Ok here's what I did. I first bought a galaxy, then got a g3 helmet and stuffed a solo2 in the ear pocket. Then I bought a n2 for my hand and moved the galaxy to a mudflap mount. I love them all. The only problem I have with the n2 is the battery meter doesn't read correctly, sometimes it reads low when the next time I use it it has a full battery again

i use to pull below 2500' when I had my sabre with its 500' openings up until craig saucier saw me pull at 2k and had a little chat with me then I started to pull on average by 3k and now I have a katana so I pull at least by 3.5-4k. not sure of the consistency of this one yet. so no it really doesn't effect my skydives unless I go for some bonus points but I still don't agree with the pull altitude being raised for the aad's i don't even own one...

Hell yeah I would jump! Having said that the same laws of physics doesn't apply to me and I can't die so... But if I had to choose a last jump it would be a sunset high pull with a beer and maybe some wingsuits in the background.

Leaving your phone number is another way. I usually talk to the people or text instead of email. Sometimes they friend me on Facebook too and I realize we have some friends in common too. Its not fool proof but it helps to know if they are at least a real person. Talk to them about skydiving too, see if the slang is right. How much info do they give about the gear in detail. I get people asking To buy my canopy with no questions, just what's your paypal email... Scam!

Comments concerning a Canopy Licensing System
ridebmxbikes replied to MakeItHappen's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
What about a mandatory canopy course that the dropzones should hold per year? Say for every ten people your plane(s) hold you should hold 1 canopy course per year. Cessna dz- 1 per year, otter dz 2 per year but say a multiple plane dz that exceeds 60 seats should have at least 4 or 5 per year. At least that way none is forced except the dz to at least organize one. -
whoa dude! you had a mal and performed your ep's and saved your life from a shit canopy! if there isn't skydiver in there then i'll be damned! welcome to club plan b! just relax dude, remember why you started skydiving in the first place. isn't this something you want to do? that should be enough to give you the confidence you need... that and the fact you now know you can pull the silver handle if you need to! you know you can fly in the tunnel, at least in the sky you dont have to worry about hitting any walls keep it up bro and dont let a little challenge stop your dreams! in a few more jumps you'll be laughing about how you couldn't get it in the beginning welcome to the sky bro!

My Son Wants To Know....

What kind of bird and where would it hit you at? I imagine anything hitting you at 120+ wouldn't go over so well! -
What was your "next" Canopy?

switching to ellipticals?
ridebmxbikes replied to ridebmxbikes's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
I've flown a sabre2 before but I might try it again since at this stage Im flying a lot differently. I don't know anybody with a stelleto but I here they are a really fun canopy to fly. I guess at this point I just need to try and get my hands on as many different canopies as can to test out the waters. Also if you think a sabre is the most docile canopy there is, you should try a triatalon. -
I'm on a 120 @ 1.26... Just wanted to make you sound contradicting.

switching to ellipticals?
ridebmxbikes replied to ridebmxbikes's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
Well as to my skill level Im probably in the intermediate range per pd. One person said try a sabre107. I'm not really looking to down size yet. Id have to say what I would like would be more response and a little more dive with out the downsize. If the katana can dive as much as a velo then Im probably not as ready for it as I can see myself making more mistakes in the future. I don't want to push the envelope quite that far yet but would like to see what else is out there. -
switching to ellipticals?
ridebmxbikes replied to ridebmxbikes's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
lots of great advice on here, i wanna thank you guys for some great posts. as far as i'm concerned i'm a pretty good pilot(for my jump numbers). i think i'm gonna go ahead and try a katana on a high pull if all the conditions are good at the time, also have another friend that has a xf2 on order that i can try when it comes in. with saying that, weather i like it or not or whatever i decide im gonna try to get some real canopy coaching on my current wing and see what kind of evaluation the coach gives me. by the time i take care of everything and make a choice i should have a couple more hundred jumps. thanks for all of your time guys! -
switching to ellipticals?
ridebmxbikes replied to ridebmxbikes's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
well as i've never jumped an elliptical before not sure entirely what they are about except they are highly more responsive and the ones i've read most about dive a lot more. i was considering a xf2 but also didnt really have real thought about it till people offering to let me demo their katanas. i was looking at the xf2 but everyone keeps saying the way my progression has been going i should be looking at divier canopies. i guess nothing a few demos cant fix. i feel i would be comfortable on one but then again people have felt comfortable on velos at my stage also. which is the main reason i asked. i didn't want to end up being that guy getting the dirty looks -
switching to ellipticals?
ridebmxbikes replied to ridebmxbikes's topic in General Skydiving Discussions
what is the average jump number people usually start jumping ellipticals? I've been on a sabre1 20 at 1.26 and lately have had three people suggest their katana120 for me to try. not sure if that would be a good move yet. -
Exit weight of 85 kilograms is ~ 187 pounds. Ahhh. Yeah, don't let jump your rig. Id tell anyone and everyone especially the people with authority if he decides he's to buy one!
-
All of the above. Also what kind of 150 and what wingloading ? If he is a a .9 to 1 on a triathalon I could see how he wants something sportier. He has no clue what a xf2 109 even is. If he's really lightly loaded you may want to let him even demo your safire for a jump. Also since it sounds like y'all were friends before skydiving then if he does make stupid choice you can always nut check him! But tell him to demo appropriate canopies for his skill and he might find something he likes.

You mean I'm actually not dangerous enough to join? its like you're not even trying. do you even own a go-pro? get your act together man!
-
which is why you have over 400 jumps in 4 years and can't get anyone to video one of your swoops

Sofpidard requires cross-braced canopies...FAIL!!!
-
I believe its because Rw teams only get 35 seconds of working time anyway so only going to 10.5 will make the loads turn faster and be more fuel efficient. That's just my thought

Skyline N'awlins has a pretty fast 182. Forgot what engine they dropped in it but I know it has a 3 blade prop. I'll get more details about it this weekend for ya.

Jumps 66-69 were the scarest for me. Went out to the dz just like any other day but for some reason was scared shitless all day. I've never been scared to jump before that. The first 3 jumps went good but was still scared. On the 4th jump freefall was ok, had a 4-way and nobody was docking so ivwas flying to each one. Breakoff! Deployed my canopy and had linetwists all the way up to the top and it started spinning me on my back. Cutawy and rode my reserve down. Wasn't scared of the mal at all. Just had that fear all day.
