I gotta say Pat & Rex Menke! They're our DZO's near Spokane... Pat & Rex did things that enabled me to continue as a student when I was broke and gonna stop, then again going through a divorce, & when I got in trouble with alcohol. They are just plain great people! I've also gotta say Mike McGowan. Met him briefly in Eloy during a sandstorm. Very Cool Bro! Lotsa people give a shit, family, real freinds, your SO... congrats. Many don't understand it's a fatal disease, with a shitstorm left in the wake... 3.5 yrs here now,, and all my skydiving brothers and sisters at the local dz know my situation and all are supportive as hell. I quit 2 days before a huge retirement party and pig roast at the DZ,, it was either let folks know or quit jumping, drinking was not an option w/o losing, well basically everything... Looking at the time clock as the vid runs,, about 16 secs before the first guy dumps,,, another 2 secs for the 2nd... If my math is close,, and just for a belly flyer fall rate,, #1 dude opens ~1500 ft,,, # 2 maybe 300-400 ft lower right?? Maybe a lil lower with a FF rate... I pscho pack my triathalon,, Ida been hittin the ground at line stretch if I was lucky... Geezus! Hey Chris, You've done the hardest thing already for many,, asking for help and advice, sharing what your feeling and being honest about it. You rock bro! Have you read "Touching the Void" or seen the DVD?? No need to hear my story, but as long as you have the will to get through it, you will, nothing will stop you. Set realistic goals each day. Michelle has always stated things so eloquently! Be active in your therapy, writing a book is a cool idea, maybe a weblog and keep us up to date on what you did that day and how things are going. It is ok to be down from time to time, but depression will ruin everything, if ya need an antidepressant be open to that if your not already on one. You better keep posting here!!
