  1. So I should just let them be? Can't quite at work with new heals though
  2. I always stick it with a pin and let the fluid drain. Seems to heal much quicker than just letting it be. And it hurts less to for me.
  3. I would rather see someone take them to a shelter. Sure the free shelters are probably going to euthanize them if no one adopts them in a couple days but that is MUCH better than letting them starve/freeze to death spreading disease and having kittens while they are dying.
  4. I've been to a couple different canopy seminars from Brian Germain and Wyatt Drews. By FAR the best one I have been to was the PD fasttrax challenge the PD guys put on New Years at Sebastain. It was exclusively geared to swooping (or at least the group I was in was). The groups were 4-6 people working all day with one pd guy. Very hands on coaching and personalized to your style. I would do that again any day but don't think I will ever go to another Germain or Miller type seminar. But then again my focus is on learning to swoop, not canopy flight in general which is what they other. Great info but I wanted more.
  5. That's exactly how I exit the 182 with wings. I wrap my right arm around the strut and face the door. You'll be fine just don't do a full arm extension while facing the prop and hanging on
  6. Although it's not legal in the US I have seen it done. Think very early morning jump though. And yes everyone involved knew the consequences if caught.
  7. Go to your local metalworks shop and have them make you a custom aluminum bracket. Bolt it to your helmet and use a screw and straps to secure the camera. Cheap and effective. (That's what I did for my skydiving camera helmet anyways)
  8. Surgery on your MCL and meniscus and jumping three weeks later...? I hope I got that right! I will be having surgery on my ACL and meniscus on the 12th. Thought it would be more like months before I can jump again.
  9. Just eat what you normally eat and at the same time. Most people I've seen puke didn't do this. Most ate nothing at all thinking it would be better-wrong!
  10. How about those that refuse to become organ donors will not be able receive an organ either. In other words if you will not allow your organs to save another's life after you are dead you should not be able to get an organ transplant but will be left to die. Just a thought. How would those of you who do not want to donate feel about that?
  11. I got a recommendation for a sports medicine doc but when I called his entire clinic had no openings for three weeks. I'm not waiting that long to start pt so I found another sports medicine clinic and had them book me with whomever was available. Hope that works
  12. I don't know. It never should have happened. I tripped and ended up landing on my knee with it bent under me. Stupid and bizarre.
  13. Well I injured myself last weekend and ended up with a torn acl and torn menisci. Those of you who have done that how long before you jumped again. The bad part is I still have 6 weeks before I have to start my real job and was planning on doing a lot of skydiving and videoing
  14. It used to be a wallpaper to download on PD's site. Don't know if it still is.
  15. Same with the Portland, Oregon area, at least downtown.
  16. Walk across hot coals barefoot. One foot was fine, the other not so much
  17. On a side note, I rode around with a friend (200+pds) on the back of my bike out in the country. We ended up following a semi for quite a ways. He rides a R6 and races also and he later told me he was surprised by how stable the bike was. And that no matter your bike you will also feel the gusts generated by trucks and such. That made me a little more confident as I was assuming a larger bike would be a lot more stable than my 250. But apparantly it won't be by much. The power will be nice however!
  18. I'm up in Oregon which means we don't have to deal with you California drivers. Or at least not much. Granted I probably wouldn't ride on the highways in SoCal though. And I don't feel like I get pushed around by truck gusts although I do feel it.
  19. my point exactly...damn scary to see those things on the hwy. but, you own life is you own responsibility. Why? I guess I don't see the need to do 80+ on the highway. Just be aware of and ride within your machine's limits.
  20. I got a rebel 250 for my first bike, but then again I am 5'2". And yes I do take it on the freeway, everyday. It will do 65-75 easily. I am also conservative when on the freeway since I know I can't power out of situations, ie. absolutely no weaving in and out and sometimes sucking it up and riding behind slower vehicles until plenty of passing space is available. So I disagree that it cannot be ridden on the freeway. Also what about those moped like things that you see on the freeway? Surely those can't power out and they are made for the highway.
  21. Buy from a private party if you can. You will save hundreds if not thousands. Just get it checked out by your mechanic first. Still worth the money even if you do have to check out a couple cars first. (I used to work for a dealership.)
  22. If no video I also share tips with the packer and pilot.
  23. I would say you should take the kittens as soon as possible and get then used to people. We had a wild cat give birth under our house. Didn't know they were there till about 2-3 months old. Then caught the mother and kittens and took them to the shelter. Ended up keeping one which only became friendly after I separated him from the other kittens. Even now though it took him a couple months before he was friendly towards my roommate and not just hiding under my bed. So the moral is I would get them now and bottle feed if you have to.
