Well lets see, Chi-town to florida... Your best route is any way you can get out of that hellhole over to I-90 or I-80/94 then over to I-65 southbound, I-24 east, I-75 south take the I-285 loop around the west side of Atlanta (try real hard to stay away from it during rushhour's or lunchhour) stay on I-75 on down to Sunny Florida. So that'll take you through, Illinois Indiana Tennessee Alabama (couple of miles) Georgia Florida Now, none of these states are really "Bad" just keep it within 10 mph of the limit or if you can get in a pack (more than 3 cars) stay in the middle and hit the afterburner. Note, do not be the leader or tailend charlie those are the ones most likely to get picked off! Even better than a radar detector is the CB radio, us truckers only get tickets when we are not listening to the CB, you can know where the bears are, what traffic is like, best detours around wrecks, road conditions and ect... I too have had a few nicknames. When I was about 13 years old I moved back to California from Texas after living there for 3-4 years, well I was a little shitkicker complete with stetson, a big beltbuckle and dipping Copenhagen snuff. When I was in my late teens early twenties I wore a long handlebar mustache that I kept waxed into nice curls, I was dubbed "Pierre". I was also often referred to as "Hey A--hole!" As I tended with my addictive/extrovert personality to get involved in everything I did to the max I was at times Known as "Johhny Extreme". I was also often referred to as "Hey A--hole!" My facial hair is a very nice shade of red (I'm a "true red") i often been simply called "Red". I'm now generally known at work (on the CB) as "Jumper" and to all my fellow skydivers as "Chile Relleno" (Rodriguez Bro #414). In relation to another post some people don't seem to understand how a ticket for "12 mph over the limit" can get you put in the county lockup for thirty (30) days. In the state of Ohio they don't screw around, your second speeding (and other violations)ticket in a year is an automatic mandatory court appearance and doubled fine. There is no simply sending in the fine, you must appear in court and plead, if found guilty your fine is at a minimuim double the first ticket or more at the judges discretion. Now if you keep getting tickets (I'm not sure how many) and are found guilty of these repeated violations (in a one year timeframe) it quickly goes to a exhorbitant fine and jail time. I'll say it again "Ohio doesn't screw around!" In my travels as a truckdriver (yes, the BIGRIGS) I've received tickets in various states and OHIO is one you DO NOT want to make it a habit in! There are some states where for instance any moving violation in a construction zone is mandatory thirty (30) days and a hefty fine if found guilty. "OUCH" Anyway one of our own here at DZ.com does have reason to fear getting put in the pokey, especially if her judge is "By the book".
