  1. I'll have to get the developers to use Easter eggs for that one. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
  2. Well...there is going to be trucking related games so I'm sure we could accomodate that one. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
  3. Ok...so it's not skydiving related, but....the company that I'm working at is looking at putting up a "driver's website." If this was a website that you would be accessing, what kind of information would you like to see that would help you do your job? Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! 5. Well, if I would have still had my SUV, I would have done the CaRW stack. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. And never regret anything that made you smile.
  6. Enjoy! And, laugh people....yesh!!! Too much hostility/anger/etc. in the forums lately. Hugs to all!
  7. I'm one of the lucky ones...as far as I'm concerned I have 2 home DZ's - the one that I started skydiving at (SkyKnights) and the one I'm jumping at now (ZHills). Life is short! Break the rules! 8. **Not an instructor and still a baby in the sport** It totally depends on the student and what the instructor sees. As a student, I jumped a 230, 210, 190, and then a 170 (and have been on a 170 since). Has the novice taken any canopy control classes? How are their landings? How aware are they under canopy? Are they doing hop 'n' pops to get canopy time and learn what their canopy will do? I think there are too many factors that come in to play to make a blanket statement that all novices should be....etc.... I think that it is something the instructor should help guide the novice/student in their gear selection. And, if the individual is buying their gear directly from a gear store, than the person on the other end can help guide their gear selection. ************* I bought my first canopy and was jumping it on jump # 34. It's the same one I'm still jumping - a Silhouette 170 with a wingloading of 0.8. When I was buying my canopy, I had people telling me that I should look at a 135 or a 150 due to my size. I decided on the 170 due to the knowledge that a bad landing may not be something you can walk away from. I have 211 jumps on this canopy now, have taken a canopy control class with Scott Miller, listened in on a canopy control class with Brian Germain as well as John LeBlanc, and have just started looking at downsizing. I'm in no hurry to downsize, and due to my larger canopy, have walked away from some landings with a few bruises - instead of a trip to the hospital. I'm even wanting to take another canopy control class when I do downsize. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. 9. Had my chest strap misrouted, and it came undone in freefall. I was using student gear at the time which was a bit large on me, and my instructor came up to me in freefall and showed me my chest strap. So...a few words popped out of my mouth, my left hand grabbed my right shoulder strap, and I pulled. Once under canopy, a few more choice words were said. On the ground, my instructor and I went over proper routing of the chest strap, and I have not done that again. I'm now pretty anal about checking my chest strap about a bazillion times. 10. **Next section is not directed at anyone in specific** Reality check everyone....There are many factors involved in a person's choice to start/quit/restart/retire/etc. skydiving. And, it is each individual's choice. Whether or not you feel that it is something you would do is irrelevant. What is relevant is that a person got involved in a sport that most people do not, made friends, had fun in the sport, saw friends die/get injured, weighed the pros and cons of the sport, and decided that right now (and maybe permanently) that this sport is not right for them. Again...it is their life. They must look in the mirror every day at themselves and be happy with their choices - you don't. So...whether you agree/disagree with the decision that he made for his life, why not wish him well? Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! Kiss slowly! Love truly, Laugh uncontrollably. 11. My best wishes to you. I do not know you, but I echo what a lot of people have said (and I'm still a baby in the sport). Don't sell your gear just yet...give yourself time away from the sport before you make that decision. If the gear being near you bothers you, ask a friend to hold it for you for a bit. Don't stop being on the boards or hanging with your friends that are skydivers. We can still learn from your experience and will welcome you at all times - whether you jump or not. The sky will always be there and so will your true friends. Good luck....best wishes...and blue skies.
