  1. ooooh - semantics conflicts.... ok - I'll counter by saying that you are confusing a "work ethic" with just "work hard" ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
  2. So who will be the first poster to come to the defense of the poor robber (with a baby)? Maybe a poll would be good. ... Driving is a one dimensional activity - a monkey can do it - being proud of your driving abilities is like being proud of being able to put on pants
  3. I'd bet a lot of everyday people would feel the same about Holland. But why is that based on the political structure and not just on the people and culture and individuals that live there? ... 4. Actually, claiming that Holland is nice, is a lot like saying Iowa is nice (in terms of size and organization and population). Pretty much, then an endorsement for State's rights in the US - dont you think? If we kept to the original intent of the 'Union' and took away all that excess Federal authority that should never have left the States - we would be having this discussion about individual states, rather than smallish countries. Which would be as it should be. 50 different philosophies in the great experiment would have given just about everybody a place they'd fit in. ... 5. Confusing "religious conservative" with "conservative" is pretty simplistic. Much like treating every single person that 'claims' to be liberal like an insane veggie, weirdo that straps themselves to trees and bombs clinics and snipers doctors. Or like someone saying Billvon and Dreamdancer (or Wendy and Amazon) are the same. But confusing "fanatically religious conservative" with "conservative" is just trolling. Clearly your recent posting history is just to try to 'out-PC' the others in attempts to ingratiate yourself to less educated "self proclaimed liberal" female skydivers/posters - (let me know how it works - it's appears pretty effective for some at climbing gyms and clubs ) ... 7. well, that 220 number is pretty much a 'best case' for a Pegasus. I'd estimate that the actual average square footage of a Pegasus is about 170 sq ft (depending on how many cells would stay inflated at any one time) ... 8. Around here, they think the louder their stereo is, the cooler they are. And, I suspect one could go quickly to Bonfire and figure out which skydivers are reckless and stupid drivers - they like to brag about it there. And there's no such thing as a rich skydiver,,,,,,so QED ... 11. In all fairness, I don't think he said anything about taking away their right to vote. (Though I can name 3 different posters off the top of my head that have stated exactly that for people with disagreeing philosophies) AND, I wouldn't call freeloaders 'liberal' despite their tendency to favor one party over the other - They have their own special category. Edit: In review -Maybe on two - _______ and ______ are the only two people I've seen post that voting should be deleted for groups of people based on political philosophy. One is clearly an advocate of an aristocracy of the highly degreed meritocraacy, the other is just angry all the time - both are highly partisan. though there are a lot of snotty posts on both sides about IQ-test/current event qualifications that certainly would drive one to think they advocate removal of rights for some pigs over the others. But, none have crossed that line and actually posted it. Rough exception which I don't take seriously is the whole - serve in the military to qualify for citizenship discussion - ala Robert Heinlein. I assume that's just a debate gambit and not really serious - rather just a means to spin up the weirdly anti-military types. ... 19. by the generic definition of the terms, absolutely - however, I'm sure we can agree that our current parties are both very conservative in that they oppose, in general, anything that changes the existing power/spending structure. In this case - Liberal and Conservative (social and/or fiscal) groups also have noting to do with true "liberal" and "conservative" philosophy in it were, we'd call guys like Ron Paul true liberals and guys like Obama and the cast of Rep candidates extreme conservatives ... 20. Wow - you're gonna have to define what you mean by liberalism: If you mean Liberalism - this fundamental religion that has nothing to do with new ideas and just represents the goal of one intrenched party trying to crush another intrenched party - with the members being completely closed minded and angry and dismissive of alternate and new thoughts of others? - then absolutely If you mean liberalism - to accept and try out new ideas, etc - then not at all - we need that (wacky 'liberal' ideas - reduce government spending dramatically, privatizing a lot of social concepts, allowing new energy markets to develop without interference,.....crazy, wacky ideas I state just for example that liberalism is not identified with just the one political strata) If you mean liberalism - for example - giving me an extra helping of chocolate syrup on my vanilla ice cream - then not at all - I like that ... 24. once again - the idiocy of legislators. They prohibit the market instead of prohibiting the exploitation. It's a lot like prohibiting guns instead of prohibiting murder by gun.
