Bill I am looking for a first rig, and have checked out 2 used Safires. The Icarus web page says that (lightly loaded) these are suitable for a first canopy. I notice that these wings have a very tapered leading edge. Isn't this more of a high-performance feature? I am currently flying a (rented) Sabre 230, and enjoying it very much. I want my first canopy to be docile and forgiving, not "twitchy", and the size must start with a "2". In your opinion, should I stick with a (more square) Sabre for canopy No. 1? ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."

Yes, I "SNOPES'd" it. WARNING!! Cocoa Mulch LETHAL to pets!! Subject: Warning - Cocoa mulch Date: Wed, 14 May 2003 23:00:04 EDT I am sending this to everyone I know who has dogs or cats. I received this email from my veterinarian. It was discussed on the Academy of Veterinary Homeopathy board. Cocoa Mulch, which is sold by Home Depot, Foreman's Garden Supply and other Garden supply stores, contains a lethal ingredient called "Theobromine". It is lethal to dogs and cats. It smells like chocolate and it really attracts dogs. They will ingest this stuff and die. Several deaths already occurred in the last 2-3 weeks. Just a word of caution -- check what you are using in your gardens and be aware of what your gardeners are using in your gardens. Theobromine is the ingredient that is used to make all chocolate -- especially dark or baker's chocolate -- which is toxic to dogs. Cacao bean shells contain potentially toxic quantities of theobromine, a xanthine compound similar in effects to caffeine and theophylline. A dog that ingested a lethal quantity of garden mulch made from cacao bean shells developed severe convulsions and died 17 hours later. Analysis of the stomach contents and the ingested cacao bean shells revealed the presence of lethal amounts of theobromine. ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."

This little poll was inspired by a ridiculous accident that I witnessed during my lunch time constitutional on Friday. While walking past a busy intersection in town, I noticed a particularly sharp black '86 or '87 Monte Carlo SS sitting at a red light, waiting for it to change. Before the light changed, the retard behind the SS guy - who had been at a complete stop - chirps the tires, and slams his piece of shit (old, rusty LUV truck) into the pretty Monte's ass. The moron then proceeds to get out of his pretendatruck, and explain to the very pissed owner of the Monte with the newly mangled trunk lid - "Oops, sorry, my foot slipped off the clutch". I walked over and gave SS guy a business card, and explained that I had seen the accident - and would be his witness if El Douchebag tried anything funny. How many manual transmission owners actually drive that way? Aside from the obvious safety advantages of knocking the vehicle out of gear, holding the clutch in for extended periods subjects the throwout bearing to unecessary wear and heat. ----------------=8^)---------------------- "I think that was the wrong tennis court."
