If students know that the data from the audible can be downloaded, it is possible to have an extra way to prevent dependency, because you can confirm whether they actually waited for the warning to pull or cutaway.     Pro - The purpose of diconnecting is to make it easier for your main to get out of the way. Even a slight hesitation to extract the RSL lanyard out of its channels, possibly unmate velcro, pull on reserve cable, etc. could be bad if the main does a fast spin around your reserve during a slightly delayed main departure. edit: Also, it takes away a snag point of the lanyard shackle especially, where the thing could grap a line of your reserve after cutting away. Con - takes some time...another procedure to do for only some emergencies. As a former senior-level design engineer at Honda R&D, I tell you it is unbelievable how much is spent to improve the ratings from that piece of crap survey. I'm confident the other mfgs do the same.     Why do you think you want to get the Ipod and not a competitior? If I wanted to give it to someone for use at a construction site, I sure as hell wouldn't want it to be expensive. A hard drive is definitely a bad idea.     Quite right. I would say that the attack on the Pentagon is in a different class than the attack on the Trade Center precisely because it was an attack on a military target. It is still an act of war worthy of a violent response, but not at all so easily defined as terrorism. Of course the attack on the Pentagon also had to involve the death of lots of non-military civilians, but it was not really different than a traditional military surprise attack that might start a war.
