No, it was Richard Armitage that told Novak, but actually her husband had been blabbing it to many reporters. That story was such a great example of intentional misreporting. A structural engineer is what we need to help us sort all this out. Not as you say a "civil engineer" ! And your mechanical engineer degree allows you "to identify bullshit". I can do that and I don't have that mechanical engineer degree. Would you like to guess what type of engineering degree I hold? Again You FAIL!! Tell us. Whatever engineering degree you earned, you have now disgraced. It should be revoked. That is a really lame dodge of the question. How close to 1g was it? The near freefall was supposed to be evidence of demolition of the levels below the impact, and that it would not have been so fast had the demolition not occurred. It seems that you are admitting that you're not buying into that. So that is one of the "doesn't add up" items that you are indirectly admitting you do think add up (it really is a big one). Any other "don't add up" items that you do accept? People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. Although I do respect the opinions of those who by hard work, dilligence, and personal discipline keep our railroads on time .., 100% of these engineers disagree with you www.Engineers for9-11truth.com That has no importance, just as there are airline pilots and scientists that are part of the flat earth society, believe that the moon landings were faked... Also, you are wrong about the buildings falling straight down. They did not fall straight down. They just did not fall in a manner in which your Watson-like intuition accepts. Listen Sherlock , here is a clue. Steel doesn't catch fire . It is by nature "fire proof" . That being said steel is a Most Excellent conductor of heat. " Fireproofing" of steel is kinda of a misnomer. The "fireproofing" is meant to keep the steel from transfering high temperature to adjacent combustible materials. You FAIL ! I'll take being called Sherlock a compliment, although I'm sure that is not what you intended. You would then be Watson, the one that is easily fooled, so easily misled. You are wrong about the purpose of the fireproofing coating. Of course it is a misnomer, but the purpose is to prevent loss of strength at high temperature. You are wrong about the ability of the airplane to damage the structure of the building. I think you are using your Watson like abilities when you take the basic premise that the towers were designed to withstand an airliner impact, but I would suspect that the anticipated speed were likely about half what happened (1/4th the energy), and that the fireproofing/insulating material being blown off the steel were likely not anticipated, and the effects of the prolonged fire were likely not part of the 'designed to withstand' airliner impact. My background is mechanical, not civil engineering, but this education does allow me to identify bullshit from quite a long distance. You, Watson, can't tell it is there when it is right under your nose. People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. Are you competing with BV for crappy analogy honors? What you seek to understand with such comparisons will elude you. So sorry that you don't have the background to understand what you don't understand. Some acquire the understanding by hard work, some realize they don't have the understanding and try not to fall for simplistic analogies, and then others believe they can apply crappy analogies and make sense of it all. Any idea into which category you fall? If your argument were sound, then there would be no reason for the fireproofing (heat resistant/insulating) material to be covering the steel of such buildings. The grill analogy shows there is no need for it, right? How about the questions I asked earlier? 1) how fast (accel) did it fall? 2 ) How fast should it have fallen? 3) What things do you think actually do add up that have been in contention by the loose change crowd? People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

Seeing a controlled demolition is actually quite commonplace. In fact it is likely the only kind of building collapse we have seen. Not remarkable then that many would think the WTC collapse resembled a controlled demolition. ***How fast (how close to 1g) did the towers fall? How fast (how close to 1g) should they have fallen? I don't know the answers to the questions I asked you. I most certainly don't know what things you don't agree with in the "don't add up" category. I asked the questions because some have asserted that it fell at freefall/near freefall acceleration. I say that it is critical to be more specific - to say how fast it did accelerate, and how fast it should have. Without that, then to say it fell too fast shows ignorance. So, have it if you can. The structural columns did not fail all at once. They surely had a slight delay - small fractions of a second of difference, as would be expected. Building 7 did not fail from fire alone. It had a huge amount of damage done to it from debris. Do you acknowledge this? The top did begin to fall asymmetrically, but it did impact the lower floors in a way that caused all of it to fail. That you can't see how the two are compatible is not a surprise. There is a lot of stuff in the scientific/engineering realm that isn't intuitive. That is why not just anyone can design a building, or analyze why or how it failed. No matter how much you want it to be something naturally analyzed by the seat of your pants, it is not. So let me see if I am following you, The top (the portion above the impact zone) began to fall over to the side but suddenly all that below it just fell straight down at near freefall speed . Is that your take? What you've done is to describe it in a way that sounds implausible, at least to those that don't know what they don't know. You did say it fell at near freefall, but how close to freefall was it? How close to freefall have all the supposed engineers and scientists that support the conspiracy theory calculated that it should have fallen? If they have calculated it honestly, they would find that it matched what happened. Just because it isn't intuitive doesn't make it wrong. It would not fall ca-chunk ca-chunk like the lady on the loose change video assumed. What part(s) of the conspiracy theory do you not believe? They make a log of assertions - things that don't "add up". Which of the assertions do you think do in fact "add up"? ***The asst fire chief was overly optimistic. The fire wasn't hot enough to melt steel. It was hot enough to weaken it. It's strong enough right up until it isn't strong enough, and then it collapses. So although you weren't there and he was on the floor and had been trained to asses fires and the requirements to place them under control and extinquish them, you discount his proffesional opinion? Really? Riddle me this Batman..; If the fires were hot enough to "weaken" steel how could he have been standing on the same floor as the fire and would a trained firefighter be likely to confuse a fire capable of weakening steel with an office fire easily put out with a couple of hoses? Of course I'm just throwing out my opinion. Of course it is based on nothing at all but conjecture - and what actually happened. Ya, we still have the actual events to help us make those assessments, unless you think it is all part of a massive conspiracy with tentacles reaching out to the tiniest corners of the events on that day...you see I was thinking everything was as officially stated, but then you've got me wondering now that I see a trained firefighter made a bad assessment - wow, that really seals the deal for the conspiracy, how could it be anything else! Not at all. I believe an airliner hit each of the twin towers. I don;t believe that jet fuel burned hot enough and more importantly in a symetrical enough pattern as to simultaneously melt 47 steel columns resulting in a perfectly straight down freefall .., (wait for it) ..twice in one day. Fire is chaotic and random. The buildings each fell in an orderly and structured collapse. They didn't fall perfectly straight down - the tipping of the part above the impact is quite evident, but when that mass impacted what was below, it all failed. They just didn't tip over as much as your seat of the pants engineering sense tells you it should have. I suggest your seat of the pants engineering sense is not well calibrated. ***Having worked for Factory Mutual, which is the Underwriter's Labs of the fire protection industry, I can definitely say that sprinklers are not designed to put out a fire. They are designed to suppress fire to allow the fire dept to get there and battle a hopefully contained, smaller than would otherwise be the case fire. They are also designed to suppress very small fires only - can't deal with a large fire. Even with normal water pressure to the building, it can't deliver the designed flow to the sprinkler heads if it is a huge fire. What do you think of the recording of an assistant fire chiefs' transmission from the impact arae stating that with a couple hoses they could put out the fire in an hour? Is he describing a large steel melting inferno? If the fire was hot enough to melt steel how was he able to stand on that floor? The asst fire chief was overly optimistic. Yes, of course! Microsoft really scared the shit outta you guys, didn't they? I don't think so, thought they might be worthless baggage in the wonderful but extremely everything is different but not at all intuitive world of Macs. Thanks is it just me, or does anybody comprhend wtf you just said? Just being a bit cynical. This isn't my first encounter with a Mac, but it certainly reminds me that I've never understood how people think that they are more intuitive to use. Everything is so convoluted. I suppose that people studying how the human brain works should study how people adapt when going from PC to Mac or the other way around. I appreciate what you say about being smart about downloading, but I've had my local trusted PC doctor tell me that there are so many viruses that are had from sites that are so seemingly innocent, such as kid's game sites. Perhaps those viruses are the more initially benign in nature, but they eventually use up resources, blah blah. Do Macs have that sort of anti-spyware/adware/whatever built in, or are they just not vulnerable? For my PCs, besides current antivirus, I love adblocker addons to Firefox - so nice to not have ads and all that web tracking bullshit, and I've already added that to the Mac.
