This does sound fishy. The weight limits are made by the gear manufacturers. Charging more money does not change the fact that it is endangering your life as well as the tandem master. I believe some student gear is rated for around 300 lbs, so you might be able to go through AFF or make static line jumps. I'm not too sure about all of this so hopefully someone else will post here with more options for you.

What would it take to fix something like this? The tear is about 1/4" long. It's on a Sabre170, mfg Jan 1996. Is this expensive? Time consuming? I'm waiting to hear back from a part time rigger on his opinion and thought I would see what the verdict is on here. Thanks all!

I have to agree with some of you that Hi/lo was awesome...

What do you think is the best thread ever started on dropzone.com forums? My vote has to be for Scary stories from the old days http://www.dropzone.com/cgi-bin/forum/gforum.cgi?post=270299#270299

My parents are OTR team drivers and I've spent several summers riding with my dad. I know all about ch19 and I don't think that's what I'm normally picking up. There are a few voices that I'm starting to recognize. I hadn't thought of HAM, but that's a good possibility.

I was wondering why they are always talking about me!

I moved back into my parents house for the summer and it's close to I-40. I keep noticing CB radio conversations over all the speakers in the house. My computer speakers, my sisters cd player, even our home surround sound picks it up. The only thing I haven't heard it on is my guitar amp. Is there a way to stop this? If I buy really good computer speakers, will this still happen?

Haha, I never even noticed it was there till now!!

Is there video of that falcon anywhere??

The only problem I've had switching from glasses to contacts is that my first pair of goggles were really cheap and leaked air in freefall. This dried my contacts and sometimes I would blink under canopy and they would move or fall out. I since bought better goggles that fit right and haven't had a problem since.

It's not totally laughable. I know for a fact the University of Tennessee receives several cease and desist notices a week for people who are hosting copyright music/videos. It's not very difficult to determine who they are. The trial costs would be expensive, but it might deter people enough to make it worthwile for the record companies. I wouldn't be suprised at all if a few unlucky people were made into "examples."

Maybe I should try this sometime to slow down my Sabre 170.

I'm new to this sport and looking back I've had times that I've thought something wasn't right. In the past I had the mindset that I'm new and they don't want to hear from me but I've seen that even the most experienced skydivers can get complacent and need a safety reminder, even from a newbie. Don't think that someone who has less than 50 jumps is useless in this sport. I try to learn everything I can and I probably know more than most people with 30 jumps. I have ALOT to learn but so do most of us.

What are the physical differences Classic II vs GTi

This is the closest thing that I have: http://web.utk.edu/~dmain/skylog03.mpg I'm in the black jumpsuit. I got pulled by another jumper on this 4 way and ended up sideways so I used my legs to flip around. Not a traditional barrel roll, but it was fun!

Would you recommend these pantz to skydiving newbies? I love tracking dives and want to fly the bridman as soon as I get more experience. Would I notice a huge difference between these pantz and an RW suit with booties? Any scary situations I could get myself into with these things? Thanks

Thanks for clarifying. My thinking is still that it is better to flare 5 feet too high, than 5 feet too low. At least when starting out with a lightly loaded canopy.

Very carefully.

Updated info! http://www.alti-2.com/neptune.htm It has a "fun meter"

I just exchanged it for another and it's still doing the same thing. I tried on another (MUCH slower) computer and it works fine! I have no idea what it could be.
