I just looked up Bipolar as i had not idea what it was.... The symptoms were as follows. Kind of sounds like a person who lives on a dropzone....... Increased energy, activity, and restlessness (where is the pilot!!) Excessively "high," overly good, euphoric mood (yeah dude) Extreme irritability ( Bloody tandems) Racing thoughts and talking very fast, jumping from one idea to another (load organiser) Distractibility, can't concentrate well (Manifesting) Little sleep needed (every night on the dz) Unrealistic beliefs in one's abilities and powers (LearningToJump on his crossfire) Poor judgment (LearningToJump on his crossfire) Spending sprees (walking into the gearshop) A lasting period of behavior that is different from usual (hangover) Increased sexual drive (enough said) Abuse of drugs, particularly cocaine, alcohol, and sleeping medications(Safety meetings) Provocative, intrusive, or aggressive behavior (safety officer) Denial that anything is wrong (packers) I dont know but i think the majority of us would have most of these abilities in us. Sorry trying to make a little light humor on this thread.... You can continue now .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

Wing Loadings - who is over?
bigway replied to jumpingjimmy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I dont have any experience on highly loading a canopy so cant say there. I jump a Safire 2 129 loaded at 1.58 (i think). Getting ready for the step down to the crossfire but will not be downsizing as i love this size for time being. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -

Not to bag on you here, but that statement is incorrect. We lost a legend in 2004 from a spinning main (very extreme main) at altitude. You have the right idea with being smart though. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -

Oh, sorry, i dont think i read your post correctly. But yes 205 out the door should put at least 100, at least on a 200/190 first. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -
I agree totally!!! I myself took a month off after a girlfriend leaving me after three years, my car getting stolen and crashed with no inssurance all within 12 hours. Not cause i thought i would kill myself but cause i was depressed and i dont think anybody is rational when they are depressed. or at least they dont have their mind where it needs to be. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

or a coroner. probably a 50/50 chance of either one. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -
I agree with you 100% on everything you said their Ron. The question i was asking was a rhetorical question to the person i was responding to. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

I do not think so. Someone would clarify it for you though. If he can not, a static line could be an option for him. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

Ron, are you saying that there should be something in place for the dzo to know if their passenger has a mental illness. One of my Heroes has a mental ilness, an ex all black/ italian rugby coach. If you are saying this, how could it ever be clarified as to which ilness would prevent you from jumping? I do not know where i would stand on this but it is interesting. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

Wing Loadings - who is over?

I went from a student canopy to a 170 on 25 jumps. I dont see what is wrong with it. A 170 is a good canopy to go down to. Most 190's that are floating around for students to buy are like 170's anyway. Most of these old 190's and 200's are all worn out F1-11's. You are going to get a much better landing on a ZP-190 over a F1-11 190. However, there will be a dramatic difference in the sky. After saying this though. It all depends on your weight out the door. someone who weighs about 160-170 pounds, if they picked up their student canopy skills quickly, they should be alrght on a 170. I am not an instructor, this is my opinion. I sell alot of canopies and help people find what they are looking for and i dont not ever rush anyone to downsize. Though i like to see a student work towards getting on a 170 (weight and skill depending) cause i think a 170 is a perfect canopy for jump numbers of 50-200, then maybe a 149 down to a 129. Anything below those sizes, i dont want to know. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -
I am not for preventing someone from skydiving cause they had a mental condition. However it would not be a breach of human rights, if it was then DZO's could not stop people jumping cause of bone injuries, heart conditions etc as that would also be a breach of human rights. I think it is to the discretion of the DZo as well as what their insurance covers them for. Why do people need medicals for many aspects in life? .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

I am posting this because the guy in question has been asked if he is real or not and with posting this message maybe one of people at the dropzone will see it and help him out in thinking the correct way. Learntofly, this is not an attack at you, i just think you need some help so am posting this so someone can save your life before it is too late. PM from LearningToFly..... Been deleted as i now think it was not nice to post a PM.____________________________ The guy sounds like he is nice person, i dont think we should flame him, i think he needs to be taken aside and helped out. I think the DZO should get his shit togethor and i think whoever sold him this canopy should have any ratings they may have stripped. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -

There is nothing wrong with your wingloading and downsizing there mate. Seems to be a good down size each time over 700 jumps. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -

If landing a plane is more skilled than landing a canopy, are you ready to land a crossfire in someones back yard? You might know how to fly planes and you might know the logic of a canopy as it is the same principle as a wing but mate, you dont know shit about FLYING a CANOPY. I can not believe that you do not listen to these people. are you saying cause you know how to skydive that you know how to base jump as well? Fuckin pilots, think they know everything! .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -

Wing Loadings - who is over?
bigway replied to jumpingjimmy's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
For the fat boys. Dude, you need to get on a safire and learn to fly it. Learn everything about it and then get back on your crossfire. It is good you have the right wingloading for your experience but you dont have the right wingloading for a crossfire let alone enough jumps. I am not kidding you man, i have been selling some ICARUS canopies lately and when speaking to Hector (guy who runs ICARUS spain) he was making damn sure i would not sell the crossfire to anyone under 500 jumps or the VX to anyone under 1000 jumps. I know some kids in the states who jump velocity 99's with only 100 jumps. They are friends, but they are some fucking stupid friends. Just be safe dude. I tell you something, you probably would not be able to jump at any dropzone i know of with a crossfire when you are so uncurrent over three years of only having 56 jumps. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -

Dude, if you are telling the truth about your jump numbers and how long you have been working on those numbers and you jump an elliptical canopy...... That says to me that you are a danger to yourslef and have gone against very important safety guidelines that others before us have put in place. I use to watch Jyro, J.C. and others test Icarus canopies and i respect what Jyro says and the guidelines he puts in place for the canopies that he builds. With all that to think about, I could never trust you in the sky enough to jump with you. Again, it is the internet and i am not trying to offend you, i just cant understand where you think you have enough experience to jump this canopy. Look, you are alive and it is working for you by the looks of things but dont get cocky and think you have experience and when/if you get turned away from other dropzones understand why and dont take offense. Anyway, i got a vx 104 for sale if you want to buy it off me. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -

You have 56 jumps in three years mate. You have fuck all experience unless you are involved in ground canopy training. I am curious you said that jumping is not the only way to get experience, please enlighten me to how you have experience. Whatever though good luck with your skydiving. I think the person who sold it to you is a fool along with the DZO that lets you jump it. Just my opinion though. You should not be on a crossfire at a wingloading of 1.2 let alone 56 jumps in three years, any sane person will tell you that. I am not trying to offend you, i just do not agree with you. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -

On 56 jumps?? Dude, coaching aint going to make up for a lack of 450 landings. Icarus dont want you on a crossfire for around 500 jumps. Sure get on one with three hundred but 56?? I see you are on a vengence, maybe it is an american thig, i dont know, it just dont seem right to me. I got to say, 56 jumps over three years aint exactly current. On a crossfire this uncurrent is not a good thing. The only thing i can think of is this guy is hard into ground launching or something cause there aint going to be many dealers that would sell a guy with this little jumps a crossfire. I know ICARUS would not stand for it. I have just had a big lecture by ICARUS about selling my vx's and crossfires .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -
