Nothing, they had nobody that could do a straightening and now I need to buy a canopy. I'll probably get the roots permed a little so the weight of the rest of my hair quits pulling it down. Apparently I'm destined to have curly hair forever...sigh... Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

Hollie is actually haoli and I'm not sure what the spelling is. People say brah, the haoli transplants say dude especially if they're from CA. I say dude a lot, but I always did. $18 for a King Air to altitude, altitude being anwhere from 12500 to 14000, although I have made it to 15000 once. Getting on a King Air is another story. They mostly are only available on the weekends when there are a bunch of tourists. This is a very upjumper unfriendly DZ. Its a tandem factory, plain and simple. Rides on C206 or 182 through Skydive HI are based on altitude, $6 for a hop and pop from 3000 and up. Drop Zone (the name of the company) has a Cessna 402 that tends to be a little more available than King Airs, but gets a little less altitude and still costs $18. Jumping is beautiful, can be scarey depending on the winds, and turbulance is almost always present in some form due to the row of trees around the DZ on one side and buildings and mountains on teh other. I would say the canopy control learning curve is high. You do learn how to jump in winds though, I couldn't figure out what the hell happened in Eloy when everyone vanished because the winds were at 15-18. Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

In Hawaii. I have on as many layers as I was wearing in Eloy, and I'm inside. I wish I had central heat or a space heater or a man slave or some batteries or something.... BRRRRR! OK, no more mindless post whoring. Sorry. Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

I have a 150, I am loading it at under 1. I get way better response from a 135 and have an easier time landing it and turning it than a 150. I'm actually a little irritated with myself for listening to everyone who kept telling me I would damage myself under anything smaller, because the 150 was a waste of money. As for canopy control, I have landed the 135 upwind, downwind and crosswind. I can fly it in brakes, do braked approaches and turns. The only thing I don't do is high performance landings, but I'm also not doing those under ANY canopy yet. I understand that many people feel that a larger canopy is way safer and I respect that opinion. I personally like the way something a little smaller flies, so that is what I am going to invest my money and time in. I am a very safety conscious skydiver and even though I will nonetheless incur the wrath of someone by saying this, I feel that I have a pretty good grasp of where my canopy control skills stand. Finally, the downsizing is at the recommendations of several of my instructors who have WAY more experience than me. Thanks for your opinion. Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

Sigh, man have some courtesy....and just for the record, JESS DOES NOT JUMP NAKED (or partake in any of the 48000 acts of debauchery that she did with Sky) with short short men. I slapped it around shortly thereafter, just to make sure it wasn't damaged from the cold. And the rest....well its non-sitting down for a week history Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

Dave, dave, dave, of course I want a Sabre2 but I'm going to wait and jump the demo 120 before I buy it. This is only to keep me in the air until then, especially seeing as PD doesn't want to answer my demo request. Jess Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

You know that kitty footprints of Hawaiian red dirt are NOT considered a pet stain and therefore I can't complain that Woolite's Pet Stain remover didn't work? Argh. Little teeny footprints everywhere, I love the rainy season. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....

I'm about to start looking for a smaller canopy but I expect to take some time to pick one. While I am demo whoring, I want to replace my Sabre 150 with a 135 square canopy-I got spoiled on about 40 jumps on a Sabre2 135 and a Spectre 135 in Eloy, and I find it way more responsive and actually easier to land. (I'm barely 140 out the door). First, I want to know if the Spectre really does fly so differently than my Sabre, or was it just the difference in wing loading that made it feel better? Would a comparably sized Sabre feel the same? Secondly, as I do seem to have developed a taste for a nice, long Spectre opening how does the Triathlon compare? I only ask because they do seem a bit cheaper used. I'm mainly concerned with how it turns, dives, and getting a little surf out of it on landing. Blue skies!
