Considering that I'm quite challenged in the "style" department, I think my all black Infinity is quite nice. But to get back on topic, your Dolphin is the bomb. And now, I would like to express my deepest gratitude to the moderators of this fine forum for letting me hijack this thread. Thank you, thank you very much. Edited cuz I'm a grammar nazi.

Ha, it may look like yours, BUT you don't have the matching shoelaces, now do ya blue skies, From the Shoelace Pusher herself. They were a nice touch... It'd be a shame to lose those. Downplane anyone? BTW, when are you getting off the injured reserve list? Edited for Tardness.

Before YOU got YOURS. Nanananana. Ordered it last July. Arrived right after the Richmond Boogie. Still spanking the newness out of it.
-
BTW, I was looking at the pictures from the Puerto Rico boogie that Kirk posted to the List back in February (it's my computer wallpaper). MY canopy is prominently displayed in several of those photos. I'm not buying this "I didn't know they were your colors" story anymore.

While a hole won't affect the airworthniess of the canopy, it was bad form not to mention the hole and patch. Also, it should have come with links (how were the suspension lines secured?) I'd tell the guy you'll deduct the price of repairing the patch and the links (and the install cost, if any) or it's no deal. Or you could just say it's not in "new" condition and walk away. Good thing you ran the deal through a rigger.

And you wasted bandwidth on this post?!? No, wait, nevermind.
-
Yeah...nothing like a shaved pussy. Didn't see that one coming ...

You should probably have gotten a Green canopy ... it matches the jealousy you're showing right about now. Get over it girl. No matter what you say, you'll always have to live with the fact that you spent hours, days, weeks, even months, looking through every skydiving magazine to find your PERFECT color combination, one that you were convinced was never seen by human eyes or even conceived by the human mind.... and then you go to the Moss Point CRW boogie to show off your new ONE OF A KIND canopy ... only to find out that you ordered a canopy that looks just like mine. Seriously though sweetie. You're stylin' See ya at CSS.

Tell her to keep a log. What day and time they where said. The day and time when they requested that the behavior stop. get witnesses signatures etc. What you just said is sexual harrassment. PERIOD. I have sat through more sexual harrassment classes then anyone person should ever have to go through. side note it isn't jsut men that sexual harrass. I had a male employee bring charges against his female supervisor. that was a fun 3 weeks of investigation... NOT Also I think everyone missed you saying that she thinks he is recording her conversations. That is whole different issue. Recording a conversation without prior consent is illegal. You can record all the images you want but you cannot record a conversation.Wiretap laws don't just apply to the police. What he said. Most states have a human relations commission (or similar state agency) which investigates allegations of sexual harassment/discrimination. Keep the log and then make an appointment with the appropriate agency. They'll take the first steps. Generally you must file through the human relations commission before you can sue in court.

Yes, Dolphins are great containers, but your choice of colors makes me want to hurl. Why didn't you tell anyone about your matching shoe laces?

Iraq & Afgahn wars have boosted alQaida's ranks

Kallend beat you to it. Like they wouldn't have found another excuse to kill people. 3,000 dead because we helped the Kuwaitis kick Saddam out. These people are just thugs. -
I'm actually with you on this one. In many states (including PA) school funding is obtained on the basis of real estate property values which, you guessed it, are lower in the poorer minority areas. It is a problem, but so are the teacher's unions who sue every time somebody wants to start a charter school that competes with the local school district. The whole Democrat opposition to school vouchers just pisses me off to no end. The public school teachers unions do more to keep inner city kids uneducated than anyone else.

I think Chris made an excellent point. Your premise is based on the assumption that the unemployment rate is based solely on discrimination. Chris' response indicates that it's not discrimination but a disadvantaged home life that contributes to low employment prospects. Maybe we should also look at the rate of high school graduates among minorities. I'm betting that African American's don't graduate in the same proportion as "European" Americans. Certainly education plays an important part in one's ability to get a good job. Just because blacks have a higher unemployment rate doesn't mean that the lack of employment is caused by discrimination.
-
Your point was made perfectly clear. A couple times of firing her up will end this problem. It's always worked for me (but it does hurt to have to discipline them like that.) Just because you didn't catch her, doesn't mean she doesn't know it's hers.

Since the offenders were under her chain of command, there are many posters here who can't object to her being relieved. It happened on her watch. Having said that, I think she's getting a bum deal because the MI units did an end around her by de facto taking over portions of the prison and members of her unit. She's probably being relieved because she allowed the MI units to have too free a rein in Abu Guburabu.

How about EO? Equal Opportunity. Everybody gets judged on their merits, and not on their skin color. You'll never eliminate discrimination, whether it be white on black, black on white or otherwise. You can only hope that those who continue to see the world through racist/bigoted eyes will continue to become a smaller and smaller part of the world. Affirmative action was valid at one point in time. Now, I think it's time has passed. It only perpetuates the stereotype that minorities can't compete on their merits and require special treatment. One question though. Isn't affirmative action itself discrimination? OK everybody, feel free to break out the flamethrowers.

The metal's in for the duration. My fib was so badly busted that either way (metal in or out), I'll probably be crippled for life if it gets busted again. I'm a very active jumper and the metal doesn't present any major issues. Sometimes a dull ache but nothing to worry about. It has made me refine my PLF to a fine art, though.
-
I broke the tib clean through and shattered the fib. 2 screws in the tib & 6 pins and a titanium plate in the fib. Your doctor's time line is pretty much what I went through. Started with small amounts of weight, then walking unassisted probably a couple of weeks later. When it felt right I started jogging and then began running over rough ground to be sure the ankle could take poor landing areas. Jumped again 7 months to the day after surgery. No, I didn't rush it; I was ready. My doctor didn't prescribe any sort of rehab program. He just said listen to your body. It will tell you when you're ready.

This is a pretty bigotted comment. You're implying that Arabs are such fucking idiots that they'll be insulted because a place name was mispronounced. I don't think the majority of Iraqi Arabs will be insulted by the man who threw out a mass murderer. If other Arabs are insulted, I'm sure they had problems with GWB to begin with.

I lost a dog in the woods one time when she saw a deer and took off running. It took me 18 hours to find her. I didn't spend all 18 hours in the woods, only about 6. I then took my T-shirt and left it in the woods and went home to get some sleep. Came back in the morning and there she was ... right at the T-shirt. Hope you find her. Keep the faith.

Toadsuckers CReW Dawgs at Gold Coast
chuckbrown replied to Laurel's topic in Events & Places to Jump
Just wanted to say thanks to all the great people at Gold Coast Skydivers for a fantastic 3 days of jumping and partying. GCS is a first class operation with truly wonderful people (management, staff and fun jumpers). Learned to eat crayfish (yummy) and had the best jambalaya on earth. It was really fun to see the field trip of elementary school kids who came out to watch the skydiving on Friday. I wish I had field trips like that when I was a kid. -
The Red Carpet wasn't bad. Everything was clean/worked.

second line of defense Most banks don't collect in their own name. They hire collection agencies. Or repo men.

DeMilitarized Zone. The no-man's land between North & South Korea.

Fair Debt Collections applies to anyone attempting to collect a debt, even a bank. Banks are actually more sensitive to unfair collection practices that other creditors; they don't like the publicity of getting sued.
