    My experience is that $5.00 is pretty much the minimum charge for a pack. Since the question was about how much it would have to increase, $6. seemed to be the appropriate price to start at. Yeah, I understand your semantics, but there might be a huge increase in demand at $4 for that matter. I likely incorrectly assumed you packed and was doing market research as a prelude to upping your price. As such, knowing the potential unexploited market is good information to have also. ...     A friend just got a brand new Samurai this weekend (CRISPY!!). Here's what we did for him: You know how after you get the canopy laid down and wrap up in the center cell? Next you bring up the line set (slider) in an s-fold, then you bring down the top half in an s-fold over the first bit? Change it with these thoughts: 1 - That initial long wrapped part you start with can't be skinny enough! Use you shins, feet and elbows and anything else. Bring the seams of the center cells all the way wrapped and use those seams to control the fabric the rest of the time. 2 - Do the top s-fold first (sorry, no pics) and then put that part in the bag. The bag helps enormously. 3 - Then bring up the bottom part (where the lines and slider are) and tuck it inside. You get the same organization, but you get half in the bag right off. ...     I like this one - 5 way - Pick 5 four way randoms - one person is out of the formation for 'his' random. It can really flow nicely and there's an extra bit of fun because each transition also includes one person getting out while the lurker gets in. Also, do you know the zipper dance?     Can't answer this poll, I pack my own and only use a packer when in a pinch. I prefer to know what's in my rig and packing is actually pleasant for me most of the time. The parachute system is a real work of art. But a good packer can pack anywhere from 4 to 12 packjobs an hour. $20 to $60 an hour is a pretty good wage for a job without union dues, formal education, vo tech training or anything of that sort. But it can be grueling work, so it's earned. However, for those who want the luxury of having their rigs packed, $5 seems fair and tipping is a good practice if you use the same someone all day. However, market forces at work, I'd let supply and demand set the price, since using a packer is so far a voluntary activity. It's interesting that lower prices weren't on the list..... ... BB - as for jumping with an Airspeed member - you stink in so many ways I just can't stand it (no, I'm not jealous, no really. I'm not. am not. ok, just a little, ok a lot.     When this post came up a while ago, some people were wondering about the various ways to do zircon-zircon. FYI - On the NSL home page this week (today is March 31) there are video examples of: 1 - cogging the pieces (Perris Prec) 2 - double vert with the centers moving first (Blade) 3 - double vert with the point/tail moving first (Airspeed) It's a good way to study your options on this very fun block. My team isn't too fast (YET) and I'd like a cleaner finish so we don't have to settle down after the finish. So although we've preferred style 3, we might experiment with 2 just for the fun of it...... Although I think just practicing with controlled vertical drills will be more beneficial though.     Long swoops are a gas. I remember two years ago at couch freaks we had a 36 way from an Otter and a Sky Van. Manifest had mistakenly put too big a group on the Otter so I had to switch last minute to the SkyVan. This put my slot on the far side of the formation instead of just exiting last from the Otter straight to my slot. The Van offered to let me out first, but I didn't want to mess with their exit order so I left last. Giant carving long swoop to my slot, it was gorgeous. I made it to my slot right on the tail of my designated dock, he didn't even realize I wasn't behind him the entire way. Then of course some newbie fell on top of him leaving me alone lurking my area. Without the swoop, it would have been a pretty crappy dive. Instead, it's one my best memories. ...     Bad landing in Lodi last year. Could have been a serious day. Oh, and about 15 years ago I cut away from a CrW wrap (plenty high) and thought it would be cool to fall away from it and watch it while on my back - watch it - flip over - check altitude - reach for PC - grab and throw - realize I'm at terminal now. Terminal reserve openings are hard especially when it wasn't required . Also didn't find the main for a day (landed in the only tree in a 1 mile radius). ...     They are getting tired and repetitive, they repeat, they are redundant, they say the same thing over and over. and over however, this is a talk back. And they are fun. I suspect the SM is tired of moderating these - can't blame him. Perhaps a separate Talk Back 2 and this one moderated by those guys who seem to get into it more (like BV and Q?) - or get a new moderator for that area who's still interested in that kind of stuff. ...     We are through waiting on our fence-sitters to commit to our trip and have 4 or so hours of (100% COACHED) time reserved still available for the end of this April 22-25 (Thursday - Sunday). I want to stay away from pressing this here, but please e-mail (rehmwa@aol.com) or PM me and I will give the details on a one on one basis (costs, coaches, commits, etc). I will say 1 - the coaching is world class and available for team or individual, beginner or advance level people. My team is buying 2+ hours per person and doing a lot of sharing. (I am doing a ton of stretching and core strength exercises). 2 - The schedule is very open as most of my local group of about 12 people are there the entire time so we could work around another's schedule(s). 3 - The price is very very nice and for an individual I will show you how it compares to one of the formal 'camps' Edit: Sorry, Orlando skyventure
