Maybe I try it with pepsi. It does sound good with lime soda although it probably wouldn't have the caffine. Don't like mt dew either. Yah I know I'm a picky eater.
-
Nah, just lots of caffine

Skydiving Instructors lack of benefits/insurance-Koji
tetra316 replied to bigbearfng's topic in The Bonfire
I went with blue cross/blue shield. Getting my personal policy was quite a bit cheaper than going cobra or getting the college policy when I went back to school. The coverage is great, better actually than my previous employer provided coverage. Preventative is 100% covered, doc visits only have a very small copay, perscriptions are almost all covered. $5000 ded is less than a $100 a month and $500 ded runs about $135 month. But then I'm younger with no existing conditions/kids etc. -
No cutaways yet (knocks on wood) aside from intentionals.

Skydiving Instructors lack of benefits/insurance-Koji
tetra316 replied to bigbearfng's topic in The Bonfire
Exactly! Especially if they're working in skydiving. Insurance per month only costs 2-3 working jumps and most all full time skydivers I know of make a lot more than 20-30k a year. Someone who only jumps on the weekends is NOT a full time skydiver. They are just too lazy to get another job during the week or they should go somewhere where they can jump all week imho. -

That's exactly what I did, my insurance costs only $100 a month and I'm a poor skydiving college student. I thought about it for a while and decided it wasn't worth jumping without insurance even if it means I make a few jumps less a month. Chances are nothing will ever happen but if it does I would be screwed without insurance and I'm not willing to take that chance. -
What about Skydive San Francisco, or are they just a tandem cessna dz?
-
Added info on showers. Added for info on bunkhouse Each DZ has it's own good vibe. Depends on which flavor you like.

There's a couple of us planning a spring break trip at the end of March to norcal dzs. We're going to Lodi for sure but none of us has been to any other dzs down there. So what's the vibe like at the other places? I'm pretty sure Holister has bunkhouses/showers but couldn't find info on the other places.

So, what is everyone doing on New Years Eve? The day after?

I'll be camping at Sebastian so what ever is going on there. -
I'm flying home through Denver on the 7th. Was thinking of changing my route but I don't think they would do it this early.
-
I'm flying into Orlando early morning on the 31st and renting a car. Fly back out on the 7th. Anyone want to share car expenses?
-
I've heard about the 3oz rule for carry on liquids but that doesn't apply to checked baggage right? What about bottled water, or just your empty water bottle?
-
Got a much better deal at Payless rental for a week than with the Hertz coupon. About $220 for a little over 7 days over the holidays. Cheapest I could find on the net.

BOOGIE Invasion and PD Challenge at Sebastian

You said earlier that there will be floatation devices to rent but what about CO2 cartridges to buy? I have a belt but I know you're not supposed to pack the cartridges in your luggage. -
I couldn't even by an oxygen mask at a supply store without a perscription. Finally did find one store that would sell it to me though.

Haven't had a chance to jump it yet. I've lengthened the brake lines on just about every canopy I've jumped so that's why I was curious about this but we'll see. I haven't had hma before either so maybe my lenthening the lines was because they were just shrinking
-
I just ordered a new lineset for my katana. The lower brake lines came not only preset but tacked into place as well. So I cannot adjust the brake settings unless I take out the sitching. Is this something new they are doing with all their canopies? The lineset I had installed at the begining of the year did not come like this.

Feeling your pain -I'm having mine done in Janurary.

Which HP model do you have? My old one finally quit too.

Earlier this summer I got a brand new HC32 off ebay for $260(us).
