I guess it has been a long time since I been at a public library, I have never seen a playboy or hustler at one. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****

Jimmy Carter is full of shit about North Korea
SlyFox replied to sundevil777's topic in Speakers Corner
Yes, Carter was there, even after he was told to leave. Which his agreement was to give Cedras a large some of money. Which the only option Cedras should have been given is leave. I thought Carter was bad at politics and needs to stick to building houses. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.**** -

Most that are attacked are not traitors, just normal people going to the market or work. Why are you so quick to categorize all Iraqis killed by terrorist over there as being traitors? *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.**** -

I have spent two years in Iraq in two major cities. I have heard some of what the Iraqi’s have said and have seen how they are trying to improve their country. I don’t have any special access to any information other than being on the ground there. I can tell you every time I would come home and watch the news, I was surprised how much things went to hell. My first trip out of Iraq I was shocked, and then when I returned a month later it was the same as when I left, not the mass of confusion the news was showing. I have been in the news media when I was in the military and the story printed and aired was not like reality. I understand the media and books are pretty much our only source of information. I have had a report talk to me, she told me if I would not tell her what was going on she would have to make something up. Guess which choice I gave her? If you ask why I didn’t talk to her, it was to protect those we were talking to. Unfortunately as everything else they also revolve around money, and seem to have got into the entertainment industry instead of the information industry. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Are you saying we target schools and hospitals? I have watched how we deliberately avoid them. To see a terrorist deliberately attack the public. While I was over there I considered myself a valid target for those that do now want us there, I also understand the tactics. But you can see how they try to terrorize the people of Iraq. They attack the people, the Iraqi police force and those trying to reestablish the government. Is it so hard to see the difference? *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? It is more of a pity that people believe everything they read in the papers. I would venture to say going to the market to buy what you need to live on, has nothing to do with collaborating with the US, or going to school and the other targets to keep Iraq from progress. When we start to understand the terrorist and the so called freedom fighters do not care about the interest of the people or Iraq, or the country. It is a shame that most people only hear about the deaths that go on over there. That people want to listen to polls. When polls are done they asked the questions in ways to manipulate the answer. I have had the chance to hear from the Iraqi’s and I have heard them say thank you. I have seen the building of a hospital and power plants. As far as knowing history, what better way to understand the history books as to live the experience and then watch how the media will also butcher it up? *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? I am guessing that you are saying that a freedom fighter also would attack their own people? The terrorist in Iraq attack the local populace more then they attack the U.S. military. I have spent two years there and they are there. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.**** -

Victory against this enemy comes in small, nearly unnoticable peices. When things like 70% of a population vote in an election where they choose the victor. When a person from that country risks his/her life to come tell the American forces where a very large stash of munitions is. (as just happened) When that countries military starts to step up and take control of thier own country so our men and woman can start coming home. When informants feel enough trust in the forces there to find away to get information about an insurgent location. When areas of that country are stable enough to see a growing economy. When 3000 schools have been built or rebuilt. When our wounded tell us during recouperation that they want to get healed up and get back to thier units because they want to finish what they see as a great mission. When a population works for the first time to try and find a way that is inclusive to all in that country. When the days comes that our generals are no longer running the show and that countries leaders offers us a place in the country for a base. I could go on...... Thank you. You are right the media will not show the successes, they don’t sell papers or rate for time on the air. If they do mention it, it is mentioned as a small blurb and that is it. We know how bias the media is, the beheading of an American maybe aired once or twice, but how many times have they shown the same photo of the Abu Grab prison. Unfortunately even though we all know our media is all about sensationalizing everything, people still thinks the media is unbiased and they never take anything out of context. There is progress happening here. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****

My son, who's in Iraq (82nd Airborne) tells me that not one Iraqi has thrown flowers at him . So much for Republican promises! I have been in Iraq for a year and a half and I have heard the Iraqi’s say “thank you” for what we are doing here. Not many flowers over here to be throwing around anyhow. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****

SlyFox replied to Erroll's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I jumped mostly the MC-1C. Was there from 1991 to 2000. Wether I jumped with group or 82d the lowest jump that I did was 1250 at Bragg. I have did one at 900, but wasn't at Bragg. But, I did jump the MC-1C all but one jump there. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.**** -

My choice wasn't up there. The rig I learned on was being sold. I had about 35 jumps on it at the time and like the way it handled. Other then a few jumps on a Manta and the Skymaster, my jumps have been on my Sabre. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****

Your instructor will explain what you need to do. The rip cord once pulled you will have to hang on to it till you land, or put it in your jumpsuit. I let go of mine twice, which I had to pay for. Good luck and have fun. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****

This was a reply to a post from a new jumper. No one wants to see any injuries. Why would anyone support someone sending a unsulicited photo, or in this form support someone trying to discourage a fellow jumper from jumping? *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? I totally agree with you. It is important to show students malfuntions that they may have to deal with. That is a must. *****Why would anyone jump from a perfectly good airplane? Because it isn't much fun if it's broke.****
