Senate to vote on health care bill unconstitutionality!
rehmwa replied to bodypilot90's topic in Speakers Corner
Perhaps you could float upside down on a shell and drink rum-based cocktails ((((ok, to be obtuse - gov's job is expanded to social welfare that equals laws to put groups into little randomly defined stereotype groups and then either take money from that group or to preferentially give money to that group - depending on what's in fashion or who has more pull. Since we still have to pay the bills, any arbitrary credit to one group has to be made up somehow - and that means taking more from someone else to cover the short - the only net way to reduce a total budget is to spend less. Or, and this is the ironic part - to stop transferring money from one group to the other and allow the overall economy to improve to increase net intake. Just like a business)))) ... Such conduct should be discouraged, unless monitored to ensure that the treatments comply with the Best Practices standards. At a minimum, all parents must pass at least 200 hours of courses on sterile technique, basic first aid, and team-building exercises (it really does take a village). ACORN is getting those contracts. Such self-help also leads to things like home schooling, which is intolerable. nonsense - if a person has that training, then they need to treat others that are more deserving of treatment prior to their own children. In less than 4 months, the local (gov approved) treatment panels can provide a prioritized list of local underpriveleged children that need their boo boos attended to prior to some snot nosed surburban brat who gets all sorts of benefits by just being the child of a gov trained bandaid application provider. ... I'm intrigued - so you are suggesting that we all: 1 -start eating a lot of food crammed with butter 2 - get self superior and irritable and judgmental on everything 3 - stop shaving anything or brush our teeth 4 - and start smoking so much we smell like ashtrays from over a mile away all for our health I'd like to subscribe to your newsletter ... Sears has a certain profit they have to achieve to be a good business and continue to hire their people and pay their dividends, etc. If they sell items at a discount to some people, what do you think they have to do to all the rest of their merchandise to cover that discount (if they intend to keep to their budget)? ... I don't have enough details to assess right vs wrong. So there is only legal vs not legal..... One thing I do know is that those countries VERY tough on drugs don't seem to have the same issues as the ones light on drugs do. Singapore is a good example. ... Mike - what's wrong with you? You finally got these guys to admit that when one group gets a non-universal benefit, that it's equivalent to taxing the rest of us to cover the unequal treatment. They never admit that directly, now they are auguing the point. Take the win. ... I know this isn't what you mean, but it's a certainty that some Congressman will put up a proposal to 'outlaw all pre-existing conditions'. Probably in 2014. Just wait, you'll see. ... I caught all that, my point is that all the posts on profiling tend to focus on a cosmetic profiling rather than on behavior - it sidetracks the intent of the technique - yours added to gawain's comment rather that corrected. Because the 'effectiveness' your speak to only related to the simpleminded version of profiling that the PC fanatics choose to acknowledge. if we profile based on behavior, the the "them" you talk about just happens to be "those that ACT like terrorists" - rather than "those that LOOK like terrorists" and that does make me 'feel good' - because it's more effective than the straw horse profiling that opponents have defined as the terrorists evolve, sure they'll also learn to 'act' normal as well as look generic. but there's a much smaller pool of those sophisticated enough to pull that off, and observational techniques will evolve right along with it. still beats searching/questioning every 5th person - especially if that 4th person is let by DESPITE him sweating, looking nervous, and being overly protective of that particular bag going through scan. I mean, it's either a terrorist, or a fat skydiver (bald with go-tee to complete THAT stereotype) carrying on his rig. Frankly, you should be searching either one.... ... seems that today, with people forewarned and now able to think ahead to what scenarios they might encounter and to how they would personally choose to react - that we are past the time now where any nutjob will have a chance of taking over a plane with a simple box cutter or nail clipper threat isn't that a positive result? that 200 people on a plane may very well have decided on 200 different ways to stop a potential threat - you or I may disagree with 100 of those options, but it certainly makes it harder for a nutjob to succeed ... the "them" that BEHAVIORAL profiling targets is any individual, the shows a particular behavior people keep abusing the term 'profiling' as a race baiting term and it just doesn't have to mean that in any way shape or form in real life application and I'd always consider behavioral profiling to be much better than a pure random (as modified to protect the feelings of PC preferred groups) sampling ...
