I guess thats the sound of silence. No comment on the 100,000 Iraqi's men women and children we've killed in the last TWO YEARS! When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

Correct me if I'm wrong but although Scotland is devolved form Englands parliment it is still part of Great Britan, which like it or not makes you British. Not sure what would be worse the 'corrupt' European parliment or that eye sore that you've got up there that cost a bloody fortune! he promised 'War without end' and thats what you've got. Unfortunatly it also is what the majority of your fellow countrymen want, if noy he wouldn't have been (re)-elected. Sadam was crap, only 300.000 in what? Three decades? We've killed something in the region of 100,000 in just two years! Imagine what we can accomplish in a decade! http://musicweaver.users.btopenworld.com/bmj_counting.dead.in.iraq.htm http://www.sciencedirect.com/science?_ob=ArticleURL&_udi=B6T1B-4DV11P2-13&_coverDate=11%2F26%2F2004&_alid=267570374&_rdoc=1&_fmt=&_orig=search&_qd=1&_cdi=4886&_sort=d&view=c&_acct=C000040619&_version=1&_urlVersion=0&_userid=727634&md5=2d3deb53823117292007aea627ce0f1e When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. You can't blame Queen Victoria for the Saxons, Danes, Romans and Normans. Don't forget that the Romans brought soldiers from all over their Empire, from Africa to Iraq. In fact there was 200 Iraqi oarsmen stationed in North Shields! Funny eh? Two thousand years ago the Iraqi's were occupying us! Is there such a thing as a British citizen? I thought we were all 'Subjects' at least we used to be. But for the purpose of this poll if you were born here or live here and regard yourself as British then your a Brit. It covers those within the British Isles. So fellow Brit, having spent alot of time in Europe lately I have seen we have alot in common but alot of differences. Who do you think us Brits have the most in common with? Brits only please.. I'm curious we all know the stereotypes but leaving them aside, what do you think? Are Brits more like Americans, Europeans (I know we are part of Europe but i'm talking about our continental cousins) or are Brits more like Antipodeans (Aussies, Kiwis and South Africans, (For the purposes of this post Antipodeans cover South Africans as well) Please comment on the reason for your choice. Sad but true. The British Army is now designed with the thought that it will only undergo offensive operations along side the US forces. When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Lucius Annaeus Seneca

OK so maybe it wasn't a tip off by the CIA but with this level of accuracy I wouldn't be suprised if they were responsible. Father Ted's colleague as pope - what're the odds? The race is on to succeed John Paul II as pope and bookmakers are already getting in on the act. But not all the candidates are quite what they seem. According to the Washington Post, gamblers can back Cardinal Dionigi Tettamanzi of Italy at odds of 11 to 4. "Or they can take their chances on Father Dougal Maguire of Craggy Island, Ireland, a long shot at 1,000 to 1." But the Post's reporter was unaware of a key detail that, generous odds aside, would make canny bettors take a pass on Father Dougal. He is a fictional character. More accurately spelled McGuire, he appears in the hit British television comedy Father Ted, screened on the ABC in Australia. The show follows the antics of an eccentric group of Catholic priests on a small island off the west coast of Ireland. The clueless Dougal is described by Britain's Channel 4 television as "one of God's 'special' creatures" but even so, he is not thought likely to assume the throne of St Peter. http://www.abc.net.au/news/newsitems/200504/s1339054.htm When an author is too meticulous about his style, you may presume that his mind is frivolous and his content flimsy. Actualy if you look you'll see that I didn't state an opinion either way, simply asked a question. If Bush or the US are shown in a bad light then it is the people voting and responding to the post (AKA YOU!) that are holding the torch. And who is sadder Kevin? Me for posting my 'lame polls' or you for repeatedly responding to them? Salmon Rushdie said he believes U.S. isolationism has turned not just its enemies against America, but its allies too. Do you agree with him or not? So I was wondering, If the US decided to go to war against North Korea, China or Iran. Is there any senario in which you would support a pre emptive nuclear strike. Please comment either way.
