keithbar........No one gives a fuck if you have a body count or not. A lot of that is "wrong place, wrong time!" You did your time in "the big green machine" and hopefully got out of it relatively intact. You're a VET!!

She prolly won't let you. turtlespeed........Funny. I like her work and plan on being a customer.

riggerrob......does that mean the Canadian police will start arresting those evil, wicked, mean, politico's that drive around in those armored SUV's (approx. $100K plus cost of vehicle)? Oh that's right......they're so special.
-
champu......count me as a +1 on your cynical translation.

I think we will see a lot worse, as Dodd/Frank get's fully implemented under that agency set-up by that high cheeked-boned native American from the NE. Some have said it's worse than obamacare. For starters, real" live time" snooping by the government of your EVERY financial transaction. Total access by the government to your most private business. I believe (don't hold me to this time period) that it was two January's ago that my banks required me to sign paperwork on every account regarding Dodd/Frank. If I recall correctly it was "cover your ass" paperwork so you could not come back on them and sue if the government misused your account info and/or confiscated funds . This however is just a microscopic piece of that approx. 2,500 page bill with approx. 200 pages of rules being written for each page of the bill as we speak. This info will come in handy so the dee cee rulers can "punish their enemies".

I think most times politico's use the word reasonable, it really means the exact opposite......"The Reasonable Body Armor Possession Act". ........with prison terms up to 10 years (sounds "fair") sarc switch off. Seems like a solution looking for a problem, in other words, more politico hackery. It is amazing what these hacks and their staffs can come up with around election time to crow about. As far as type 3 goes, I believe pretty much any round larger than 7.62 and over approx. 1500ft/per sec will penetrate. Maybe as a fund raiser these clowns could put a vest on and auction off live fire tests on them. Hell, broadcast on pay per view, I'd buy in.

ryoder......speedy recovery

dot txt.....Your very welcome! Rotating your ankle will seem very stiff at first, almost like you can't do it, but with your mental and physical "can do" you will start to get small circles and they will grow larger over time.

wmw999.......my advice.....never quit. It seems to me a lot of people I know "go horizontal" shortly after retiring. Also, a lot of retiree's (mainly men)....if they are still vertical, talk about the job they used to work at as the focus of the conversation. I'm not necessary saying the same job all your life, but something. I love it when I meet an older person in their own business......they generally have passion for business, fun, life in general, and with employee's of all ages they are in tune with the world around them.

Krip........I'm guilty of optimistic WAG-ing it on recovery response. The rest of the post was meant to be helpful, and from personal experience, which was asked for.

dot txt......I'm going to apologize to you and anyone who reads this in advance (my posts tend to be too long). I broke mine when I was a youngster working for Uncle Sam (high winds, bad spot, night). I was in great physical shape, a factor that has since been proven to promote quicker healing. So keep working on your physical conditioning, it will shorten recovery. Back in the day, they would throw some plaster around you, and immobilize for a long period of time.......now with removable casts etc. you are working the injury (range of movement almost right away). I tweaked that same ankle in a mountain bike crash (damn clip less, still use them?).The Doc gave me a stretchy material (like a large rubber band) that I used as part of my morning routine. You can hook it around the legs of non movable furniture and hook your ankle in the other end and pivot your ankle keeping heel against floor putting as much resistance in play as you want. Change angle after X amount of reps. Also, as part of my morning deal (forever), is standing balancing on one foot lifting other knee as high as you feel comfortable and rotating ankle one direction than other, also straight up and down ten times than switch to other side. If your balance or ankle strength is not up to the task initially, grab a piece of furniture to stabilize yourself. The above mentioned ankle rotations could also be preformed many times a day from a sitting position if you have a desk job. An old martial arts mindset is to work your injury or weak side with twice as many reps as your strong side (you will have to work into this especially after an injury). If you have access to water, swimming is a great way to bring your ankle back, especially if you throw on some big ass fins. Just remember initially (especially with fins), you ankle will fatigue quickly at first.....so parallel the shoreline so we don't read about you. The above mentioned activities will get you beyond an "acceptable range of movement". Depending on the injury, you should be able to get back to 95-97 % in time. If you are younger.....one year and you should be rocking. As far as pain, it will decrease with time. However, a tweak may show up from time to time and remind you of your past. As you age, if this happens more and more, you can get it "scoped" (to clean it up).... kind of like changing the oil. I'm not a fan of "taping" an injury. Happy healing.

Krip.......Thanks, yes, no rings, no watches, or conductive belt buckles, steel toed boots, or anything else of that nature. The paracord I wear has plastic (break away clasp) and fits tight to my wrist which is covered by a couple of layers of protective clothing and insulated gloves that go to my elbows. Safety is our number one concern.

I fly with those no matter what, I'm a little attached to them I see......well, good on you
-
I thought you where asking about boobies Darn, I need break out the reading glasses. I don't see a problem flying what you want, as long as you are comfortable in the air. I guess I see them as a minor accessory, it's not like your becoming a wing suit pilot...yet.
-
Conundrum.....yes, for years. Goes around wrist daily. Part of my dress for survival er success wardrobe. A quick tourniquet or splint could save your ass or a limb, or someone else's. I work at sites, and under conditions where people get hurt. Goes with the territory. Mine are not colorful. I prefer them to blend in with out standing out. As you no doubt know they have 100's of potential uses, only limited by your imagination. Gnarly is the collar.
-
airdvr.....I'm sure your right. Now if I can just get my one track mind off that suggestion and back into work.......
-
billvon......I would go with "Seedy" link. Your pic looks just like some low voltage lighting we removed from an outdoor restaurants stairway some time ago. They wanted to remodel, and LED was called for .

Congrads! Looks like a proud Dad having fun

dthames...Thanks, glad you have it solved. Yes, changing the plugs can be a real "knuckle buster". Happy motoring.
