    Incidentally, I seem to remember that the current shuttle was the "cheap" option. There was another design, more fuel efficient, 100% re-usable, bigger proportional payload, in effect the "2001" space shuttle. But.... A LOT more expensive. I understand that the decision was to "build the cheap one meantime and we'll see..." I doubt that we'll see another push in space technology. The west has already proved all it needs to, does all it feels it has to do, and only uses the "boy-scout / space cadet" public opinion when it wants to. What I do see is a "levelling" of technological achievement. Anyone want to bet against an Indian manned orbit in the next 5 years, closely followed by a Pakistani manned orbit? Mike. In the wake of the breakup of my first marriage (hey, I'm only on my second!!!) I covered the whole 5 points of the newly seperated, including (at 35 years old) dating the obligatory 17/18 year old for about 2 months . It all came to an end when the news showed an earthquake on Sakhalin with the comment about the blocks of workers flats collapsing BUT the statue of Lenin still standing.     Here's the origin of the hot fork phrase... Ahhh... What nostalgia. Actually, Milo made a very valid point in that thread - "status" being awarded by moderators and the great leader rather than blindly on post numbers. In a way I'm slightly proud of the fact that it's taken me some 3+ years to get 700 or so posts while some gat that in 6 months or less. I hope it's because I go for quality, not quantity. Mike.     I just thought I'd get in about this being posted previously BEFORE CrazyIvan wakes up I'm pretty sure that the guy want's $200,000+ for it and I'm sure that any skydiver with a spare $200K would snap it up in an instant. However, as we all know, apart from those all too brief moments between getting the pay check and arriving at manifest to buy jump tickets or 'phoning the gear shop the idea of finding a skydiver with spare cash is right up there with spotty paint and vegan cannibals.
