The Clintons kid gets married ...... why ...
rehmwa replied to shropshire's topic in Speakers Corner
Hope the couple is happy and can avoid having a lot of the crap in their parents lives spill over into their private lives. Being the kid of a high profile politician, let alone two, must really stink. But all the money won't hurt either I suppose. (Until the government takes it all away). Maybe she's not too pretty,,,but she's not ugly either - just plain. No biggie. ... Rotator Cuff (What to Ask/Say to Doctor, Tandem?)
rehmwa replied to today4udrevil's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Find a doctor that's a skydiver or at least understands the kinetics. Some docs are totally overboard about the sport and tie that off with hyper-conservative tendencies (scared of lawsuits), you just can't win. A great book for the cuff - Seven Minute Rotator Cuff Solution. More than just workouts, also discusses the anatomy and whys and hows of the workout. ... and we all know which choice most newbies make.... dear Jakee - I have mad skillz and want to get into hardcore swooping on a sub-100 canopy while using my Go-Pro and freeflying. BTW I already have over 50 jumps. Please tell me what I want to hear..... ... 1 - turn off the caps locks 2 - instead of jumping once every two weeks, put the money aside every two weeks until you have enough to pay for the entire course. Then do 2 or 3 a day as quickly as you can so the training is current and fresh. ... No, you aren't. Stop deluding yourself. agreed - lose the weight and are you also willing to pay for 3 or 4 slots a jump (500 lb exit weight) good luck, though, it's a great experience - you have a tough path to get there, however ... I hear you. I'm more cynical about Coach Ratings and Pro Ratings and more ways for USPA to invent to collect revenue with little value add. That's my version of the similar grump. blues ... I'm an AFF-I and I won't slam you for having an opinion on it. But I'll slam you for being obtuse about it though. And for automatically assuming nefarious reasoning by DZOs. And for the delivery, you pretty much are stating SL is better for the stupid people - I disagree, a great student will excel in either program and a crappy student will do crappy in either program. Hell, there might even be a couple DZOs out there that do AFF because they think it's a superior training program. rather than a superior revenue generator (which is totally dependent on their biz model). What's wrong with making a profit anyway? You say SL is less stressful - A billion years ago, I started static line and went to delays - then finished up on the last 4 AFF jumps. AFF was a lot LESS stressful for me. One personal anecdote - different strokes for different folks - it's not a one size fits all world out there - good instruction takes the individual and does what it takes to get them learning. (I think static line is a great business option for single cessna operations - you can get more turns in and fit more than one student into the plane and it's more 'assembly line' attitude can crunch students out all day - DZs with bigger turnaround capability and more altitude, I like AFF for the hands on approach.) as for the OP - learn local if the operation is safe. Any training method has positives and negatives. Get comfortable at the DZ and take the course you find is a best fit and has instructors you enjoy. All the different training methods are outlined on an approved progression and provisions are in the planning to allow switching training types if necessary or desired. IAD, Tandem, AFF, SL ... I've read this thread - I don't see any issues with Shah's comments to warrant the responses he's getting. Seems to me people are bringing in preconceptions from other threads where he was trying to be funny and a lot of others were just plain too humorless or PC to get it. I read underneath the wry humor in his post that he wanted a woman that would share home duties, have compatible interests and not be too high maintenance. Still not sure what's wrong with wanting someone with common interests, that you can treat as a partner and equal and that you find attractive and interesting and has a compatible libido........ ... No, I think it's more likely to be pure hypocrisy. most of self proclaimed cons here complained about Rep spending also however, you are correct - Libs are consistent they want to spend us into ruin during a Republican administration and they want to spend us into ruin during a Democratic administration congrats ... he's talking about ankle cuffs - and crappy RW rather than decent RW you can freefly in a coverall from Fleet Farm - for that matter you can do RW in a coverall from Fleet Farm is that cheap enough? I like the note above about buying an old student suit to get you to where you decide to step up and get a good RW AND a good FF suit. what's "good"? a billion options on an RW suit is interesting, but not necessary - (tension cords????? you don't want goofy sales gimmicks.... a simple RW suit - big booties, good fit, all the grippers and make them big and chunky - that's all) A super expensive and fancy FF suit? not necessary, most people don't FF good enough to tell the difference. I like a simple suit that's fairly form fitting (fly your body, don't let the suit fly you). Liners are interesting for comfort, but you can also just wear a long sleeve T if you need the layer underneath..... for either, find out if you fall fast or slow in those orientations (jump, don't just assume), and then tell the manufacturer when you send in the order ... You are just asking for a ton of advertising. Do a search on the RW forum and you'll find good advice on features to get and alot of opinions on manufacturers. B-M-F-Q-O seems to have just tiny moves - biggest move is tail has a bit from F to Q, but cheating M-F-Q reduces it a lot edit: I know Q seems odd to add, but I'm a fan of F and Q as they only have 3 grips and they are very quick in and out. take out Q and do B-M-F-H-O has littler moves even ... this is a real problem now - it's out of hand - and some people are just idiots in how they load the overhead too. Edit: A soft side bag is nice as you can get it overhead in some pretty odd openings that you just don't get with a hard side. A skydiving gear bag is a great travel bag. ...
