Ah, we have a convert! Glad you had a good time. Well there's this little team here you might have heard of .... 'Shell 'Shell

Thanks. I thought so too. Maybe the next poll should be efs4ever - real or internet hoax? 'Shell 'Shell

Right. Thanks, the wording could be misleading. There was only the one woman with the t-shirt. And along with everyone else down there she knew that the police weren't putting up with much. Warnings were issued in the newspapers, daily. Exactly. The police said they would arrest people if they were partying in the streets. And they did. And for those that weren't partying and listened when the police asked them to leave the area weren't arrested. The only people that seemed to gravitate to the streets when the games were over were the idiots and they deserved what they got. I have no sympathy for them. Hopefully Edmonton follows suit with Calgary and institutes the same bylaw. Might keep the idiots in check. Oh, here's a BIGGER Oilers fan for you! 'Shell

My nephew did exactly that when he was younger. He's a lefty but before he started school, he'd switch back and forth depending which side of the table he was on (he liked to have more table space next to the arm that was drawing because it allowed for him to spread out his crayons and easily reach them!). He's a lefty now but he can still draw and write with his right hand. And his "O's" are written differently with each hand - counter clockwise with the right, clockwise with the left! Continue your cabbage patch happy dance, PLF!! 'Shell

You got one STRANGE sewing kit at home, lady! 'Shell

Fair enough. A stretch, in my eyes, but fair enough. I think we're getting a little off topic here. Maybe we should leave it alone and let comments regarding Acme's original post keep coming. BTW, you're a brave, strong woman. Kudos to you.

That's exactly how I feel too. It's the analogy that didn't make sense to me. Do what's best for your kids. And trust your gut. Or "women's intuition" as the boys would say. Best of luck with your kids!! And I hope you find a wonderful care-giver for them. I'm sure you will! 'Shell

That analogy is hardly the same thing. Your child CAN'T get AIDS from just being around someone who has it. Period. Your child CAN get hurt by someone that has a mental illness, regardless of what it stemmed from. 'Shell 'Shell

Edward. It looks like an Edward. 'Shell 'Shell

Let them embarass you ... let your SO giggle about it. Think of how much fun you'll have when the roles are REVERSED! Enjoy the weekend. Enjoy the family. Enjoy him. And eat lots of turkey!

I don't believe so. Unless you count it as one for Semenko getting involved in the fight! 'Shell

Not many guys do that anymore....Iginla is cut out of the Gordie Howe/Rocket Richard mold ... great goal scorer and he'll drop the gloves too. I think Wade Belak for the Leafs got a Gordie Howe hat trick three years ago...those are the only guys I remember doing it recently. Ah, my dear Murray ... my dear sweet Georges has one already ... along with a few others. "Gordie Howe hat tricks are far from the most common of hockey occurrences. Record keeping of the feat (a goal, an assist and a fight in the same game) is spotty; the San Jose Sharks are the only NHL team that bothers to list the franchise’s Gordie Howe hatters in their media guide. In the Sharks’ 14-year history, the team has had 21 hat tricks and just eight Gordie Howe Hat tricks. There has been a minor outbreak of them recently, however. Anaheim's Shane O'Brien, Ottawa's Patrick Eaves and Phoenix's Georges Laraque each had a Gordie Howe hat trick in the season's first month. O'Brien, the irascible defenseman who was so impressive with the Portland Pirates during last spring's Calder Cup playoffs, has the neatest "trick" of the bunch. One-third of his Gordie Howe hat trick was also his first (and thus far only) NHL goal. From the Washington Capitals News Cool, huh! 'Shell 'Shell

Trust me, both the city, the Old Strathcona Business Association and the police tried to do something about it. The problem with Whyte Ave is that there is a large number of people gathering in a small area. Mob mentality rules in that atmosphere. The playoffs should have been a time of celebration here but they turned into a near riot instead. It's unfortunate that the people that lost the most were the small businesses along the Ave. Vandalism, theft, lost business. The only people that dared venture out that way during a televised game were the people in the bars. While most of them just wanted to watch the game and enjoy themselves, there were others that just wanted to "rip it up". And after the game, MORE morons just went down to party. It degenerated from there. Despite the police presence, people still thought it was acceptable to climb on lamp posts, throw beer bottles, break windows on store fronts and pee in the streets. When you have 1000's of people in a two to three block area, it's hard to control. The Ave was shut down to vehicle traffic most game nights (and it's a major thorough fare through the south side and onto the UofA campus). Numerous arrests were made each and every night with some of these apparently "upstanding citizens" actually trying to sue the police for false arrests. If you're not doing anything wrong, chances are you won't get arrested. Ah, big city living. Guess I'll have to get used to it - and I've lived here all my life. 'Shell 'Shell

Drink beer ... yell at the refs ... have fun. While the cheap seats may be more fun, the box seats are much more comfy! Enjoy!!! You're gonna LOVE it!!!

Not my child. This was sent to me by a friend of mine. Ask anyone that knows me ... had I had children, and had one of them taken after me, they would have been kicked out LONG before this little artistic endeavour ... 'Shell
