  1. Who else out there has seen this video? I love the song and damn...I feel like such a pedophile but I'd take Stacy...lol, her mom's pretty hot too. The kid in the video is such and idiot though, Stacy's looks like she's friggin begging for him. One of my fav. music videos
  2. My perfect body is the one I will have a year from now, with self discipline and hard work...in that order
  3. I just started jumping a year ago. And while I think it's smart to jump with a CYPRES, I'm not going to sit out a day of jumping just because a rig w/ CYPRES isn't available. When I get my own rig, I'll get a CYPRES when I can afford one. People always say "$1200 is worth your life, there's no reason not to have one! If you can afford to skydive, you can afford a CYPRES!" Well, I can't afford a cypres. Right now I make $300-$400 a month. Subtract gym fees, cell phone charges, car insurance ($114 per month), and that doesn't leave a whole lot... I would say, if you can afford one, get it. There's really no reason not to have one if you can afford it. If you're planning on doing a jump where the unit may cause more problems, then leave it off. You don't HAVE to have it on, on every jump. If I could afford one, I would buy it in a heartbeat. Until then, I'll jump what's available.
  4. I think we've all been in that situation before. Earlier this year, I was so fed up with school and life in general, it brought me to tears. I had decided to drive. Just drive and not stop. I wasn't really thinking about a destination, I just wanted to be away from here. It was a terrible feeling, I felt completely worthless. Just hang in there, we're all here for you. PM me and we can talk. Blue ones
  5. New rig all the way! Boobs are nice, but they might make future rigs a little uncomfortable. And wether you have big ones or not, your a skychick and they're all hot in my book
  6. Is that really illegal?? That sux Prescriptions are so damned expensive in the US, and the elderly don't exactly have a whole lot of disposable income...
  7. Interesting, I've never seen a 4-cell...and look where the lines are coming from! What kind of rig is that!
  8. I believe it will work when I need it to, why on earth would someone spend $1200 for something they don't think will work? But I'm not gonna go find out.
  9. Weight Loss Beginning Weight: 272 lbs Week 1: 265 Week 2: 259.5 Week 3: 251 One week since my original posting, and 8.5 lbs are gone. I've had nothing to drink but water for 2 weeks. I'm addicted to the stuff. I've had a bunch of sub sandwiches from a local shop called Phill's 1500 Subs...best subs ever! And I've been having cherios for breakfast. I had one splurge day where I had a couple hershey bars...mmm good. I haven't had one of those in several months. Then last night I rewarded myself with dinner at Chang's Mongolian Grill. I think I'll update this thread weekly
  10. I learned via static-line. I'm a large guy, 250lbs and my openings were beautifully soft. I can garuntee you that if you ask your normal doctor if it's ok, he'll give you a resounding "no!". Even if you can physically handle it, your still in a higher risk class and he's not going to want a lawsuit. In the end the decision is yours. The opening may be sweet as pie, but if you biffed it on landing (and some students can really biff it hard) you could easily break something. In the end, the decision is yours to make. And while I wish that EVERYONE could enjoy this sport at least for a day, I realise that just isn't possible...I guess this probably didn't help you at all sorry
  11. A firewall won't generally stop spyware because most of the time your computer readily accepts it through flash documents and other online media, it sort of snakes it's way onto your computer but rarely actually breaks any "rules" and most virus scans won't have definitions for spyware as it's not technically a virus. You're right the news site popups are just plain annoying popups directly from the news site, but as I said earlier, 90% of pop-ups that people get are generated from their own computers...bah...
  12. I have no pop-up blocker and I don't seem to need one Seriously though, I rarely get pop-ups. If you install either Ad-aware or Spybot - Search and Destroy, preferably both, you can get rid of all the spyware (i.e. pop-ups) and crap on your computer that I'm guessing is causing 90% of those popups
  13. I learned on BOC mounted rip-cord rigs with a SOS. I visited another smaller DZ and the only rig they'd let me jump was a chest-mounted ripcord rig with SOS. I didn't have any trouble going from BOC to chest mounted handle. I just did about 30-40 practice pulls on the ground and a few in the plane. No biggie. I don't think it will be a very big deal to convert him to BOC. Just make sure he practices procedures repeatedly
  14. Be very careful when you tell people to let up the brakes prior to landing. droplikearock, talk to your instructors about going into half brakes on final. It is a good skill to have, but it's important that you understand what you're doing. If you decide to let up on the brakes, make sure you do it slowly so the canopy doesn't surge forward, and make sure you have enough altitude to do so, you will lose altitude quickly until the canopy returns to full flight.
  15. I wouldn't really say that alcohol caused the persons death. The consumption of said alcohol lead the person to drive into the wall. It's all semantics yes, but in this case it wasn't the alcohol that killed him, it was the order of events.
  16. Not that I have many, but half my jumps were from a 182, the other half - Otter and caravan
  17. That would be nice, but in the meantime, there are a few places online where you can get fairly decent overheads of just about anywhere...I'll see if I can manage to find one for ya
  18. Casch

    I have DSL!

Awww, I thought you were talking about the OTHER meaning for DSL...damn
  19. Hey we love ya man! You gonna be at the Eloy boogie???
  20. Oooh Oooh I just found a greyhound ticket round trip for $158, that's a good deal aint it?
  21. ***All we do is take a short walk to the plane, ride to altitude and then coast all of the way down. No physical effort at all. That's my kinda sport ! " But then there's packing...that's what wipes me out. That and carrying the damn Skymaster 290 back the the hanger every jump...damn those are big.
  22. You want to have as little friction as possible in your cutaway system. Idealy the only force you should have to overcome is the velcro holding the handle in. The reason riser inserts are so important is if you happen to get line twists that go all the way down the risers, the extra length of cutaway cables that run up the risers get "squeezed" in the linetwists, creating a crapload of friction. With the metal housings, the housings get twisted up with the risers, but the cutaway cables inside of them are perfectly fine.
