I've been involved in painting gel-coated boats using Imron and Awlgrip. They're pricey and fuckin' nasty!! If you can get even a hold of them, you'll want to do it outdoors and wear a respirator with a new filter. You should read up on any other precautions before you try it too. Or find a buddy with an auto paint shop and get him to shoot it for you and use the left overs from his jobs to splatter your helmet with. As for how, we always sanded, wiped down with an appropriate solvent to remove any oils etc., tacked, primed and shot it. Heh, you should come by Texas A&M's campus sometime. Conservative folks going to school. Infact, A&M is one of the few campuses that didn't have a war protest during the Vietnam war. We did send a good number of Aggies to fight there, though. Okay Dave, all but 1 out of the 43,957 colleges... It depends on the college and the time. When Bush I bombed Iraq, there was a lot of celebration where I was, much to the dismay of the faculty. But, I understand the tide has changed there... along with my alumni support.
