    Freefly suit

Nice! Congrats on the suit! Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  2. 22 and he pretty much ended up being a real dick after he knew he had me. It was a good time to have that experience though... even though it left me really emotionally damaged, I learned a LOT after that experience and helped me know what love really is and down the road I found Matt. Engaged, been together for four years, he treats me like gold, and I love him like the day I met him. Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  3. 1.) Was spoiled for so long living spitting distance from two awesome DZ's that I called home during those years, but now I live in South Houston and have a 1hr 15min drive up to my current home DZ SDH. 2.) A little. 3.) Everything except country, but mostly rock, indie, folk, etc. 4.) Nope. I live in TX, but I am not proudly from TX and I do NOT wear a belt buckle! 5.) No children. Engaged to The111
  4. Yea, since this has been bumped I reread through a lot of the posts and I'll echo what Chuck said on the first page. If possible, visit a chamber to simulate high altitude hypoxia. I did one as part of an aviation physiology class I took in my undergrad right in melbourne, FL, and it is VERY educational. I had no clue that even on that extra altitude sunset jump that how I was feeling was actually hypoxia in some instances! At least if you can get in the chamber you will know the symptoms from then on out, and if you feel anything like that come on during a high alti jump where you happen to be using a crappy O2 system, then you know to sit your ass right down on that bench and ride the plane down. It's a silent killer and it's REALLY not worth it! Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  5. You want to talk about grades at school, eh? Wasn't Bush the very last in his class at the academy or something? Or wait... I think that was McCaine. Gosh, I dunno... I just can't keep track anymore! Yep. Here we go. Anything to divert attention from the truth of the discussion at hand. If there wasn't any point to it that is one thing, but to prove that it happens on BOTH sides is another. It's relevant to the debate. Calling somebody out for throwing stones when they live in a glass house is VERY relevant. It's the same for both sides. Call em' how they are. Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)

  7. And the republicans don't do that too??? Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  8. Why bother? A few distorted facts about history have no usefulness in the conversation. Anything about current events is OPINION! You welcome to yours. Not worth my time to try to change it or at least bring it into reality. Example, "We have intentionally dumbed down our schools, ignored our history, and no longer teach our founding documents, why we are exceptional, and why we are worth preserving. Students by and large cannot write, think critically, read, or articulate. Parents are not revolting, teachers are not picketing, school boards continue to back mediocrity. Why? " This is OPINION! Not fact. Parts of this statement may apply to individuals or even whole school districts. But as a blanket statement for the country? Opinion. Thats exactly what I was just about to point out. There is no use in arguing over OPINION. We'll be going around in circles all day like most already do in SC. I'm not saying there wasn't anything factual that you could look up and back up in that article, but most of it was opinion. Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  9. I watched it on CNN yesterday, and the message was VERY clear to me. I always text and drive. Stupid, I know, but I will definitely think twice about doing that after watching that PSA. If it can do that for even a few more teens and adult drivers who text and drive, then I think it's served it purpose. Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  10. I too will throw in my two cents here and disagree that the walls are a detriment to learning. The walls are actually a PLUS. If you don't like the tunnel because you are bouncing off the walls and can't get the hang of it, then that is every reason to stay in there and work at it because if you're bouncing off of the walls in there it means that you look just as messy on your skydive and your back/fwd/side sliding all over the place and your fellow jumpers who are with you are the ones chasing you around. For skydivers it is really tough to spend that first amount of money to get in there and get stable on your belly/back before you start freeflying, and it might seem like a "waste," but it really does pay off in the long run. I promise. Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  11. G'morning! It is my "Friday" at work tonight... the light at the end of the tunnel is near. It's the best light ever because I am jetting off for a visit back home to Jersey tonight, and enjoying a few jumps this weekend at Cross Keys. Damn, I miss that place!! Well, I'll take any place other than Houston, but that's a whole other thread I could start. (although I do love the dropzone I jump at here - Skydive Houston. That's about the only thing I do like about this place!) No more coffee for me. I need to go to bed when I get off here in an hour. You guys enjoy yours though! Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  12. +1. I clean like a crazy woman sometimes. Other times I just want a beer and watch TV to put my mind somewhere else. Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  13. If you judge all of that just by debate of one issue, then you must think Bush is a friggin MAJOR idiot since he has proved over and over and over again on many many issues that he mismanaged, mis-stated, and was mis-informed on a LOT of things. I'm just sayin' with that reasoning......... Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  14. Ditto Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  15. Using little girls, dishonesty runs deep in Obama's crowd. The the vans of parents and their hoards of children that I have seen with their "NO SOCIALIST HEALTH CARE" signs picketting on the sides of the road in Houston isn't considered using their little children either, I guess?? Like that five year old kid holding that sign that his mommy made standing in the 115 degree heat all day even knows what an insurance company is and what health care is all about! I think that is ten times worst than having your daughter invoke her right to ask a question in an organized forum, especially if she is old enough to obviously understand what is going on and has been interested in politics for a long time. Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  16. Way to go Skydive Houston!!!! I frickin love you guys and I am glad the fundraiser got to get going. Not just this weekend, but every weekend they do an awesome job of making their staff and locals feel cared for without ever missing a beat with the tandems. They really do an awesome job! Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  17. MOVE TO FLORIDA!!!!!! Trust me... I lived in FL on the space coast (Melbourne) for five years while I went to school and for a little while after graduation, and I loved every minute of it. I didn't want to move, but I got a job offer in Houston I couldn't refuse, so here I am in Houston and I am abso-friggin-loutely MISERABLE. I am originally from NJ born and raised before college, but I seriously am so in love with FL that as soon as I can get back there I am settling down and buying a house (if I can find a job in my field), even though all of my family is in NJ. Some of the things I miss most are the skydiving and surfing, and that happens to be part of the things your debating on moving there. Trust me, the surf at Sebastian Inlet or Ponce Inlet is pretty good. There are great dropzones EVERYWHERE, you have the tunnel, the space shuttle takes off in your backyard, you can wake up in the morning and surf and fish on the beach, and I miss the food and laid back atmosphere. If you like that kind of stuff, you can't go wrong on the space coast in FL!! Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  18. DO YOU BOYS LIKE MEXICO!!!!?????? Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  19. I hear tell that there is this Matt Hoover guy who has some pictures somewhere out there on that internet thing... could just be a rumor though, I hear those happen a lot on the internet too. Yea, I also heard that his asshole fiance is making him leave his wingsuits at home so he can take freefly/freestyle pictures over the beach for the whole boogie! Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  20. I also think it is ashame that you will let this one incident destroy your view of a great dropzone. IMO, I don't even think it was that big of a deal honestly! If you didn't nothing wrong, then you shouldn't mind because it doesn't matter. Maybe the instructor was coming to talk to you about the landing BECAUSE the other load before you landed every which way and they were starting at that point forward to be on top of people for the rest of the day. (and they very well should if that was the case!) I doubt that instructor meant any harm, and I have never once been approached by an instructor there with an attitude about anything. If an attitude was the case, then maybe this person was having a bad day. **Edited to add for the OP: Sebastian is pretty good with nice scenery, but I LOVE Z-Hills. I moved from FL two years ago and the thing I miss most is the tunnel and Zhills. Love the staff, love the atmosphere, and love the layout of the airport and the outs that are around it. Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)

I still want to see pics!!! :) Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  22. I disagree. It seems to me ( from what I have read here & this is all that I know about it ) that the dz is not doing anything wrong. Mediation IMO is when both parties are 'somewhat' in the wrong and they both need to meet in the middle; each gives a little until they reach agreement. If I were the DZO and someone offered mediation, I would politely so 'No, thank you.' Just my thoughts, JerryBaumchen Thats exactly right. The DZ in this case has done NOTHING wrong. Seriously... when I say nothing, I really mean NOTHING. These guys just keep maliciously attacking the good people at this dropzone with lies and causing nothing but trouble for their own personal gain. It really is a damn shame! I had a lot of trouble settling in to Houston when I first moved out here from FL, and this dropzone's staff and the dzo consistently go out of their way to make people welcome in the family there. He bends over backwards every chance he gets to give and give and give and give for his staff, customers, and regular jumpers. They follow all rules, are very safety conscious, and extend every courtesy to those guys who use the airport. It just seems so unfair that a person (and people) like this who are now being attacked by butt heads like the ones they are dealing with now. I'm really glad to call Skydive Houston my home now, and I just hope that they can keep fighting the good fight because they definitely in no way deserve anything that is being throw at them right now from these low lives who are behind this case. I keep thinking of that saying, 'the truth will set you free,' and I hope that it works out that way in this case because they have nothing but truth and innocence on their side. I also keep telling myself that karma is a bitch, so hopefully these guys behind this case get whats coming to them one day. Apologies for the spelling (and grammar).... I got a B.S, not a B.A. :)
  23. He has pointed that out, plenty of times. He doesn't go out of his way to paint a rosey picture of the economy or the job market. Actually, if I remember correctly, he was very adamant about breaking the rosey picture that Bush was trying to paint through the end of his term. Also, I thought it was pretty common knowledge that the job market most always lags behind the general economy/stocks/etc when things begin to bounce back up, so I wouldn't be saddling up the calvary yet to nail obama to a cross because the job market hasn't had the rebound that stocks have had and everything. I can sit here and say give him a little more time until I'm blue in the face, but it doesn't matter because the haters are going to grasp straws no matter what; I mean come on.... they were grasping straws and blaming him for everything an hour after he took office! Freefly suit

1 week turnaround?? From scratch? Yep... he had mine done and shipped in about the same time. When people say the man is on the phone banging away at his sewing machine giving you a step by step play on how the suit is going, it's seriously no lie. I have about 20 jumps on that suit I got from him in July and I LOVE it, and now am already contemplating another suit from him cut for freestyle. At this point, I don't think I'd ever order from another company for as long as I skydive just based on the comfort of the suit, the durability, and the most awesome customer service you can ask for. **edited to add: I attached a pic of how the suit came out. I really do love it. More pics are up at www.matthoover.com (July gallery) if anybody wants to take a look. I know when I was looking into suit designs I was trying to find all the LS pics on the net that I could come across. This is a based off of the "Evo" stock option.
