Ferguson Redidents Rioted Because of Police Treatment? Think Again!
skycop replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
Really? Thanks for the lecture, you realize I actually live this. Sigh................ Again, glorifying criminal behavior: Ugly, yep Out of policy, maybe 360lb man, engaging in criminal behavior, decides to resist, but I'm sure that's just "random violence". Moral relativism at it's finest.............. Be careful what you wish for............ For those in the real world, the trenches; http://blackamericaweb.com/2015/05/26/don-lemon-baltimore-crime-is-off-the-charts-guess-who-is-to-blame/ Stop patrolling, no Stop communicating, no Stop being proactive, yes It's a fine line, one urban areas are about to confront. SOME may not like it, but they are same ones who scream and complain when the crime rate skyrockets. Again, be careful what you wish for. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -
Ferguson Redidents Rioted Because of Police Treatment? Think Again!

Yep, Something to joke about............ There are many good people suffering because of skewed views, many of which have been proven false. Accountability is one thing, glorifying criminal behavior is another. "Mark my words"...........oh wait, never mind............... "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -

http://baltimore.cbslocal.com/2015/05/25/police-26-shootings-9-fatal-over-memorial-day-weekend-in-baltimore/ This happens when the police decide being proactive is a bad idea. There wasn't "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -

I give you the educated left........... They rioted because of a criminal, engaging in criminal behavior, and a media engaged in promulgating a false narrative. But it's water under the bridge now, facts don't matter............ "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -
In this case it certainly appears so, this is a huge mess and is going to take years to figure out. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

There are two main groups, The Blue Knights, they are pretty benign. But still enjoy the whole vest and color thing, I never got that. I joined for a year and it just wasn't for me. The Warthogs are a different story, it's cops and firemen. They run it like a wanna-be 1% club, I just don't get it. I know a few guys in, but I don't get the attraction. They aren't hiding behind their badges, they are flaunting them, which again, I just don't get or agree with. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Same here, with the exception of the Patriot Guard Riders. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

There has been a new revelation in the investigation.............. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Well if biker gangs had "advocates" running around screaming to the national media every time a club member was perceived to be slighted. And the "advocates" did so on some things that didn't even happen, or they start shaking down Harley Davidson for money. Then start making that assertion. But that's not going to happen, because it is, Apples vs. Oranges. But our friends on the left want to squeeze juice from both and call it lemonade............. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"
-
It's easy, they already have. They are called Outlaw Biker Gangs, GANGS. GANGS that shot each other ALOT, GANGS that apparently were shot by the police ALOT, GANGS that engage in criminal activity ALOT. A criminal is a criminal, the ones who were involved will be prosecuted, the ones who weren't and just there will have the cops come down on them for quite a while. TRYING to add a racial component to this is as much bullshit as I've ever seen. Are you just looking for something to get offended about? "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

When I first started in the 80's many of the 1%er's around here were Vietnam Vets who had the FTW mentality, and who could blame them. They just checked out of the society that treated them badly, again I understood. Those dudes would have never got into such a gunfight with the cops right there. It still would have happened, but in a much different manner, in a different place. There was a big fight/showdown in Nevada a while ago, but it pales in comparison to this. Many younger 1%er's now are just anti-social punks, they have no underlying reason to be that way. I've never really had a problem with most older or smart 1%er's, the last thing they want is attention from the cops. After this they are going to get it, a lot. That's bad for club "business". It's amazing, people act as if community policing is something new, it's not, I've been doing it for almost three decades. Proactive policing reduces crime rates, there has to be a balance. Right now the rank and file in some major cities feel under siege by political leadership and have backed off accordingly. The crime rate will rise accordingly. Had the prosecutor not been hasty in charging the officers involved, this situation could have been minimized. The population most vulnerable will also be most affected by the rise. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

The police in Baltimore have gone to reactive based policing as predicted, this trend is also happening in other major cities. http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/crime/blog/bs-md-ci-shootings-homicides-20150511-story.html Like it or not, proactive policing is one of main reasons crime rates were at all time lows the last decade. As the cops back off criminals will fill the vacuum, violent crime rates will trend up significantly in major urban areas. This same scenario happened in Cincinnati Ohio after the riots there in 2001. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

Trolling at it's finest, rather than making me mad, it just makes me shake my head and sigh. This is the essence of the radical anti-police crowd, they make accusations, yell, scream, but in the end they really have no point. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

The metaphorical meaning(s) of the song..............sorta Could be made to fit the current unrest, sorta...... Plus a little Rush applied to anything never hurts......;) "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

There is unrest in the forest There is trouble with the trees For the maples want more sunlight And the oaks ignore their pleas The trouble with the maples (And they're quite convinced they're right) They say the oaks are just too lofty And they grab up all the light But the oaks can't help their feelings If they like the way they're made And they wonder why the maples Can't be happy in their shade There is trouble in the forest And the creatures all have fled As the maples scream 'Oppression!' And the oaks just shake their heads So the maples formed a union And demanded equal rights 'The oaks are just too greedy We will make them give us light' Now there's no more oak oppression For they passed a noble law And the trees are all kept equal By hatchet, axe and saw "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

When I train guys that is one of the first things I tell them, and they better learn to accept it. Use the training to make it harder for someone to get you, by using proper tactics. I also tell them if they think they are walking the line of death everyday, they aren't. The job mainly consists of writing reports and dealing with a wide variety of people. Hours and hours of boredom and routine, interrupted by moments of sheer terror. BUT........ When things go bad, they go bad quick, an they go bad..........well, bad. The majority of deadly encounters are in the dark, within three feet, within 3 seconds. And they better be prepared for it. I almost haven't made it home a couple of times, each time my training and instincts saved my ass. But all it takes is once. Sometimes instincts and training aren't enough and you have what happened in Mississippi. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!"

A little sensitive are we? I never said they were incompetent, did you miss the part where I said I respected what they did/do? It's not an issue of ability, in my experience it's an issue of quantity vs. quality and what is lost to both. PD's are like every other profession, there are good ones, bad ones, decent ones etc. Unfortunately it's the luck of the draw sometimes, you know that as well as I do. Same goes with prosecutors. It's funny, I give even the slightest perceived slight of something you hold dear, and you go all medieval. But when I challenge cop bashers with actual facts it's different. Challenged and met with same. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -

Public defenders aren't crappy attorneys, they are underpaid, have huge often unmanageable case loads, and some lack experience. I used to run with several back when I was young, they were fun to hang out with and I liked most of them a lot, and respected what they did. They were the same of me. When you are in true legal jeopardy, you get what you pay for. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -

Blah......blah.... As usual. You're right, high profile lawyers never line up to sue for police misconduct. Nor do some make a living suing police departments. "Just 'cause I'm simple, don't mean I'm stewpid!" -

Everyday, And that matters how? If you got in trouble, would you not seek the best counsel available? Or would you, in seeking "social justice" take a crappy public defender? We all know when it comes to criminal defense, money talks. Spend enough money and reasonable doubt is more likely to appear. And yes it applies to thugs, who have money as well........... You're right, they had no probable cause, they did have reasonable articulable................??? You may not like it, or agree with it, but.............. http://nypost.com/2015/05/05/the-dangers-of-de-policing-will-cops-just-stand-down/ Hmmm...........show me hard evidence of 90%, or else it's just hyperbole, wait it is hyperbole........... Nope, hence the criminal charges Isn't there some type of due process thingy that could apply here? The NUMEROUS arrests for a variety of crimes, including several felonies did that all on it's own.
