  1. If you didn't hear, folding@home is now available to all online playstation 3 users. Brief article here I'm happy to say my ps3 has completed 8 work units so far.
  2. Playing Resistance: Fall Of Man right now and really into it. Until a new Ace Combat game comes out my answer is Resistance. I read that Dragon's Lair is coming out soon for the new playstaion (Blu-Ray format). Not my favorite but one of my favorite memories was beating that game at a friend's house on his Panasonic REAL 3DO. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  3. For the money I'd go with DLP. I own two Samsungs and have been very happy with them. First one was a 50" and my new one is 61". They're unable to hang on a wall but are only about 14" deep. My new sammy has a 10000:1 contrast ratio and produces really nice blacks and does 1080p resolution with the right signal coming in i.e. Blu-ray. I plan on having it professionaly calibrated once I get a new A/V receiver, a better subwoofer and what else? Oh yeah, pay for my upcoming wedding The down side to DLPs are bulb replacement (once every 2-3 years about $170 i think) and something called rainbow effect. A small percentage of people see a trail of red/blue/green if moving their eyes from something like white text to a black backround. I'm included in that small percentage but it's not a deal breaker. My Fiancee and friends don't see it at all. Check out vanns.com for great service and fast shipping. They got my TV to me on a Friday when I placed the order on a Monday. Cheers, Chris --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  4. Just because my Mom will get a laugh I made this one. Sorry but this is the crap I've been hearing about for the past couple of weeks. The Maid of Honor has obviously read this "Dummies" book. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  5. It's her hat, honest! I stick to baseball caps. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  6. calling stores such as gamestop or eb games around 12pm-2pm is about as good as you can do right now. Nintendo can't even keep their handheld DS stocked right now so it isn't likely stores will be getting any soon. Personally I found the Wii to lose it's novelty pretty quickly. Mine has been at my brother's house since Jan 13th and I'm not missing it. Playstation 3, on the other hand, would be a different story. That's a cool but expensive system. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  7. Slappie, I recommend visiting www.avsforum.com. You'll be able to find info on every kind of television out there to help you make your decision. I voted DLP but mine is two years old and in dark scenes I have trouble w/ "rainbow effect". If I move my eyes quickly across the screen I see red/blue/green lines that can get annoying. The picture in HD is stunning though, and while watching regular DVDs through a Samsung upconvert player. Here is a screen shot of Arrested Development. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  8. Are you at the flying pig by chance? --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  9. I'll have to give that a listen cause I-I like to party. It took 2-3 viewings for me to warm up to it but it came free on blu-ray w/ the PS3 so I'm not complaining. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  10. No bans, 6 years. I should start shaking things up a bit huh? --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  11. Awesome Sunny I just finished mine a couple hours ago. All going towards the wedding. One more year before I can purchase a 1080P (Full HD) display for my home theater. After that I'll be working on my sound system. Again --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  12. I certainly had something other than a terrier in mind! Blues, Dave LMAO Yeah I thought about that. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  13. Coke or straight from the bottle. I've heard it's good with Cherry Vanilla Dr. Pepper. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  14. I still think a hippo is a better marble eater than sharks. If you get a chance check out Discovery HD Theater. Love it. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  15. There was a program on Discovery where they made mechanical equivalents of a tiger shark's jaw and a hippo's jaw and tested biting force etc... IIRC the hippo was capable of doing more damage because of how wide it can open it's mouth but since the shark can maneuver through water so much better it was the winner. Pretty neat show. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  16. I know Dave, it's all good. Silky Terriers aren't my breed of choice and all my friends were asking who's going to carry it around in the dog purse. All in good fun when you own such a little dog but she's a tough little mutt that can hang with our friend's Lab. After she stopped pissing on the carpet I grew to love her. She's trained to go in a litter box w/ absorbent pads, like a cat that plays fetch. For hours! I swear she was born with a tennis balls in her mouth! Well, a small tennis ball. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  17. Thats what my parents GSD thought, or, more like tasty rat. My mom had a hard time giving her up but knew we'd take good care of her. If we weren't in a town house with no yard I'd choose a different breed but she has stolen our hearts. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  18. Our Silky Terrier, Sydney, was in desperate need of a hair cut so we had the groomer shave her. The before and after gave us a good laugh. Yeah, I have nothing better to do. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  19. Elgin, IL was known for it's watch/clock factory. An Elgin watch is even featured in the film Far and Away with Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman. The scene before the race for land features someone holding an Elgin pocket watch. Where I live now, Carpentersville, is mentioned in the Smoking Pope's song "You Spoke To Me". I drove all the way from Carpentersville to see you here tonight and it was worth it. You didn't play my favorite song but that's alright I love the new stuff too I'm just glad I got to see you. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  20. Ginny and I received a couple of WTF gifts this year, both from her parents. A "Family Guy" set of dominos. I don't think I've played dominos since 4th grade, it's not a children's game just not something I'm into. Also, "Snow Dogs" on DVD starring the charming Cuba Gooding Jr. The highlight gifts for me were the Blu-Ray movies. Mission Impossible: III Full Metal Jacket (Just watched that yesterday) The Unforgiven --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  21. Here's ours. Merry Christmas!! --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  22. Just wondering if any skydivers are playing Resistance: Fall of Man online? --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  23. All I received was a small handful of after school detentions for skipping class. That wasn't until senior year. Near the end of senior year I skipped last hour German 2 for almost two weeks and got two Saturday detentions for that. I was a senior in a sophmore german class and it was last hour, I had better things to do! It wasn't that I failed to end up in a sophmore class, I switched from spanish to german my junior year. Skipping was pretty easy to get away with though. I had late arrival and would be called to the deans office during my first class frequently but my dean was super cool so I talked my way out of more detentions. Anyway, they'd send a page w/ a dean slip which you'd give to a friend later in the day. Said friend would leave his lunch hour while I was in class and hand my teacher my old dean slip. Free pass to leave for an hour. During lunch I'd simply walk out after attendence. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
  24. I play a little but usually get bored with them pretty quick. What everyone is forgetting, or doesn't know/care about, is the ps3 is a bluray DVD player. I'm into home theater stuff so it makes sense that I'm happy to have it. The system came w/ Talladega Nights on Bluray and it looks fantastic in 720p resolution. Blows a regular DVD away. Stand alone bluray players are going for $1000 right now. Plus the ps3 has wifi and an internet browser. You have 60GB of disk space to store pictures, music and movies and even comes with compact flash, sandisk and memory stick slots for easy importing. In other words, it's much more then a video game system. --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
