Heya all, I need to conserve some bandwidth here. Busting my bandwidth limits cost me $hundreds extra every month. So, in TalkBack you can now attach a max of 5 files per post with a max size of 60 KB each. If you save your file as a JPG that should be more than enough! The 60 KB size limit also applies to all other forums but there's no limit on the number of files you can attach to posts in topical forums.

Thanks for the info Max. I'm sure I could send email to UK phones. In the UK simple text messaging has become a way of life. In the US people barely use it. The service provider who gets my contract is the one who allows me to send a simple text message directly to a phone number in Africa, Europe or the East and it gets there... with no strings attached. Technology should be pervasive (something as simple as text messaging anyways!) I should not have to have to think about whether the person I'm sending it to is in London or on the next block. I'm slightly annoyed at the fact that I'm struggling with it over here. It has become a large part of how I communicate with my friends and family... Funny thing is I never even though that if someone tells me "yes, we do offer text messaging", that I should ask: "Does that include international texy messaging?". It's just expected to be what it is in most other countries in the world. Live and learn. -

Seeing as we have an expert in the house (or to anyone who may know), which of these offer international phone-to-phone text massaging? I know AT&T doesn't. Just got them a few weeks ago, didn't know this and I'm considering killing my contract and paying the penalty just to have this. I know people on many continents! -

I have certainly considered those tags. I am pretty confident that I will not be doing anyone any favors by adding them.... Just to give one example (there are many): What happens to these forums when someone link to a image of 3000 x 2000 pixels? What happens to the layout? What happens to the page-load time? What happens when the page that hosted the pic removes it after a day? Safe swoops Sangiro

Guys, Be considerate when you post attachments to this site. I have no intention on preventing you from attaching whatever you want (for now) but as a matter of courtesy, don't turn this into a display case for your private porn collection. Every time you upload a file (especially a large image) to my server you bite into my bandwidth. If a hundred people decide they need to see the pic (knowing this crowd, I'm sure the number is much higher for porn!) then you start doing some unnecessary damage. If you really feel the urge to share porn, consider creating a link to the pic on another site rather than uploading it to my server. Be smart about it and I won't have to take steps to prevent myself from paying stupid amounts every month because we bust my bandwidth limits. Thanks.

That is true for Google and other search engines. Only the forum main page, forum view and flat view post pages are "search engine friendly". That means Google won't pick up your email address unless it's on a post somewhere. I'm not convinced there aren't email harvesters that can't crawl dynamic pages though.... Safe swoops Sangiro
