characteristics of the JVX- Longer recovery arc with better reaction from the rear risers due to being a 9 cell. Dicy in slow flight due to crosswinds, no stabalizers also has an effect on the turn recovery not hitting the line of flight as quickly as the Velo. Definate distance gain with the sail material if loaded properly-but the experience need to be there. Openings can vary from 2 simliar canopies, so not really saying one is better than the other, but with the right slider setup on the Velo they can be awesome and the same goes for the JVX. I did find that the stock slider in the Velo tends to open very slowly(on my canopy,others may vary) and gives it the chance to spin. I have found that my distance has improved with the jVX over the Velo, but have still seen guys with great technique blitz me on the Velo. Opinions on this may vary from one to the next, but this is my experience with both canopies over the past couple of years. I Am Sofa King We Todd Did!!

My hybrid JVX 87 packs closer to a 135, as I have a significant comparison, My working rig for Vidie is a sabre 120 and that damn thing won't come close to fitting in that bag, or container for that matter. Sail material is thick and I do believe some where on the NZaerosprts web site the do list the packing volumes for the different styles of canopies. Oh yea, Attilla can be impossible to reach but one guy that gets back to me unbelievably quick is Greg from karnagecrew.com, and he knows all the specs on the JVX lines. I Am Sofa King We Todd Did!!

Of course the natural's @ freefall are always the best, to actual see that what you taught is being applied versus what they think they should be doing in their heads. But the bad one was a non eventful freefall with the guy doing quit well, but when he deployed it was a slammer, I looked at the other instructor with a oooowww! face, checked the canopy again and it was inflated. Come in to land and I hear people on the ground screaming at me,looked up at the canopy and 2 cells were still flopping about. I thought just end cell closure but as he got closer 2 cells were completly blown out. I looked quickly for the other instructor who had the radio not only was she still in the air but landing,what seemed to be a mile away from me, I took off running trying to get her attention and yelling myself and soon as she spotted me she looked quickly at the canopy and without a second thought said cut away, cut away NOW!!!!!. And so he did @ about 1800 feet with his parents hearing and watching all of this. 200 feet was about all the altitude he lost in the chop( good job by the rigger) and floated down to a stand up landing under reserve. You will eventually figure out why those guys with thousands of jumps act and give advice they way they do. @ jump 200 yep iwas they shiznit, jump 500 gotten alot better but realized didn't know shit at jump 200.\ hit 1000 hell yea, the elite- once again wish I had toned down the attitude I showed at 500. 2000 + and im giving credit to the sport that is still on a constant learning curve. I really like that you have adapted the new program so well, and I have only been an AFF instructor for the last 3yrs and was brought up on the categories and not levels. I almost said the DZ I'm at is tough to change but the DZO has given me all the clearance to go with the new setup, the problem lies with the other instructors who have been doing this about 10 yrs. If I train one way and they train another, the last thing you need is a confused student. By training I mean the method not the style, it's all the same. Any way its tough to make the transition, what I need in my court is a few more folks to become instructors so we can change the flow. But that's a whole other issue. I Am Sofa King We Todd Did!!
