get it all back, no such ,luck. I Am Sofa King We Todd Did!!

We actually had a law student come to jump at our DZ, when they finished the waiver our manifest told them that they had missed a few. Thats we she replied" I don't agree with those and will not give up those rights". Manifest started handing back the money for the Tandem and they looked confused, basically told them if they were unwilling to sign they were unwilling to jump. They ended up signing the waiver and had a good time. I Am Sofa King We Todd Did!!

As we discussed the other day about waiting on NZ to get their materials tested, I will probably be going back to a PD Velo, Its not just the wait time because I messed up myself and sold my other canopy to have funds to purchase another, but cannot sit and not practice while waiting on them to get everything in order. Should be the going rate of your local DZ that would be consistent with a revised AFF Cat E dive, which has to involve an instructor. So the cost seems close. I know people look for someone to say the wrong things just so they can correct them, but this is the policy at my DZ, others may not apply. I Am Sofa King We Todd Did!!

This one is a funny topic for me: This year I went through a divorce I was a jumper and so was she, but when we had children she stopped jumping thinking of the possibility of both of us being in the plane at the same time and something going wrong. Even in the divorce papers, she had written where I could not have the children at the dropzone, as if something did happen to me that the attention would be on me and not the kids. We all assume the risk- but I consider it living more than anything. To me sitting on the couch, saying why you jump out those planes for. Is a waste of your life. I want memories-not regrets.
