  1. and those same millions did not jump out of their stortage places and shoot anyone if we would put a psychiatrist in those stortage places, then every time a pre-felon/killer goes to get his gun, he can be assessed. Or we can do it during elections - they show up and vote, and then - while they are there anyway - we can test their mental capacity and put the questionables on a list right away. They just need the psych exam, then they show their ID, then they.....wait a sec - they can be examined, but they cannot be identified, that would be wrong. So, exams for all, lists will only contain descriptions, but not ID. Things like height, weight, hair and eye color, race, state of dress, ....wait a sec ... 2. It appears that his grasp of 'beaner' is on par with your grasp of 'illegal immigrant' I grasp it, I just don't use it or hear every day like enlightened types that are surrounded by hate daily. ... 4. yes, Quade's bigotry is only targeted at evil americans - and only those of certain regions and skin color - that's what makes him so enlightened - everyone else is exempted - remember - you are only qualified to talk about topics if you are angry because you either use cruel terms or have been called bad terms - no one objective can speak. ... 5. Let me suggest that anybody in this thread who didn't know what the term "beaner" meant, really has given up their authority in talking about hispanic illegal immigrants in the US. Seriously. While the term is bigoted, it's also extremely common and is used both in and out of the hispanic community. Lack of that knowledge is a clear demonstration of a person's unfamiliarity and exposure to that community whether positive or negative. sorry, I'm not qualified to talk about any topic unless I'm privy to your definitions about all topics. got it do you post anything, anymore, that's not a personal slam? maybe, just maybe, my upbringing and my widely diverse circle of friends do not use terms like that - maybe you're so sensitized because your environment and your circle of friends isn't so 'enlightened' as you like to pretend. Just because you are choked with whatever guilt you feel based on your attitudes and upbringing and actions doesn't mean you can apply to anyone else. ... 7. ok, when the question is all about debating the legal definition of children vs the legal definition of adult, your argument isn't circular - it's moronic. Or at least it's moot. ... 9. if you respect the other team's members, you will always play to the best of your ability and the score will be whatever it is. It's not the score that would show disrespect - it will be the attitude of the winning team that shows respect or disrespect. I see a thread title that just shows a couple numbers - I'm more interested in how the members of both teams acted among themselves and how they acted towards the other team members. ... 11. well, BDraft certainly miss stated his intent (stated) messing up adding the word 'foreign' to "foreign terrorist" - seems to me, the act of terrorism is much more important than the randomness of nationality but you did catch him in a semantics game, congrats unless you're trying to imply something about his sub-conscious......but that's a painful tactic and not as productive to go on tangents that lead nowhere ... 12. No, your purposeful obtuseness aside, but if you want to write the corollary correctly, you left out one words. "When a person, regardless of age or race is a child and commits crimes then they are treated as a child criminal." this is still your intent, but with less of the emotive bias showing 'child' replaces 'foreigner' 'crime' replaces 'terrorist acts' (and the other variation) ... 13. BV and Kallend love circular arguments - it's dizzying. It's much easier to argue what you want to hear rather than try to understand the other person's context. This is a subset of why much of population can't grasp the need for judgment in terms of individual assessment, rather they opt for simplistic solutions applied in self destructive complexity. That leaves us with trying to enforce standard "Process" in the case of law and justice vs doing it right, doing it arbitrarily, or just tying our hands with a ton of subjective rules. It might not be just....but at least it's equal when run as intended. That's a pretty amazing result to evolve from the human condition and all it's variation - it's not a bad result, considering. ... 14. Sorry, but I read this that laws that are just placebos are ok and true context isn't feasible. Else you are just agreeing with me that level of scrutiny should tie off to level of impact. The shortcoming is that we don't have the societal structure or members with the intelligence and morals to provide judges and law enforcement individuals with sufficient character to actually work the issues dispassionately and with the morals to do it right. So we have a billion rules to try and compensate for the shortcomings of human beings. perhaps it's true, that's sad ... 15. * Wild ride with unresponsive student. * I am hurt * They are hurt (more) I have the same criteria and considerations - though my best (most fun) jump last year was the above - he was unresponsive and totally thrashing from 13 to about 7 when I finally got him on his belly. At one point he went into a tuck and grabbed my foot (about 9500) for a second. I worked my butt off to get his eye contact for him to relax and know he wasn't alone, and then on his belly. He got off 3 psuedo practice touches and a real pull by 5 as a result. It was worth it. It was classic drowning man panic followed by the 'big X' once on his belly. My main side (he let go per plan when the student tucked and screamed on his own Go) had tears in his eyes he was laughing the whole time. Main has decades of AFF and said that guy's performance was less than 1/10th of a percent of performances in his experience - I got him with about 20 AFF jumps under my belt. Don't get me wrong, It's "fun" to have those perfect students that get done early and you have the chance to teach them extra turns, and to communicate more, etc. but for the pure challenge and joy? that ride was a great learning experience for me. ... 18. so what? it's the primary purpose of society based justice. It's not just "attractive" - it's what is right. So hanging onto the unproven subjective rules (like age) is just simpler/lazier - but less just and not effective at protecting society. it's much better than allowing the bias of people's emotions concerning anyone, including children that have adult concepts of judgement and consequences. ... 19. I also am stuck in other 'professional' stereotypes. good breath haircut shaved polite no smoking in front of/around students how incredibly close minded, huh? crazy concept when you are trying to get mainstream business in field where trust is pretty important - it's not about what I, or any other jumper, personally thinks, it's about what the customers will take in so they come and spend their money be clean and professional, enjoy the experience with the customer and make it fun, take your cues from the customer as to what they are enjoying and being annoyed by, be relaxed, be informative. It's ok for them to see we cut it up after the light goes on just as much as it's good to see we are fun but professional while working I'm still surprised at the number of 'skydiving professionals' that act like their business/employment is all about them and not about the customer. ... 23. A bit dizzy reading the words vs the content. Your contention is that "child" and "adult" should not be legally defined in these cases by some arbitrary age criteria, but rather by assessment of the individual's personality, character, and ability to demonstrate reasoning. I'm all for that, but does it conflict, then, with areas not related to committing criminal acts as well? Like Voting, driving, drinking, age allowed to work, etc and if not, does it not automatically create gray areas concerning equivalent treatment under law? in other words - why shouldn't we simply treat all criminal acts the same based on (1) the crime committed and (2) the likelihood of the criminal to repeat the crime - and nothing else? The question of age or maturity not being defined explicitly, but rather that just comes into consideration of the 2nd criteria? That 2nd criteria being a rather broadbased area that also considers (for increase or reduction of severity of punishment) so many of the subjective areas that are painfully defined today - like age, intent, capability, mental status, etc etc etc. ...
