Revelation: Americans support higher taxes for better traffic.

I know: you gotta pay $1k/year to ride in the left two lanes of an eight lane highway or the left on the six lane. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt -
Do you think the air marshalls and other intelligence sources are making any difference? Do you think terrorists are as likely to find safe havens in as many places? -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

and as I asked, so now it's back to being arbitrary?? -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

How? A guideline provides some uniformity in the sentencing of criminals. So, judge A imposes a similar sentence to judge B. It's harder to say he got a harder sentence because he was [insert minority]. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. I can't compare them, but there are other companies constructing beds out of the same material for a whole lot less. You may want to check them out. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

WTF?? So liberals are saying: remaking a state in our image = freedom is bad eradicating a religion = huh? enslaving another country = huh? I don't understand. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

One's robbing from the rich. The other is paying for what you consumed, if you can. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt -

No, you let them eat, live, etc. and when they've reached the end, they help defer someone else's expenses for medicine, if there's anything left. I remember one woman, a full member of a country club, wondering how they were going to pay for their kids' college. The thing that bugs me is when the people who save and make do, are then put in the same class as people who spent everything and expect to be taken care. I don't know the solution. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt -

I despise the estate tax. That said why should the government pay for someone who can pay for themselves? The option I proffered allows people to defer expenses for medication. The other thing that should go into effect is not allowing providers to charge less to people with private insurance. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. A serf only had to pay 1/3 to the feudal lord. Also, you're confusing Medicaid (low income) with Medicare (65+). Medicare pays about 80% of "reasonable", Medicaid closer to 20% -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt -

Do you consider yourself a serf? At what point would you? How much do you pay to the government in income taxes? Real estate? Sales? SSI? ... -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt -
In West Palm, they told the morning show people this morning. The main guy's having his first child on Friday... kinda sucks. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

I can't comment on your mother, but I do have a problem with subsidizing people who are able to work and have means of their own. The government should help those that truly cannot help themselves or perhaps a better solution is for the government to take up to 100% of their estates to pay back what they received. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Try getting a job if they're 65 and didn't save enough to retire. People are living to 90; that's 25 years of Medicare and social security. The system was never designed for that. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt -

That's what I meant. Is it really conservative to load up a canopy and only fly straight in or are big hooks more dangerous? -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

Is it more conservative to wring the most performance out of a canopy or come straight in (no front risers) under something smaller? -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

Bush lied only if 9/11 didn't change anything. You can't hold someone to plans interrupted by something Clinton failed to address after they tried it the first time. You also might want to look at the other post for how all the democrats lied too about Iraq, WMD, etc. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. The last time I gave a guy money to buy a hotdog from a vendor on the corner of the intersection where I was waiting for the light, he turned the other way, whistled and bought crack. I haven't given anyone cash since. Occasionally, I'll hand a powerbar or gatorade to one of them that actually looks homeless. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Would you agree that you'd be in the top income bracket to save $5M? So, how much would it be if you managed to save/invest (taxed too) $10k per year for 50years? [No, I'm not assuming any stepped up bases upon death and think about what $10k was in the 1970's] For 2004. This part of the thread started out as a reinstatement of the "Death Tax," which I assumed meant back to the old way. The last time I checked you could give away the same amount of money as gifts during the course of your life as your exemption and not pay any gift tax; however, those gifts would be returned to your estate for purposes of calculating it. No? Otherwise, the nice person giving you $1M (and ignoring the exemption) would have to pay the IRS gift taxes on the spot. -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. The effective tax rate is 50% @ about $7M Don't make assumptions! On the other hand, I was working under the old 55% tax scheme. Why not $5M so the 55% really hurts Okay: $7.5M x 33% = $2.5M over a lifetime 5,000,000 - 1,500,000 = 3,500,000 3,000,000 x 43% (blended) = 1,290,800 500,000 x 55% = $275,000 $1,565,800 Gov't $1,565,800 + $2.5M = $4,065,800 total taxes Family $3,434,200 Kev, try some more tax classes. While the recipient on a gift may not be taxed, when you give over $10k (might be higher now) per year to one individual the estate tax clock starts running. Also, there's a generation skipping tax to worry about too if your not giving it to your kids. Okay, you're right the $5,000,000 was a gift; so, let's back up again: How much did the parents have before the IRS took it taxed it twice? Over $15M, right? IRS $11.6M Grandkids: $3.4M -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt

No, I shit on the idea that the government should get more than half of what someone worked their life for and have already had 50% more than that taxed when they earned it. $100 x 33% income tax $67 x 50% estate tax Govt: 66.5% Family: 33.5% -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Better question is why isn't he concerned about the ban of what he does see? Inexplicably? Did your momma tell you what happens if you kill too many kittens? -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. Larry Flynt
