  1. I don't know if you'll ever get rid of the fear of heights, or should I say you'll still have a great respect for it. It helps you stay sharp and focused. You might try tandem to start out, it will help you enjoy the skydive. It will give you a chance to experience the skydive, with the safety of a expert skydiver. Good luck and have fun. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****
  2. I wonder, could it be the Army mule that some one made a cab for it. Where is the engine located on it? *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****
  3. I always in enjoyed the night jumps. Didn't mind the ruck during the jump, but always hated the ride with the ruck on your legs. I couldn't wait for the door to open, or better yet the tail gate, waddle to the end and fall out. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? 4. Relax and enjoy the ride. Good luck and I hope you enjoy your visit to the U.S. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****
  5. I say hell yeah it counts! How many times did you get to move when you were a kid? My dad was in the Army and I moved 24 times before I turned 21. I've served my country! LOL! I tell my kids the same thing. They served their country. They made more of a sacrifice then myself. They were the ones that had to miss out on their father not being around as well as getting up and moving from fort to fort. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? 7. You may also point out to her, she might want to check out the ROTC programs at some of the colleges. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****
  8. She was misinformed if that is what she was told. With high scores there are numerous job opportunities for female. There are a lot of exciting jobs and other then the direct combat MOS the limit is what she puts on her self. Recruiters will try at time to get you to sign you up for what you don't want, just be persistent, after all when you sign your in till your obligation is over. Remember the recruiter is working for the Army and they are trying to fill the slots needed. As far as the comment about never being more than a secretary, that is BS and he should of never made that statement. Of course there is a definite difference between rank. But everyone has the chance to work hard and reach that rank. If you think about there isn't a job out there that you don't have a boss. I myself am self employed but have my customers, which I must please to stay in business. So in a way they are my boss. Retired SFC US Army *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? 10. I worked with the 1 Kings Regiment in Kuwait back in 1997, good group of guys. Their chain of command didn't care to much for me taking their enlisted in to the Kuwaiti's officer mess. "Screw them if they can't take a joke." *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****

  14. i'm not so impressed with how the uspa treats students trying to get the a...so i'm not so orried about getting it. ______________________________________________ I don't think it is the USPA that is treating you wrong if no one at your DZ knows what test you should be taking. Your instructor should know, that is his job and what you have paid him for. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****

  16. We may have ran into one another at some point then. I was in F Co 1/1 SWTG 98-99 and B Co 1/1 SWTG from 99-00. Or at least know some of the same people. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****
  17. Cool. When I first got to group there was one Scuba team and one HALO team per company and then the cuts started. They switched it to one of each per Battalion. Do you know when they switched it back? I retired in 2000. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****
  18. Happy Birthday *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****
  19. HALO is even hard to get in the special op community. Only one HALO team in a battalion. "Getting paid to skydive".... better get that in writeing. HALO school is hard to get unless your special ops. Even as a rigger, I never could get HALO school. Have it in writeing or don't expect it. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? 22. Retired US Army, Special Forces 18C4X, SFC Coolest Jump memory: Jumping with the French 13 Airborne Regiment into a field exercise. I never seen so many leave the plane so quickly with a static line. Needless to say we couldn't let them out do us. I was never so close to another jumper, and their chutes don't steer very well. I spent about 9 years out of Bragg and was there visiting last October. Good luck in the future with the military and take care overseas. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? 23. Lori My oldest daughter will be 18 in October and is planning to do a tandem, her birthday present. It will be a great experience to share with her. My children have heard plenty of stories of my experiences in the service, this is one that I can share. Bob *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane?
