  1. Pretty much that is it (read above) as far as how to. I personally use 600 for the helmet 800 for the primer and then 2000 on final 1/16” tape instead of 1/8” not as flexible as the 3m but you can coat it with a clear base to avoid bleeding. Yeah I think I did about 12 samples before I started. Green has fluorescent base, over black then candy apple green and translucent green. Black part was detail jet black. Green metal flake all over, and when you think its enough flake do another coat, since really sparkly was the request. Trust me the pictures don’t do any justice to how it looks under the sun. Other than letting the primer overnight, it pretty much took me 14 hours of work. She makes the helmet look pretty darn good. ...
  2. Again If someone doesn't have the ability or skills to maintain alititude awareness &/or stay out of the way and be safe while doing video maybe they should not have a camera on just yet. so you look at your alti while you are shooting video? or you had the built in height awarness when you started? and those who don't shouldn't bother starting? i agree they should be safe able to stay out of the way if need be. but come on man you gotta start somewhere. so by this you are putting the blame on the camera guy who shouldn't have had a camera in his head, cuz he : A. didn't have the ability or skills to maintain altitude awareness (enough to know that pull time was near) B. didn't have the ability or skills to be safe (by not being on top of the tandem at pull time) yes you gotta start somewhere.... but if you screw up, don't try to blame the TI for not taking care of the mess you made. ...
  3. you can also use a smaller or bigger glitter and add stuff here and there. Best way to get the full effect out of the candy & glitter for pics will be in the sun and its still looks better in person ...
  4. operating cost is a big part of it, no big dea lif you want to leave it out, but then you gotta even the balance out. the 20 that the funjumper pays X (plane fuel, insurance manifest, lease admin.) for operating cost and the rest is profit. The 175 that the tandem pays is X * 2 for operating cost (plane fuel, insurance manifest, lease admin.) $30 for the instructor $45 for gear (rig, helmet, goggles, jumpsuit etc) so your initial $175 is now $100 minus the operating cost of the fun jumper; lets call it $88 for argument sake. so now you can compare a $88 tandem vrs a $20 fun jumper and have them on the same scale (give or take a couple of bucks) ...

  8. how is that different from any other tandem rig? I only have experience in vector/sigma and limited on the racer, but why would any tandem system keep a main in, after the droge is out and a release handle has been pulled? ...
  9. I agree with the renewal of the uspa, just didnt know why it was necesary on the first place. thanks for the clarification. ...
  10. would the opportunity cost apply to lets say two experienced jumpers visiting the dz, since they take up the same two slots? regarding USPA membership...how would this person be different than any other tandem? There seem to be a lot of people saying that it is ok to charge the $50, cuz if things go bad then it would look bad on the dz.... so the $50 woud prevent things from going bad? and if not, then is $50 worth taking the risk of a tandem going bad at your DZ? ...

  16. I have a pc-5 that was going into moisture lock in the first jump of the day, camera has about 650 jumps. Humidity will eventually kill them, it works fine in none humid environments, but its too much of a pain for houston. Needless to say, I had to retire it and get a new one just cuz it became too unreliable. a quick fix for mine during the last days of use was putting it inside my car with the A/C running at full speed or the freezer and a fan. Good luck. ...
  17. get a dvd burner not computer one so that it can be used with streaming video, that allows for linear editing. This will make it just like using a vcr. They run about $365.00 give or take depending on the bells and whistles. DVD's wether its -r or dvd+rw will run you anywhere from .50 to a buck. ...

  20. ok I have been jumping spectres for the past about 700 jumps or so and other than your 2 inches which might be a contributing factor the only thing I could tell you is check your toggles for twist. If you end cells are not open odds are you have slack on your lines and toggles might be twiting themselves and eventually will end with tension knots. Add a tension knot to an allready 2" short toggle and that might be the reason for the turn. Never had any problems with mine except for one that I was testing which was completely out of trim. ...
