well, there may be a crew of us doing the 5 hour drive up there. What is race night though, do we want to be there for that??? is it a must? .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -
Good luck man, I feel for you, i hope this is the one and only time you have pissed them off and hope they ar as forgiving as you need. Man, in life, if you have a problem, go to the owner sit in the office with them and tell them. Owners may look like they dont give a shit cause they are distracted by keeping tons of lives safe but they will take on board what you say and bring it up to other staff when thye can have the chance. You may not see them bring it up to the other staff but they will as owners of anything will always address a complaint even if you do not see them paying attention to it. You are going to feel stupid going back to this DZ, suck it up, then give it time and know the owners appreciate you being there and let them know you appreciate them giving their lives to making it possible for you to jump. Dropzones do tandems so they can make a living and at the same time keep a plane in the air for the sporties. It is not a get rich quick scheme by any means. Good luck mate, i know nothing of dropzones in the states but i respect that you cam back, apologised and did the right thing. In my eyes you have learnt a lesson, now dont forget it or your apology would mean shit. Blue Skies. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

Aggiedave as i respect your opinion i am in agreement with what you are saying. I am basing this off my own experience of chopping and changing. What you are saying is that your students are starting with this and i have no problem with this nor could i imagine any problem with this. What i was trying to get out there is that i do not think it is safe for a student to spend 25 of their first jumps on a analogue and then cause they have an "a" license going buying all the toys. What i was thinking is that if he was trained on a analogue the last thing that student should be worring about is cause they are not now a student to go and change what they have been trained on and buy the toys they can worry about later on. I feel a student a person on 40 odd jumps should be putting there thoughts on opening height, settting up, landing pattern, falling down the tube, back sliding or not, arching, tracking, opening on headings, fall rate etc.... If you have been trained on analogue you should not worry about a digital alti just cause you can, you should stick to what you know while you lear the things that you need to know to stay safe in the sky while keeping consistent and others safe in the sky around you. Once you have got all of the things you need to know then you can change what you know for something a bit different and give that attention. I hope you agree on my answer there, cause if you do not i have got it all wrong. If they are trained on digital, i don not think they should go to analogue, they should stick with the know until they have sussed what they know and then explore. There is no point in worrying about something you do not know about until you are safe in the aspects you know about. A student who is taught to skydive on an alti 2 knows no different. They should stick to what they know until they are 100% as well as the instructors think they are 100% familiar with their equipment. then they can change gear. Of course there are always special circumstances and i could not answer anything to do with those as i do not know the person. As well of not being an instructor...just common sense. I am sure you agree with my explanation. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

Someone has been in incidents. As far as I have read, Pilsfish had a cypres save for what it the cypres is made for. was one of those times you cant bitch at the jumper being a dead man walking. The guy was lucky to have a cypres and i would jump with him anyday, he put his fellow jumpers before himself and cypres was there to back him up. Some people pay packers, some people are also smart enough to buy cypres. I thank him for his experience as i have now botght a cypres. I never thought i needed it, nor did i think i need a cutaway on my helmet, now i have both from his experiences. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

I know people that have got through AFF in 4 days, i know people that have taken 2-4 atempts on every level. If you pay attention, stick with the same instructor, listen instead of talking and thinking you know you could do it very easily. My advice though, i am not an instructor but do level one, give it a day do the next, then try and do two a day. Three a day will wear you out as all your energy is drained as you are not use to it. Do not read anything on these forums about learning AFF, do not listen to any other jumpers, listen to your instructor and that is it. He will teach you one way, if other people tell you things you will fail cause you are listening to others and not what your instructor is saying. Good luck, you will love it and it shall love another falling through it. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

There is only one 6 hour class learning AFF plus briefings. (in countries i know anyway) You only need to worry about the AFF part at first, is 25 jumps not just going for the 'A' license? You want to nail the first 9 out of the way or you will more than likely finding yourself repeating alot of levels. You should do all this at once, over a period of not really any longer than a month. Then keep going back to the same dropzone to do your consolidation jumps till you have 25 and a license. The first 9 jumps are the most critical. I know of many people who have failed levels multiple times and have to keep repaying for that level. You will have a very good chance of failing levels if you do not keep current through the first 9 levels. after that you will just do consols but repeating any aff levels is very expensive. I wish you all the best. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

Sorry, i read it wrong. 3am over here. You dont want to be uncurrent during learning. If you have to, cool. I am glad you are getting into the sport. Just try and get it done all togethor if there is a way for you. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
-
The way you are going about it is dangerous. You do not want to be uncurrent full stop really. To be uncurrent on every jump as a student is not a good idea. Wack it on a credit card or do it over a month. Doing AFF over a year is not the way to go. I am suprised anyone will let you do that. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

Yeah, alot of money. Can you not afford to do it all at once? you could take a week off and get your aff nailed out the way. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

40 jumps, you made the right decision, you aint ready for a neptune. No offense but give it a while. just something else to fuck with your mind, may as well put a camera helmet on. You go to get familiar with the sky. you learn on an analogue, you are still learning, you have so much to get familiar with before you go and change your toys. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

A snivel is when a parachute is coming out and deflating slowly, a snivel would usually mean it is taking 600 feet to 1000 feet or more if it is an extreme pack. Some canopies are made to snivel open, others are packed to snivel open. My canopy takes around 1000 to open and i love it like that. Soft as pillows a great company says! .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
-
Most countries you have to pull by 2000 feet (have it activated) A camera man needs a nice snivel so his neck does not break with camera gear, and they have to get to the ground safely to get in position to video the parachute ride and the landing. The question is dont alot of people die being under canopy at 5000 feet? However, the camera man should not have been anywhere near you. I am guessing you are not being let out correctly as you should not be flying where a camera man is opening his chute after falling down the tube with a tandem. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .

Those are some tight rules mate. I can't believe you need 700 jumps to jump an Icarus Safire 2 129, when you can jump a sabre 2 135. I am guessing ICARUS is not ding very well business over there. Not everyone is aware you can have custom sizes made. I dont agree with those rules but i am sure they were set in place by someone who has a vast amount of experience more than i do so i can respect it. I am glad i have found this out before going over there this summer cause i would have wasted a trip. not having the right canopy. What if you have a small girl on a crossfire 2 and she has to jump a 120, what if that is under the wingloading recommendation from the manufacturer? Then what does she do? Do the majority of jumpers in the netherlands agree with these new rules? how do you feel about them?. .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -

What is wrong with the wingloading? Sure the canopy, but the wingloading on 260 jumps? .Karnage Krew Gear Store . -

I would not say it is a stupid idea, times are changing but it is under borderline. The guy must have balls. There are some yanks i know that were on velocity at 100 jumps. That is stupid!! I would not recommend the vengence on 260 jumps but there is nothing wrong with that wingloading if they had say a safire 2. .Karnage Krew Gear Store .
