Double needle walking foot industrial machine
Alexg3265 replied to Alexg3265's topic in Gear and Rigging
https://atlaslevy.3dcartstores.com/Automatic-Double-Needle-Sewing-Machine-Brother-LT2-B875-907-Tag-4182_p_4230.html Something like this....? I was looking at this.... And I'm waiting on some quotes... I've been scouring eBay and Craigslist and online retailers..... I've also decided needle feed is fine and a walking foot is unnecessary. Which then I can find an automatic one.... Hehehe fuck trimming threads. Ok so 1/4" for almost all except the bottom loaded ribs, which are 3/8... Maybe a dumb question but are there any that you could swap out the foot to switch between 1/4 and 3/8? After talking to a few reps I'm leaning toward used... I just really don't want to get something and then be stuck fixing it up after a few weeks. I was that kid jumping out if his tree house with a bed sheet. Double needle walking foot industrial machine
Alexg3265 replied to Alexg3265's topic in Gear and Rigging
Ok so I need some advice. I want to buy a double needle walking foot machine for sewing everything from containers binding edges to manufacturing a full size canopy. I've got a few ideas and a 15sq foot prototype already built and performing well.... Or as well as unmanned drop from a quadcopter can go. I've been using a single needle machine for a while now and I'm sick of sewing everything twice. My budget is roughly $2500. I think I need/want a 3/8th inch needle width. What's The standard guage on canopies nowadays. I'm looking for more for a new one rather than something I'll be needing to fix up or put a lot of work into. All suggestions, links, information, opinions are awesome! Go! I was that kid jumping out if his tree house with a bed sheet. My dad wouldn't let me use the ladder to try the roof... -

Florida skydiving and AFF to PFF back in Canada.
Alexg3265 replied to gingergal's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I live in Naples at the moment. Skydive SW Florida is about an hour and is a small cessna dz. don't expect more than 2-3 jumps if your lucky. Almost all tandems. Skydive spaceland Clewiston is about an hour and a half away and is where my wife and I call home. Twin otter and lots of up jumpers. We're moving to Deland because we need to be closer to out addiction. Naples is just far from jumping. Plan on it being an all day thing. Edit. They used to jump out of immokalee, but that stopped years ago. Nothing in Naples. I'm sitting at work looking at planes taking off at the Naples airport and damn I wish they jumped there! I live right around the corner and work at cherry hill tattoo. Come stop in and say hi! I was that kid jumping out if his tree house with a bed sheet. I don't know how they're doing their hip rings now, but the design leaves that little fold or kink in the mlw above the sewn junction. My wife bought an i4 like right before the next gen came out. We saw the ads for it while waiting for her container. Long story short, it's been resized twice and had the chest articulation taken out. It still lifts 6-8" off her back in sit. She jumps a mirage g4 now, that wasn't made for her and fits perfectly, gives better movement, and stays on her back in the air. I showed aerodyne the videos and stills to show the problem and basically she tried on the g4 that I had sitting in the loft for the last 6 years and it was a perfect fit, so fuck it. I still have my icon i5 from 2005 and it fits me fine and I dint get brake fires. It moves around on my back a little but is pretty secure. Personally I think the icons were designed with a stockier build in mind. Find any little girl with an icon and you'll see what I mean. Custom or not. I really hate they're hip ring they way it's set up. The mlw and lateral are sewn at a 90 and you always end up point loading the edge of your mlw. The lateral and the mlw should be separately hooked up the the hip ring. Just something that I've noticed and now bugs the shit out of me. I never would have noticed these things till I started rigging and get to fingerfuck all these nice rigs and see how they're set up and why. First time at Deland... and I'm a little nervous
Alexg3265 replied to ShannonElise's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
My wife and I love Deland so much we're moving from Naples to Deland on dec 18th. Were 2 min from the dz and less than half a mile from my work now! So stoked! Maybe we'll see you up there. I drive almost 2 hours to the nearest decent dz now and it's just too far. I'll be tattooing at untouchable ink. I'll always hook up a fellow skydiver! Yes shameless plug.... Deland is my favorite dz. be ready for a culture shock. Everything has been said.... Get a briefing. The landing areas are big and plentiful. Stay heads up, now there's more than just 3 other canopies in the air and landing. Pay attention to landing patterns and you'll be golden. Have fun! Maybe I'll see you there! http://www.piriform.com/recuva/download Basically when you delete something, you don't actually delete it till you overwrite it. You take it out of the registry. Think pulling the card from the card catalog in the library. The book is still there, but the camera/computer acts like it isn't. There's a program that should get it back. It's free. I've used it with mixed results. If you've used the card since, you're probably fucked. If deleting it was the last thing you did, then your chances are good. In Florida (read humid as fuck) I fit a 159 snugly into an i4 and a hornet 150 (packs bigger, galvenor fabric) it fits a Safire 139 perfectly. A 169 is going to be really really tight. Have fun. I personally have an i5 and the biggest thing I had in it was a sabre 170. You're going to hate life when you pack if you try and stuff that in there. Ahhhhhhhh, no it makes sense. I didn't even think of that. The thread seems stringy if that makes sense. Let's see if I'm following properly... If a left twist left spin comes off the spool it tightens itself when pulled off the top of the spool whereas a right twist wound left will essentially untwist itself... I'm not talking unrolling them, but pulling from the top. Makes sense in my head. I'm going to take a closer look at that thread when I get home! Thanks! I have a pretty respectable selection of e thread (20+ colors), most from thread exchange and I have yet to see any substandard or cheap thread. I ordered neon orange from another supplier, and even though the strength is right, it unraveles and the individual pieces separate very easily. Had some issues with the sewing machine grabbing half the thread.... I don't use that thread unless I have to. Not coated or bonded correctly? Only e thread I've ever seen do that. I had some empty spools, pretty sure the wife threw them away. A 1/4" Woden dowel hooked up to a drill winds very fast. Throw the dowel into a cup or jar and you have a 10 cent way to roll what you need and feed properly. It doesn't work well for storage obviously, but in a pinch it worked fine for me. Thethreadexchange.com And atlaslevvy.com They have all sizes and types and colors of nylon thread and any color you can imagine. Thread exchange I prefer. But these are 2 I've gotten lots of thread from Both are way cheaper than paragear. By half at least. I was that kid jumping out if his tree house with a bed sheet.
