  1. Before getting into my rant, I want to say BIGUN has my 2016 prez vote. It sure isn't going to be Hill, Jeb, or Liz. I like the Discovery's and contemplated buying one once for my work/play in remote locations. They, like others have said, are tough off-road vehicles and used by military worldwide. It was disappointing to see the vid of vehicle destruction. Such a waste of resources. I don't buy the doing a service to American public "safety issue". Hell, just look at the pic's from Ms. Jenner's crash and tell me you wouldn't want to have been in the H2 (similar style of vehicle). This is just another political and greedy government power grab using their three letters agencies to go after people with their more common than not "guilty until proven innocent mentality". Despicable! The arguments against no air bags, proper belts, emissions are nothing but canards. If that was true a 50-60 billion dollar a year business of after market and custom car/truck/bike parts would not have customers or many less. That number was put out on the air by a K & N representative who was a guest on the Ron Armenian car show last weekend or the weekend before. I believe the above mentioned actions are for the most part instigated by politicians going after their enemies or donors and supporters of their rivals. I vaguely remembered a incident involving Bill Gates many years ago (more on that later), which I goggled, turning up a number of incidents......I eliminated any that were related to drug, tax, or other illegal stuff (whether true or not).... *Feds took 1994 Cizeta V-16 valued at $700,000.00 from Family Classic Cars in San Juan Capistrano because did not meet EPA or safety regs. *Federal Judge blasts procedures used in Suffolk City, NY to seize a Ferrari with out due process. Back to Bill Gates, he had a very rare Porsche 959 (Allen his former partner had one too) imported into the USA. They were sized by the feds and held/stored "carefully" for awhile. They (Gates, Allen, Campena [spell? I know and have talked with...] ) were able to get the law changed. The laws wording was "To allow autos of interest" to by-pass regs. FYI, as of a couple of years ago their cars could be seen in the Seattle and Bellevue areas. This is a very subjective law and obviously the Discovery owners weren't the richest man/woman in USA as well being one of the ruling elites favorite progressives. Maybe most reading this don't give a shit, because oh it's just some "rich fucks" losing their toys. Oh contraire, look at government illegal confiscation of cash and banks accounts (I think ryoder posted a thread on that). Explain your reason for having $2000.00-$3,000.00 cash on you when headed to your next boggie as you are pulled over on the freeway for no apparent cause by a "Viper Teams" (google it), in which your cash is "confiscated". Then do a profit and loss on travelling back to said state to hire lawyer, go to court, attempt to get $$$$ back.....not worth it. Total rip off. LE can talk all they want about having "reasonable cause" (and the posters her may very well operate like that, I dunno) but in the real world there are many, many examples of what I would describe as illegal government confiscation.....eminent domain being a a Huge one......Stop "major thread drift". Anyway, bottom-line this seizure and destruction of these Discovery's is pure subjective political bullshit under current laws enforced by the ruling elite to their ends. We all owe it to ourselves, family, and community to start a major house cleaning of politico's of all stripes at a local level. The dee-cee crowd and their sleeping partners (lobbyist's) have their positions fortified.......for now. Edit correction...I meant to say Defender, not Discovery.

  8. Yes BillyVance, I'm sure you are right about your Bro. I see Alabama...Damn good football team (plus some other stuff) vs. Kauai and The Napoli Coast, Surfing, perfect weather, snorkeling or diving with dolphins, whales, and sea turtles, fishing for fresh Ahi, and most excellent pakalolo (or so I have been told)...........hell, there I go projecting again Apologies for the 180 degree thread misdirection.
  9. Yes kuai43...........date plus size supermodels
  10. turtlespeed, I meant to say freestanding (brain lock). Glad you are working in your area of interest. I unexpectedly needed the services of an ER a few years ago and made a decision to use one of those freestanding ER's. Worked out well for me and would do again.
  11. Work. Gunna build some stuff. Hey turtlespeed.......were you able to get involved in construction of those portable ER's that you indicated an interest in, not too long ago?
  12. Hey dzswoop717.......not necessary. I totally understand because I am computer challenged also. Besides, when you are the business owner there are always 10 other more important things that needed to be done......yesterday. Thanks for the thought.
  13. Hey dzswoop717.....as impressive as buying your own airport is, you can't just mention a 55 Chevy with out showing us some pic's. Kidding aside, much success at your new local.
  14. BIGUN........So, all those recent earthquakes in Oklahoma are just you firing up your new "hog" ? A very sweet ride!
  15. One guy that no matter how long he showered, when back in public view, it was as if someone dumped axle grease over his head.....and he stunk. Thus the name "pig-pen."
  16. sundevil777......just my two cents. Which ever way you go, replace the in- tank fuel pump. A replacement OEM comparable can be had for $75.00-$100.00 new. Although some manufactures claim they (fuel-pumps) are good for life of vehicle, my life's experience has been otherwise. Happy wrenching.
  17. muff528.......great idea!
  18. oldwomanc6.............kinda surreal in a calming way. No worries about oil on the jumpsuit going front float on that baby. Thanks from me too.
  19. Nataly.........Hey, sounds like you have a good plan.Perhaps some dates should be thanking you for not wasting their time and money too.
  20. rehmwa.........that mindset should terrify you. Watch the vid compilation on Zerohedge. Parts of it you maybe familiar with. http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2014-04-06government-confiscation-and-lifting-veil-401k-scheme
  21. indyz.........try Grainger.com Put "steel cable cutter" in search box. You didn't say whether hard or soft steel, or gauge. Anyway there are several choices. We use Greenlee or Klein brand cable cutters mostly because of the no questions asked replacement, even when the tool destruction is clearly our fault. Grainger does have other brands as well. If it's for rigging purposes you should be able to find something in the $100 range. Just a reminder that a larger cutter gives you more leverage with less effort (in case you are looking at doing many repetitions).

    Name a beer

24fps.....here goes..... Your thickest and darkest brew "Black Death". ? brew.... "Eddy Hopping." ? brew....."Auger-in", and served with the "Single-trac Special (menu item?), Or a mix of sampler brews on a tray called the "Yard Sale." ?brew...... "biner" Brew.
  23. mx19.......I viewed three times. With red..... I think the "brightest" from visual point of view, but tools are not quite the best mix (will explain later). With blue..... the "calmest or mellow, eloquent" colors (but I'm not sure if that is what you want ) With black..... My least favorite, but it is "more of bread and butter" if that is the appeal. My initial take on tools. On first view they look very "stick-like" meaning they don't look like modern tools in design. I understand you are probably limited on choices by whatever program your using (this is just my nit-picky input). For example the hammers of today don't have a pronounced grip like the one shown. Also, what "oddly" keeps jumping out at me is the safety factor. Darn screwdrivers are dangerous in up position.....I could fall on logo and hurt myself. Your trying to appeal to a cross-section of trades I get that, but the tool mix is off to me. A corkscrew with a hammer (wino carpenter
  24. funjumper101.......yes, times do change. Judging yesteryears actions with today's propagandizing media (to include Fox news) controlled by the ruling elites, sets up today's "morals". Of course rules for you and I......but not them. They can still kill USA citizens and family with drones, take your property (eminent domain), take your money and redistribute your money to "their" causes (obamacare taxes, income taxes, gas taxes, federal inheritance taxes [now 50% was 0], etc.). And, they can legally do "insider trading" (which would put most in prison....Martha Stewart). Lie (which was actually put into a bill that was passed awhile back....paraphrasing,the government can legally lie to citizens without repercussions...),sorry I should be working, no time to goggle link). In simpler times (yesteryear)," the do onto others as you would have them do onto you" was the "sort of moral standard". But IMO opinion, those standards go out the door when it comes to war. By "todays morals" my grandpa, dad, and hell, even myself (as well some other posters here) would be considered war criminals. "Two faced son of a bitches" most definitely......I put that directly on the backs of the ruling elite. Slight thread drift ......Fox News or Faux News is owned by Murrdock a progressive that has openly supported Hillary ($200K-$300K in her last attempt). I see the propagandist as the same.
