The mind set of the political left on clear display!
Boomerdog replied to rushmc's topic in Speakers Corner
I wrote: You wrote: Is it possible you just called three agencies within the USG turds? Most Conservatives would agree with you on your points. Careful now, you wouldn't want to be accused of coming over to the Dark Side. One of my favorite Lefties on the verge of converting????? We just may have a front page story here! -
Yea, the City of Cresswell has this rule to avoid property taxes on the airport. Any aviation business that builds (with their own $$$) a building on the airport must donate the building back to the city and then you lease it back from the city. Sweet deal for the city and the business owner is screwed. The airport manager's husband owns aviation maintenance business on the airport GONG...conflict of interest. The city manager was a douchebag, he finally quit and a DZO died. Yuck.

"We have to pass (the ACA) to see what's in it!" - Nancy Pelosi Same thing with a turd. -
You served four years and upon your separation from the service, you were provided a DD Form 214. YOU ARE A VETERAN!

Billionaires, miliionaires on BOTH sides donated or what you call "buying" the Congress. Some backed winning candidates and others backed losing candidates. And I'm making this stuff up? C'mon professor, those aren't my words up above.

...and your boy Tom Steyer contributing millions and millions of dollars to Progessive causes? You can call the Koch brothers S.O.B.'s but you won't lay a verbal blow on guys like Steyer simply because he's YOUR S.O.B. A little consistency puhhleaze?

Heartiest congratulations on your accomplishments!

Did Colorado lose their Senate...? If you mean "Did Colorado lose their Senate seat? Uh no! The Constitution specifies two Senators for each state. Perhaps the better questions is did your preferred candidate win? Well if your preferred candidate was Udall...well...he got his ass kicked!

When the time is right and both of you will know that, it would be a grand idea to take her to the DZ.

I've read Sun-Tzu and don't recall seeing anything direct or derivative that alludes to the pyramid design you cite. Sun-Tzu does talk about the traits needed to be a General. Clausewitz is focused on war from a political perspective. Again, I've not seen anything in reading Clausewitz that discusses the structure described but Clausewitz is a difficult read due to his writing that can be both straight forward mixed with nuance so it's possible to miss such a design in "On War." What is exemplified here looks more like describing the principle of "Chain of Command." While it may get the point across, it's not a good model. Something learned in the military many years ago is that a leader's effectiveness (so I was taught) is maximixed when they are directly leading no more than five individuals who in turn lead 3 - 5 etc etc. Ten is a lot to directly manage and of course write fitness reports. It's been done, but not something recommended.

Jimmy Carter "I could have wiped Iran off the map"

Politicians deserve two terms; the first in office and the second in prison. -
Jimmy Carter "I could have wiped Iran off the map"

Got me! Right on that one! But then I'm not a politician either and have had the unique priviledge to enjoy my career working legally, honestly, and ethically without being under the pall and spectre of going to jail. And yes you are right. Jimmy Carter has been a great ex-President for all of the work he's done with Habitat for Humanity and the other accomplishments you cite. But in the context of his Presidency, I firmly stand on my initial post. OBTW in the interest of full disclosure. I voted for Carter in '76. I didn't make the same mistake in '80. -

After all these years, that dumb peanut farmer still doesn't get it. He lost because he couldn't lead a country, But then he couldn't lead a starving fly to warm pile of fresh cow paddy. -
Uh...yea, on-line thesaurus has been out there quite a while now. The hammer, chisel and stone tablet method went away a while back. Not to worry, they had to tell me the same thing I'm passing along your way!

It's really really bad. But what you are really saying is that while Chicago does not suck as much as the other cities you reference. Guess what...Chicago STILL sucks.
-
To which I respectfully reply; "Mr Director, tough $#!T! Deal with it!"
-
IMHO..."Chicago Becoming A Safer Place to Live" has been out there long enough in the theater of the absurd that this phrase deserves a permanent and irrevocable place of oxymorons that rivals the term "jumbo shrimp."

Arkansas gun range becomes the first to exclude Muslims

I must admit, I don't know how to call this one. But it ought to be interesting as we watch the litigation unfold. -
After doing some searching on the net, the data is inconclusive on alligators in Virginia. Alligators caught in Virginia and Maryland waterways are in the opinion of each states fish and game department, not big enough to be indigenous and the result of release by humans who were keeping the gator for a pet...then the gator got too big and they released it. The bottom line of reading approximately 20 articles on this subject is there's been no confirmed citing of an alligator in the wild in Virginia. Yes, the Great Dismal Swamp is in both Virginia and North Carolina and while gators are certainly present in the GDS on the North Carolina side, none have been seen on the Virginia side for reasons yet to be fully known. Perhaps you are in possession of confirmatory data.

I'll ask around. But If I see any gators (most like in the Southern Tidewater Region) YOU will be the first to know. Well, maybe you should be the first to ask them assuming you do "gator speak." That's a visual I'd pay the prices of admission to!
