  1. Actually, I think there is a 40-group (pre-selected) that is jumping. So both Otters will be running. Saturday, our 16-way team is practicing. Plenty of organizers all weekend. The season has begun.
  2. I'm sure his opinion of the US has changed in the last 8 years. What with OBL rotting in prison and all. He sure showed him! We were discussing general respect for the US military and repercussions for their actions. AQ membership is concerned about being found by the US military these days. That is a large change from the Clinton days of zero action.
  3. Between "do nothing" and "fucks everything up" . . . I'll take a do nothing President just about every time. I was just trying to agree with him. He stated that Clinton left Bush information on all the situations that Clinton had avoided for 8 years. I was pointing out that if it was all so urgent, why don't we have an example of Clinton every doing anything about it? You have two have the same logical flaw. You have no problem giving Clinton a pass on everything, but somehow Bush has to have accountability for every action during his administration. Clinton had 8 years to handle Afghanistan and OBL. Somehow, Bush gets criticism for not cleaning up Clintons messes in some perfect fashion. If you can't see the unfairness in that...
  4. " but Clinton LEFT Mr. Bush with..." Yes, he did. What was Mr. Clintons response to... Yemen, SA, Kenya, Nairobi... There is an entire laundry list. Repeated attacks against US interests. Warships, embassies, everywhere... (and crickets chirping) Clinton DID leave it for Bush after he did nothing (in response) for 8 years. As OBL himself said, he expected to go to Somalia and fight for years, but instead, Clinton pulled out immediately. OBL referred to the US as a "paper tiger". Clintons inactions through the years, set the stage for 9/11. He destroyed US military credibility around the world. Terrorists felt that they could attack the US. The biggest Do-Nothing president ever.
  5. ...still? People quote speech soundbites and SNL shows, but can't quote any actual campaign website materials. Most don't know how actual campaign promises will be implemented. Each state governor has a website with their plans on what they will be doing during their administration (Arkansas' is a monthly paid membership ). I review ours and look at the programs that they are funding. We have an amazing amount of "green" programs that go on in Florida and no one knows. Hydrogen cars, etc. Most people can read, but are already ignorant because they refuse to educate themselves.
  6. He did, but the FBI is covering it up. Duane is on a covert mission as we write. During VN, there was the "secret" bombings of Cambodia. Operation Menu I once read (in 1975) that we spent more on bombs to bomb Cambodia than the entire national budget of Cambodia. We would have been better off to just pay the Cambodians to move. That's what we should do with border terrorist towns. "We'll give you $600 worth of entirely new goats if you move 300 miles that way." Then, anyone who was left is obviously doing something bad that requires them to be there and can be bombed indiscriminately.
  7. Do they have to be good ones? I only have about 8 good ones.
  8. Evidently so. You have to be careful. You could be talking to a buddy and he says, "Yeah, stop over. We'll crack open a cold one." Sicko. Think of it as an opportunity. You don't have to listen to a 2-hour description of all the back-biting drama that is her 3 best friends from work. "Of course, I don't like to go out to lunch, but if I don't, they'll all talk about my new shoes. You think they match the bag, don't you?"
  9. Mark, Hooper dropped by??? I can't believe he's in the US and didn't drop me an email. I could have been there yesterday and of course I know every one of those you mentioned. It does make your head spin a bit; quite a group there (you included)! Ski and Donna jump most weekends. Scotty too. Jerry knows everybody, so he stops out most weekends and visits. Jerry was talking about his book. He said that it may end up being 3 books because of the different topics that come up. The interesting part was hearing a conversation about 40-way speed competitions. One thing that bugs me is that there is a lot of knowledge being lost. It seems that skydivers are always re-learning how to overcome obstacles that other skydivers have already mastered. You hear "this one time, we figured out how to build a 40-way faster because the ends..." or "the front float on the 8-way piece launch needs to..." We talk about The Bonfire forum here. At the dz, the bonfire is a source of knowledge. Instead of spending 200 jumps figuring something out, I just talked about it at the fire one evening and someone told me.
  10. Def later of the two... what guy on here doesn't want to be spanked by Skymama? She's too busy today. On Mondays, she teaches a course in Flirting at the local community college.
  11. The Master Flirt? Hah! The worst thing in life is when people admit that they agree with me. The question is Mr. Right, or Mr. Right Now. Mr. Right Now is always better looking. Eventually, they have to decide if they want to give up Mr. Right Now for Mr. Right. (Then they whine to their girlfriends about "back in the day" like old high school football players.)
  12. Evidently so. You have to be careful. You could be talking to a buddy and he says, "Yeah, stop over. We'll crack open a cold one."
  13. These threads are always about the "one opinion, all the time". Who does that? It seems like the 35+ Cougar crowd are far more aggressive than the guys. The long-term "nice guy" is talked about, but kind of an "on hold" fallback position, that's why they lose. The under-35 crowd seems to just be more circumspect. Wilder times are always out of town. What people say online and how they act are wayyy apart. Image vs fact.
  14. Events thread It will rock. Two Otters. Thursday 27th - 10 Way Speed Competition 4 rounds of 10 way Speed. If you wear a MB tshirt all day, Janine is giving a discount on a huge Turkey dinner and dessert. Friday 28th - 8 Way FS Competition Saturday 29th - 16 Way FS (Saturday) There will be plenty of pickup teams for each event. Rabbit, Rick, Wolfe, and I have an awesome 10-way speed team (full). We'd love to have ya come down and get on a pickup team and play.
  15. Bill shhhhhhh your asking for more competition..how can we get a medal if there are more than 3 teams We are going to go to the Crystal on Wed night with some of the opposing teams (except Derreks, they are experienced skydivers).
  16. Since when haven't dropzones been a bit fugly looking? I know of one case where a person was so unhappy about it that they left. Of course, that made an 80% improvement.
  17. For any women who answer 'yes' to all three of the above questions in reference to a single guy, PM a recent pic.
  18. I used to have a list of entry criteria, but I ran into one obstacle... so do they.
  19. The thing that is most in decline is Skydiving website trolls. You just don't get the real quality trolls anymore. The new ones don't even try to educate themselves. They don't have any finesse. A broadsword approach. What is the world coming to?
  20. Further information People should show up Wednesday and put together some teams. There are many excellent jumpers who have not committed yet, so the options for pickup teams are good. It will be a great weekend. You don't have to win to have fun. You can get free coaching from superb skydivers and learn a lot and make new friends. Thursday 27th - 10 Way Speed Competition 4 rounds of 10 way Speed. Remember to wear your MB tshirts. Friday 28th - 8 Way FS Competition There will be fun teams, pickup teams, and serious teams. Saturday 29th - 16 Way FS (Saturday)
  21. My aunt believes that WWF wrestling is real and the moon landing was faked.
  22. If there was 50 peoples DNA on the bag, and my DNA isn't one of them, game over - that's an exclusion, next suspect. Secret people? Doing secret things? With secret names? Whatever. Unless you provide a name and some facts, do we guess? A non-investigation of non-facts will non-occur. The most tedious part of this whole thing has been the "I know this secret thing about something that may have possibly happened to secret people that I can't tell you about". What IF Duane was a secret Double-Ought spy and had a secret decoder ring? What IF...? Name a fact, a specific provable fact, with names, no speculation. Or quite complaining that everyone else doesn't drop everything and play this game and follow all these bunny trails. Every person who came out of airborne school in the 10 years before 1971 had the "necessary knowledge". I once worked with a vet who robbed 9 banks for the fun of it (and is in jail). I personally know 10 VN vets with jump experience who would have done the hijack just for adrenaline. They are all more qualified than Duane and most were unemployed after VN. As one said, "I have two jobs skills. I can blow the bridge up or blow the bridge down." How many people knew where the stairs were? Any aircraft manufacture employee. 50,000 Any airline employee. 50,000 more. Anybody who was interested in $200K. 50,000 more. So, we've narrowed down the suspect list to the 150,000. If the FBI doesn't follow the most nebulous of tales, it is because it is a waste of their time.
  23. Ponce De Leon proved that they are within walking distance, it just takes longer.
  24. The key to a trust fund is "trust". If you give the immediately give the money to young people, they may squander it. Remove the entire contents of the safety deposit box and replace it with a valid personal check that can be cashed at any time, if they should find it.
