Any more info on this event --- are the dates set?? The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

I would say that 99% of the time the cypres activation speeds would be reached but it would be possible to be in a spin with arms and legs fully extended and have enough 'float' to stay below the activation speed. I believe that if you were actively trying to stop the spin the cypres would fire. I you had blacked out I think the speeds would be reached also. One should be able to analzye a speed graph from either a protrack/neptune/skytronic while in a flat spin and answer this for sure. The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Ummmm.... maybe you should reword this to say something like ---- the jumper was able to regain stabilty and pull in the proper orientation --- had this not been possible the jumper should have pulled while in the spin at a resonable altitude to deal with the line twist/possible malfunction. Don't spend the rest of your life trying to get stable should be the message --- you can survive pulling unstable. The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

This is a real DZ starting up. The owners are kin to a previous DZO in central Texas The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Doug -- that tool..... we hate that guy!!!!!!!! (I am assuming that is the Doug D. from Texas that is trying to sell his s3 right now who never comes out to play with us) We would like him and not call him a tool if he would come out and play with us like the good old days. I would even give him a place to stay and a ride to the DZ The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Awesome --- you got wingsuits and the Smithers hop and flip and then pop footage The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Hey Bob I think that Chuck and Katie Blue are supposed to be at ZHills for Christmas.......be careful after the jumping is over Chuck is getting old and can't keep up the drinking with us Texas folks (even you old ones). If you want to jump with him for more than one day stop the drinking early and slip a few Geritals in his fiber drink But seriously I would find out where the Blue's are going and head there -- And while your there get any info about hotels and stuff we my need for the Flock and Dock. I can see it now POPS wingsuit weekends Have fun Voodew The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

I asked this question as to why not wear a chest mount alti (I can see lots of reasons why it would be easier to read a chest mount) I personally don't look at my alti until under canopy In the FAQ at the top of this page and from what I have been told and what I teach is it is not recommended to use a chest mount-------I want to know how far off will the readings be --- I don't see how it could be that much (unless you were backflying) The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Russia - World Wing Suit Boogie and Competition
voodew1 replied to ikenever's topic in Wing Suit Flying
It sounds like a lot of fun and even an adventure but this year is the Flock & Dock maybe next year I can talk the wife into a 'really exciting' adventure. Maybe we will meet again at Skyfest?????? It can only get bigger The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid -
I don't use one nor do anyone I know but I would like to know why it is not recommended to use one. I am sure there is low pressure over the back and a slightly higher pressure under the chest..........but I can't see that it is enough to really make a difference. And if anything the reading would be slightly higher not lower which I would be ok with Has any one actually tried to compare wrist to chest and see what kind of difference there is. The reason for the question is I was approached by a jumper who only uses a chest mount alti and it made me think do I really want to tell him he can't use the altimeter he has been using for the last 4,000 jumps?? Somebody needs to get a pic of a Vampire in a windtunnel that should win for sure ---- too bad we don't have any here --- professor has been dying to try it There has got to be more cool pics out there ---- lets see them James are you going to post the entries???????? As an AFFI-- I have done about 100 jumps from the 206U (ours had a floater bar on the top and a step outside) and 100 jumps from a 182 (comparing it to the P model) Both planes were fine -- a 206U without the step running along the cargo door would have been much more difficult I would imagine. If i had to chose I would say the P model as the student can get all the way outside and present better I am now a turbine whore and have put the days of the small planes behind me The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

It already is my desktop --- the first thing I did when I got home on Saturday The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Heres one taken by Dave Smithers this weekend ------ James seeing as how you should be getting all the contest photos are you going to post them so we can all see??????????? The sky in the background just makes this pic surreal and if you zoom in on my face you'll see the gorrilla thing The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

nicely done The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Just a question --- if a pic gets posted on here does it disqualify the photo from the competition????? The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Finally got my copy of Skydiving and I must say I do look amazingly stunning in that photo. We got a few nice shots this weekend to send in and the funny part -- Ted is in them and not behind the lens this time --- The problem is I had a really stupid look on my face 'very gorilla like' The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid

Eagle Flight is sporting a super otter for the winter so their lift capacity is fine The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
-
I haven't got my issue yet but I am sure that is the pic that Ted 'professor' took. It is disqualified from this competition but thats ok as it is hanging on the wall of fame in a certains someones home overseas ------ Ted was very honored to be asked for the copy of the pic as were Bob and I What makes that shot even more impressive is in the day of digital stills and being able to shoot 200 photos a jump, then crop and center them --- Theo still uses a film camera (he still uses a film camera because he is a tight ass bitch and won't buy a digital still) The pimp hand is powdered up ... say something stupid
