I hit a deer with my truck a couple of years ago, that I fed the whole DZ with. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

"Loosing a skyball is dangerous.." That's why skyballs are only used over uninhabited areas, and a ballmaster (who knows what he's doing) is responsible for recovering the skyball before deployment. Excellent training tool, but carries some responsibility... The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

Lew has a stalker??? Point him out to me - I'll take care of him. Sorry we didn't get there 'til the last load. Would've liked to get some 'tude with you. I appreciate the loaner gloves. You were nowhere to be found when we left, so I left 'em on your rig. At least we had the chance to say "buh-bye" to the Casa... The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

It's too bad they are the only ones in the whole country that have a need for people with Criminal Justice degrees... Or, maybe the only ones that actually pay people, I mean... The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

Former military jumper/jumpmaster. Best jump was also scariest. Night HALO from 38,000 feet. Full moon, completely overcast. Clouds below looked like a huge puffy landscape. So bright we exited with sun visors down. Last out, with huge separation. Started getting down to clouds, and saw jumper below me backing up straight towards me, falling slower than I was. Stuck my arms out, pulled my legs in to backslide away. He started speeding up, towards me... Adrenalin was pumping - could hear my own breathing - arms and body so tight, I thought I was teetering on a backloop - getting closer, and closer... Realized moments before I hit the cloud cover and other jumper that it was my shadow... Fraction of a second still in sensory overload as I entered the clouds - I could see them move in front of me. And pitch black in the next instant. Hands still swollen with adrenalin when I landed - thoroughly pumped. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

I've done many stadium jumps, including football games. I have had a PRO rating, but I've heard of people getting the FAA equivalent. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

I consider myself pretty liberal, but some of those things are okay with me. I'm not married, and no kids, but someday I'll find someone who'll be willing to put up with me. There are certain things I will expect from her. No, not cooking and cleaning. Not bringing my slippers. Not washing the dishes. She had better be shooting good video of me! And, if we are rushed for the next load, and I have to go do an edit - how about packing for me! When I'm working my ass off on a 10.10 (someday I'll be there) - she'll be belaying for me! When I untie the last line, she'll be at the wheel, turning a bit to starboard, and making sure we clear the dock! When I get to the bottom of a black diamond - she had better be waiting for me! I don't think you'll find many people in here with puristic traditional gender roleplaying. If you are looking for a man who wants you by his side (not home watching soap operas) in life - you've found the right sport! The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

I'm with you. You can get something huge, with a handle and wheels, for less than a "skydiving" gear bag. It gives better protection, easier to haul around, and if you look hard enough, you can find good colors. Wal-mart is a good starting point. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

I've never had, or even heard of, a tandem student puking in freefall. They've always done it under canopy or on the ground. Sometimes you can tell when a student is going to be a "puker." Spending a little extra time with assurances and breathing exercises helps to get them to relax, and cuts the puke factor way down. I even ask during the briefing if anyone has a history of motion sickness, and let them know "do not keep this a secret" from the TM. Very gentle canopy input, focus on the horizon, and deep breathing usually prevent actual spewing, also. If they're gonna' barf - tell 'em to barf down their jumpsuits, so the acids don't eat up the strings and make us fall... The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

Yes, there are a few products already available. They are not cheap, but certainly less expensive than losing a canopy. I have been looking at a few of the products already adapted for skydiving. A little cost prohibitive at this point, but I am also looking at some other options. When you consider the cost of a canopy - it makes sense. Not all canopies are lost, but even the down time from losing a main for a few hours of jumping, the hassle of sending out several staff members that could be doing other, more productive, things - it still makes sense. Especially for something like a tandem or busy student rig. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

Who would chop with only a broken steering line?
Cajones replied to riddler's topic in Safety and Training
Be careful with those sort of trivalties. A main with a broken steering line is something I've seen students handle (actually the steering line was stuck in the keeper ring, but they still couldn't use it). The reserve canopy has no guarantees of being perfect. A fairly recent cutaway from a broken suspension lines in Suffolk turned into a reserve with two suspension lines that separated at a finger trap. If you have a canopy you can safely land - do so. There is no second chance if the canopy you exchange for has its own set of problems. The laws of physics are strictly enforced. -

My steering lines are pretty loose, too. I have 22inch risers and really long arms, so I still get a nice long toggle input. They are loose, so I can pull pretty hard on front risers, with zero tail deflection. I haven't actually lost a steering line, or had one cut to force a rear-riser landing, but I'm certain that it would have no noticeable effect. The laws of physics are strictly enforced. -
I'd give you my autograph... And anything else your heart desires. Don't forget, I told you on the dirt dive before the wedding: "If this thing goes to hell, put the wedding party between you and the camera... I'll make you famous." Just another classic example of "It's all about the video" The laws of physics are strictly enforced.

Help the Batt pick where to fly- Raeford or St. George?

St. George, without a doubt. Excellent vibe. Turbine airplane. All disciplines. What more could you ask for??? The laws of physics are strictly enforced. -

I have landed my Samurai 150 at 1.8 with rear risers only. I worked up to it on several jumps, but I'm pretty confident that if I lost a toggle, I'd be okay to land what I had. The laws of physics are strictly enforced.
