I guess a lot of original Sabres have had pocket sliders put on because of their damn hard openings. This is just what I have heard though.

What are flat fliers doing at 1K????

I've been going to the gym 5 days a week. I'm doing Fitness Training for my Senior Project so this is my training schedule. I got a personal trainer and everything. One more week of "Warm Up" training and then I start the hard stuff...I THOUGHT THIS WAS HARD ENOUGH!!! Wow...yeah by the time summer comes around I'm gonna be irresistable I've lost about 15lbl in almost 3 weeks. I don't drink soda anymore and I won't eat anything unhealthy (like candy or hot dogs or anything like that). The cool thing is I'm not struggling with the diet thing at all, something clicked and now I WANT to eat healthy...this KICKS ASS. Anyway I thought I would share, blue skies all. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Crap...that was smart. I set is as my default pointer...this is weird. Cool icon though

...to people that have been helpful in your skydiving career. William Lie, otherwise known as BoobieCootie has been an AWESOME person. We got in touch here on the forums (Thanks HH for this awesome site). "I'll be more than happy to work with you all the way to getting your 'A'. We can most certainly work the dive and dock req. " is what he said to me when I said that I have a few more req's to get my "A". He has helped me so much in the last several months. He has been more than willing to lend a hand to the newbie (me). He was the first person to do a two way with me and it helped so much. He's just overall been an awesome guy, you ROCK Will. I'd also like to say that the entire staff at Kapowsin Air Sports is AWESOME. The Farrington's are great people. They have been very helpful in critiquing my dives, helping me learn about gear, packing, flying etc. They are very personal, thoughtful (how many DZ's have cooked up breakfast for their overnight guests?) and have helped build me a solid foundation for my skydiving career and life in general. SKYDIVERS ROCK Now everyone else thank those that have helped you along the way! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

that my friend...is an awsome picture...I wouldn't mind making out with THAT Homer...

You will NEVER be normal again. You'll always have the distinction between you and average Joe/Jane; you jump out of airplanes. Eventually, if not already, you will begin to wonder why people think it's crazy. Now to me, it doen't seem abnormal at all to throw myself out of a plane and commence with the newbie acrobatics. Skydivers and skydiving is where it's at. You're stuck with US...ENJOY IT!!!

Lets all just pray that they never try to do a tandem..

My feeling is, by now, the damage if any has been done. I doubt KIRO will ever air a counter story because that's not the image they want to portray. I just hope that people are smart enough to understand yellow journalism and that what you see on TV is rarely the truth. And I will NEVER watch KIRO, they are not a news station, they are a TV Tabloid

DUDE! I don't know what the game is, but you gotta tell me where to find it, looks cool!

I really like the idea of viewing just the subject line, HOWEVER it would be nice if posters would get to the point in the subject line. For example "JAVELIN RIG FOR SALE", it would be nice if it said something like "Javelin J4, Sabre 190, PD 160". Some of the titles are a little vague, so it would be nice to remind people to be specific with the title for ease of searching. It would get frustrating searching through hundreds of vague titles only to find that none of them are what your looking for...wasted time. If people can't be more precise, you might as well just show the title and details on the same page. Of course this is just my opinion cause "This ain't no DAMN democracy" ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Yeah, you broke your ass. It happens and it sucks. I broke mine when I was 12 and I never knew about it. A couple years ago I had an X-ray of my stomach because I was having serious stomach cramps (had nothing to do with my ass though) and it showed my cocix. If you were to be face to face with me, it curves down and way over to my right. It doesn't bother me anymore, but if I clench my "cheeks" really tight, I can feel the pressure on my tailbone. You learn to live with it, cause they can't really put a cast on your ass.

What would be really freaky is if you did install some sort of parachute recovery system, and flew up someone that didn't know anything about it. Then you unexpectedly jump ship...I know it would scare the hell out of me!

I seriously hope that this guy doesn't have too much of an effect on Kapowsin. They are an AWESOME DZ, everybody there are great people and safety is their #1 concern. I hope something happens to this bastard. He should get his ass thrown in jail for this shit. There is no excuse for swooping a known dropzone during operation. What a jackass. That is all.

Nothing wrong with 23 megs, It takes me a whole 4 minutes...
-
I don't know what to say...that seems really strange...did you rip ass in a sit? That may have done it...
-
Is this from experience? Sounds like fun

If you wrap the electronics up in latex or a quality plastic or something, it shouldn't be a problem. It'd be fairly easy to do.
-
DUDE! I'm a 250 student and I'd love to jump that thing!
-
It probably wouldn't be a terribly bad idea for the medically trained jumpers to carry just a small first aid kit. It obviously wouldn't do much for someone with serious trauma but for minor injuries it would be nice to be able to disinfect, and wrap them quickly.

OMG I would kick his ass! Even when I was a wuffo, I was extremely careful when walking through the packing area. And I had respect for EVERYONE and EVERYTHING. This guy needs a serious ass whuppin
-
I think just like main canopies, reserve's have they're slight differences, they may require slightly different packing methods to maximize their potential to get you to the ground safe. For example, if you pack an original sabre the same way you would pack a manta...you might be in for some hurt...it would most likely work fine, but survival of both the equipment and the operator are maxized if the packing method fits the canopy characteristics. Edited to add: Make sure you take into account that I am just a noob after you read this post

As it stands now, if in the process of doing your project your feet would leave the ground, it is outlawed I'm not going to walk up to these people and tell them skydiving is as safe as playing fetch with a poodle, but these ARE whuffo's and they do think 1 out of 10 people will die skydiving (please excuse the exageration and the horrible simile, but you get the point). I am just hoping that by educating them, they will have a better understanding of the safety precautions and open they're eyes for both my benefit and the benifit of future classes.

At my school, you're required to do a "Senior Project" to graduate. They like you to do things that are original, new etc. But they won't let me learn RW for my project. They're afraid that I'll sue them if I get hurt or something. And they tell me that even if I sign a waiver of liability, I could still sue them and win if i got hurt. This makes absolutely no sense to me. They won't even allow you to do a project that would recquire you to ride a horse, or a bike! This is total BS. I want to skydive for my project and these people won't let me because they are afraid. They know nothing about the sport, or the safety precautions. They don't know anything about the gear or the BSR's. Skydiving scares them so they say NO! I'm not the first person to get pissed about this, and I don't know how far other students got with the "Senior Project Commitee". I talked to my counselor about this, and she suggested I write a letter to the committe explaining my position on the subject and that I would be prepared to give a presentation Pro-Skydiving. I think if I can teach these people a little about the gear (AAD's!), the safety procedures, basically an outline of the sport, I might be able to convince these whuffo's that it's not as dangerous as it seems. I'll have to include statistics and compare death/injuries between skydiving and a lot of other activities. Anyway, anyone have any ideas for me?
