If the Senate wants to sit on its ass and do nothing fine with me. Everytime those bastards do get motivated and do something, they create a bigger mess. -
Supreme Court limits president's recess appointment power
Boomerdog replied to airdvr's topic in Speakers Corner
Well, the Senate has that power. As for the rest, we just disagree. -
The simple answer is yes. USPA reports approximately 36,000 licensed skydivers in the United States. Based upon a total population of 316,000,000, we are about 0.1% or one person in every 10,000 is a licensed skydiver. We are a small sport witha small population thus the industry is compared to other industries, small. But for a small sport/industry, we require equipment, talent and skills that are first rate, safe and the expectations for each piece of equipment to function as it was made to do first time, everytime is high. Given the mix of all the fixed costs a skydiving equipment vendor must meet even before a profit is made, I will in this case, side with the business.

Supreme Court limits president's recess appointment power

You missed a point or did not include it here. An important factor in the Court's decision also heavily considered thet the Senate NOT the President decides when the Senate is in session/not in session. It goes to the heart of Separation of Powers. -

Enjoy World Cup Soccer to your heart's content. Frankly, I'd rather watch paint dry. I don't "get" and have no desire to "get" soccer and I accept the fact that the rest of the world doesn't "get" baseball which to quote the venerable sports writer Red Smith, "...is 90 feet of perfection." So batter up and let the score be 1-0, 1-zip, shutout, no hitter, perfect game and forget this "nil" crap. -
Well...maybe. Too much "reverse C" in the finish. LuckyMcSwervy should finish like all golfers, with club just above the head and body facing the line of flight of the ball. Chance are, however, that she got good contact on the ball and sent it long and straight downrange.

Three cats in my house...all rescue. There is no doubt you will provide a much better environment for this cat. The alternative is that this cat will probably be euthanized. Get a cat box and provide her, her own space to urinate and deficate. This will minimize if not totally prevent the cat "marking" all over your new apartment. Yes, cats like dogs are territorial and at times even more so. Let the cat get to know you. One thing about cats that are different than dogs, the cat picks you NOT the other way around. But, I think once the cat realizes the great food and living space you're providing her she'll make you her own. Cats are survivors, they are the complete package of a predator in miniature. Cats don't need human beings any more than human beings need cats but I think cats and people are diminished when this principle is prevalent. Get to know a cat's behavior. What does it mean when a cat purrs, or flops down in front of you or brings you mouse they've killed and drops the dead mouse before you. Cats are compartmentalized in that they have "this way about them" that they will not share with you what they did while you were either away from your apartment or asleep. Cats like people show their finikiness and at times "mirror" human behavior and show us the @$$holes we can be. As such a lot of peopel don't like cats for the very reason that the cat reminds them too much of themselves. But this I know...cats ARE capable of great love and affection and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. And if a cat loves you, it's very real. Good luck and thank you for saving a life!

You can say that again IMPRESSIVE! I ran that race back in the Summer of 1973 with my high school cross country team. Same course. It was a b!tC# then and still is...7 miles of some of the narliest terrain to run. Great Job to the individual!

ISIS this is what is really going on in the middle east

Sorry, that's not gonna happen. You're welcome to send them the memo to stay "over there" as you say. I would caution not sign your name to the memo, that'll only make you a target and having said that, I'm sure some genius around here is gonna reply with, "Then we'll use yours (mine). Go ahead, I'm prepared and I wouldn't mind splaterring the brains of a few tangos. -

Sad story for sure. The good news is that your statement acknowledges the existence of God. Sooooo...I humbly encourage you to read the 55th Chapter of Isaiah and pay close attention to verses 8-11. Perhaps there's a greater good God sees and knows that you, I or anyone else does not see or know.

Yes....but did they have plastic pink flamingoes in their front yard? Could I encourage you to follow up on that one?

Couple in Las Vegas Killings Embraced Anti-Government Ideology
Boomerdog replied to mpohl's topic in Speakers Corner
you're point in all of this? -
The Speaker of The House i.e. Boehner. The Speaker leads the House in that he decides what legislation comes to the floor for a vote. The Speaker and the Majority Leader should in theory be working in Sync with one another and the Majority Leader lines up the rest of the party in the majority to vote. Another position not mentioned here is the one below the Majority Leader, the Majority Whip who's duty it is to keep everyon in "line" with the party positions.
-
Yup, Eric Cantor lost big time and so did John Boehner. Good riddance to one and the other is about to have the door slap his @$$ on the way out.

Ya better take another look. Fascists and Communists ARE two different sides of the same coin. And as far as the PDRK is concerned, I'm not going to even dignify a response to such a dumbass comment of yours. -

When all else fails, deal the race card. You dealt that one from the bottom of the deck. Your true colors are shining through.
