This started as an uneventful 3way RW jump from 13,500 ft (4200m). On landing the jumper made a final turn at a low altitude and struck the ground. He was attended to by firemen and the SAMU but deceased where he landed.

Yup - we've had this discusion before. It's a good suggestion. I will be making some changes to the Classifeds to make it even easier to use in the future. Safe swoops Sangiro

Dude, that's a rabbit in lambs clothes... don't let them fool you! Stick to your standards, however low they may be. Safe swoops Sangiro

Was she the one who was tied up at the Hellfish tent throughout the convention? Don't despair my good friend. I managed to get a picture of her for you! Safe swoops Sangiro

No harm done. Opinion noted and valued.

Justin, I believe people have the right to associate with whomever they want and can stay away from whomever they like. It bugs me that we seem turn every piece of fun into a huge political or social issue. It's not. It's just a bunch of folks having fun and who have been doing it for a long time before I gave them a "house" for their list. Life just isn't always that serious mate. If you and I decide to have a BBQ at my place (which I hope we will) and by our own choosing decide not to invite your non-skydiving neighbors over, well... I'm not going to loose sleep about that either. Again, this is not a political statement or big issue. It may be time to lighten up a bit. If I ever quit skydiving it will be because there are too many people who take themselves too seriously and have forgotten that this was about fun in the first place. PS - can you please publish all the phone numbers on your mobile here? I'd hate for you to have an "exclusive list" of people that only you can talk to... You and I can agree to disagree. We've been friends long enough to do that.

No it wasn't. I'm in a salt mine in Siberia... Safe swoops Sangiro

David Brandal (have you had dealings with him?)
sangiro replied to Jumpmunki's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Closing thoughts before I lock this thread. (This is the consumer alert part) I emailed this individual as well and he replied with a list of promises, which he broke. Every one of them. I followed up again later and he ignored me. I will not usually get involved in classifieds dealings but this was the second person who filed a complaint about him. Don't deal with him. Good luck Wayne. Safe swoops Sangiro -
Did you leave it with your (ex)Skymonkey hat? Oops! Safe swoops Sangiro

Heya all, See the emails below. These scams have been going on for a while in the classifieds. They resurface from time to time. The scammers use different names and the exact form of the offer may vary. Here's some simple and general advice to protect yourself from becoming a victim: DO NOT do business with anyone who offers to send you payment for a higher amount than your selling price with the understanding that you'll send back the balance. Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be acting on behalf of a "client" or another "customer". Be suspicious of anyone claiming to be from Nigeria or West Africa If you agree to accept a check payment, then do not send anything, gear or "change" before the check cleared. And be careful, if you manage to clear a fraudulent check then you may be liable for the damages if the bank finds out later. Make sure your bank authenticates the check. If it sounds to good to be true, then it probably is. Some examples of scam emails: and another... and another... and another.... and another... and another.... and another.... more... and more... No it doesn't. Tom stopped that thread because it was way overdue. It was filled with a bunch of (I can only assume) adults, acting like adolescents. Not sure how long you've been on Dropzone.com but let me help you understand my position. I could care less if you're the wildest and roughest BASE jumper to have ever graced this planet. If you break the simple rules of this forum by losing yourself in petty personal attacks (which that thread was bursting with) then I will gladly shut down your access to these forums and this site. Trust me, there were others who thought it couldn't be done... I have long come to understand that it's impossible to please everyone. I'm not trying. Simple rules. Stick to them. I don't care who you are. It's not Russia but Freedom of Speech is for democracies. This is not a democracy, it's my house. If you piss on my porch then expect that I will help you out the front gate. Treat others with respect and I will return the favor. If not, well... I will return that favor as well. Heya, Does your DZ review have this? Probably not as I've just added this feature. Go back and update your DZ reviews. It's a great way to provide others with information about the places you've jumped at and helps us build a comprehensive resource about DZs around the globe. To see all your Reviews: 1) Click on your name in the forums to bring yup your profile 2) Click on the "Reviews" tab in your profile 3) Scroll past the gear reviews to your DZ reviews listed at the bottom 4) Click on "Modify your Review" on the right next to each of your reviews. Don't just rate everything a 5... or a 1. (Unless it really is) Think about it a bit in relation to other DZs you've jumped at. Just rating them all at the highest or lowest will probably erode the credibility of your review. No one is either that great or sucks that much... but of course I could be wrong! Here's what a complete review should look like. That's it! Enjoy!

If you have listed a DZ in the Dropzone Database then you should drop in and Modify your DZ to include the airport information. In the near future Dropzone.com will be doing some cool geomapping (nearest DZ from a specific address etc) and you may miss out on that potential traffic and jumpers if you don't have this information in the database. Click here to Modify your DZ Safe swoops Sangiro
